Yankees ‘Worst Construction of a Roster’ 😬 A-Rod after New York’s heartbreaking loss to Blue Jays
Disappointment again, obviously World Series are bust for them, and losing in 4 games in this round, not exactly what they wanted. Let’s go to the podium and hear from their manager, Aaron Boone. The ending is the worst, right? Um. Especially when you, when you know you have a really good group and a group of guys that really came together so well. Um, you know, at the right time, you know, the final couple of months, you know, this was a team and. It’s a team that played for one another. Did a lot of really good things and we got beat here, you know, credit to. You know, the Blue Jays and and the year they’ve had and, and, you know, they, they beat us the series, simple as that and um. You know, it doesn’t doesn’t make it any easier, um. You know, It’s a beat up room in there. Um, you know, they’re they’re still sharing with one another. Um, you know, I felt like I come come out and owe you guys this, but know that, you know, the, the guys are in there still. Sharing with one another because they, they truly became a really close, close team and, uh, and a really good team, um, and. It’s it’s the awful part of this is the journey you go on that. And this has been a tough year for me personally, um. You know, But all you go through to kind of. Become this kind of team you think can really do something special and then for it to abruptly end is, is, is always difficult, um. You know, and You just You know, it, it’s a beautiful game that so many of us and you guys here and. Um, you know, certainly within our organization, every organization pour so much into the. To go on this long journey to have a chance to chase a chase a dream and win a championship and when it when it ends this way. It’s, it’s always. You know, it’s terrible. It, it’s, it’s, it, it hurts. Um, but I know for me personally, I know for a lot of those guys that also. Continues to ignite your fire to want to get back and play in these meaningful games and and have a chance at that glory so um. I thank you guys that cover us all the time and are here and, and again, I want to congratulate the Blue Jays. In their organization they they have they’ve had a terrific team terrific year and to build a build an outstanding team and and uh. You know, credit to John and and those guys, they, you know, they, they took it to us this series. Yeah, they did Clay by Aaron Boone, but, uh, disappointed. I mean they were expected to at least get back to the World Series if not win it, and that is, uh, not what they were looking for. Yeah, and look, uh, again, Aaron’s been very classy. We’ve all been very consistent with that, honestly, from the entire organization, he’s the one guy with circle that has least to be to blame. I mean he’s got a lot of talent, but for me personally one of the worst construction of a roster I’ve ever seen. You have 3 left handed catchers. You have 5 DHs. You have a first baseman in and out. It’s just a very, very difficult hand for Boone and honestly, uh, they were exposed against a, a much better Jay’s team. Yeah, I mean, look, Aaron said it. They got beat They got beat, you know, last year you can sit back and talk about the World Series in game 5 and you can say Yankees beat themselves in that particular game in this series, the Toronto Blue Jays proved that they were a better team. Right from top to bottom they’re a better team. What’s tough is for the Yankee fans, right? This is the 2nd year in a row that they’ve watched another team celebrate on their home field, and you can feel the frustration, but, um, look, those press conferences that that Aaron just did, we’ve all been in them they’re very, very difficult because we’ve been a part of teams that we thought. We’re gonna win a World Series that we’re the best team and it didn’t happen, right? So I think sometimes you gotta sit down and let it all digest for a minute, and I think it’s probably a longer conversation to what you had brought up, Al, but um. Aaron did a good job. I mean, look, he, he’s working with what he has to work with and uh he sticks up for his players. I know he takes a lot of heat, but uh look I’m not saying it from any inside knowledge but I’m pretty sure Aaron’s not the one that’s calling every move that they make throughout the game. I’ll tell you what, um. Once you go through a world series. Prior year In your mind At the front office as a fan as a player, you deserve to go back. And you prepare yourself to be in it because you know you got the tools. When this happened It’s uh it’s it’s a broken heart type of situation because. You, you got caught a couple of steps before you you, you kind of get there and for an organization like the New York Yankees who have a one of the biggest payroll in, in, in what part of the worst year last year. It’s it’s gotta be devastating and and and I can feel that uh uh. Watching their manager talk right there and like like my man say I mean he did everything whatever it takes trying to get there they got you know cut off and next year is another year.
Alex Rodriguez reacted to the New York Yankees’ ALDS elimination, saying, “For me personally, one of the worst constructions of a roster I’ve ever seen.” Additionally, Derek Jeter, David Ortiz, and Kevin Burkhardt analyzed why the Yankees fell short this season and discussed how the team can bounce back next year.

How can the Yankees bounce back next year?
It all starts with dismantling the Analytics department followed by firing Cashman and bringing in new ownership. It's a disgrace to fans to let a drought like this go on for this long.
Yankees rooster was over $700m. Jays is less than $400m.
No excuses. Jays were 💯 better.
Jays best theme down, Yankees starting pitchers didn’t stand a chance against Blue Jays hitters.
Daaaa Yankeees Lose… T-shirt Pronto Toronto
They have not given ANY respect to the Blue Jays… all year.. and this playoffs.. NOW that the Yankees are out, they have to admit the Jays played better to make the loss feel better… Since game one, it was WHAT do the Yankees will do to win… not talking about the Jays except as an afterthought…
Why is cashman still the GM. He has one World Series in 25 years. Every team he builds is the same. Home run or nothing. His teams are incapable of playing small ball when they need to
This was tough ending, I think they have to get rid of Volpe, Jazz and Wells asap!
The yankees shouldve won this series?? How many good players u need on a team?? The bue jays going to the world series?…alright😒
They got exposed is right!
Tough decisions need to be made.
It's ok. Soto has a party going!
The big bats went quiet at the wrong time of the year. The pen also failed and didn't do the job. Again, can't win with this guy as manager – 8 years and counting…
All the Yankees have is home runs
Bye bye Yankees!! Let's go Blue Jays!!! 😂😂😂
Yankees sucks, just as they are
Do we still ignore the fact that the reason the Yankees made it to the WS last year was mainly because there was actually no strong team in the AL that year? If they would have had to play this years Jays, Marlins or Tigers they wouldn’t have been there either. Their core philosophy of having a bunch of sluggers worked in the old days, when they were almost the only team with big money, when there was no free agency and when they could lock good players away from other teams in an endless number of farm teams.
Those times are over, their track record of 16 years without a championship proves that. In the post season and the WS you can’t win without excellent sharp pitching, without smart base running, without playing some small ball when needed, without a tight defense and without a batting order that can be dangerous from top to bottom. The Yankee lack in all of those categories, entire parts of the batting order just disappeared, there was no constant threat. Judge was way better than last year, but Stanton unlike last year, meh. Their core philosophy is rotten. The only decent contributors except for Judge with at least 10 ABs were McMahon and Rosario the late acquisitions. Jazz, abysmal, sleepy and sloppy in the field and except for one long ball…under .200 , Volpe, defensively much better, but 16 SO with 5 hits….I could got through the whole lineup.
You can just not win games or not even dream about a WS with performances like this.
And it is not just the players, I bet, you take that entire team, each player put the in LA an they will go further than they did even when playing stronger teams in the NL. Something is wrong with that entire organisation.
The Jays were much better. They basically smoked the Yankees in every facet of the game.
Does Big Poppy say New York Jankees on purpose. 😂.
Imagine showing this era of the Yankees to the era with Jeter and Arod.
Tough to hear David Ortiz talk lol
I think ARod is spot on about the Yankee roster–WAYYYY too many "DH" types who take an all or nothing approach to every at bat. They need more versatility–guys that can play multiple positions, can make contact, run the bases, and catch the ball. In the postseason-teams that don't execute and play sound fundamental baseball get exposed–a la the 2025 New York Yankees.
I will say it for Arod and Jeter, Cashman is a bum and until Hal wakes up…this script will never change. He has to go.
What contribute does David Ortiz make to this analytics round table, none. Don't mind having a former RedSox players with 2 amazing Yankees players. Oritz can't articulates a baseballs play or the game. He just happy to see the Yankee lose, while does realize the greatness of the entire blue Jays offense and the managing style of their manager.
