Jake Browning: “I’m aware of the role I played in the offensive struggles over the last few weeks, but I’m also not shouldering the entire situation. … I’m not dumb or arrogant enough to think I didn’t play my role in the offensive struggles, but there’s a lot that goes into it.”

  1. Sounds like he wasn’t taking the blame and hes pissed they benched him hes saying it was zac taylors fault

  2. Brother you had wide open reads the last two games along with pretty good protection and STILL threw it right to the defense. Get a grip.

  3. This guy just went from “could be a starter somewhere else!” to likely out of the league in a 3 week span. I’d be pissed and flinging shit too if I worked towards a dream my whole life and then my skill alone wasn’t enough to overcome organizational incompetence and now my dream is likely over

  4. Yeah Jake it’s other people’s fault that you were missing Wr by 5 yards while there were 2 or 3 defenders around them.

  5. I’d be in denial too if I had a nice set up as backup only to expose myself when I have to play and show I don’t belong in the league at all. Hopefully he’s saved well.

  6. There’s taking the demotion like a pro, and then there’s Jake Browning. Get a good look, folks. He’s burned any bridge to sticking around past this year just by running his mouth. Dope.

His take will age better or worse based upon Flacco’s play. Dude set himself up.

  7. Everyone dunking on Browning here…ya’ll are the same crowd that parrots “Fire Zac” and “gosh our offensive line sucks” and “god our drafting sucks”. Now all those areas are blameless, its all on Browning?

  8. Really feels like this entire organization put everything into Joe Burrow being the starting QB. Even the backup stopped putting in the work to get better expecting to have the easiest job in the world behind Joe

  9. I get why he’s pissed. He played well in 23. Someone would have paid him but the Bengals exclusive rights’d him and he’s stuck here making 1 mil as the backup. His latest little run probably cost him tens of millions of dollars. That’s football.

  10. True leaders take the blame when things go wrong and share credit when there is success.

    Is he correct? Yeah
Is that the way to say it? No

  11. I’m all for a shit on Zac Taylor party but if you watch the film from the broncos game or the Lions game you’ll realize the problem was Jake Browning more than anything. He has time, but would panic and freeze then make a stupid ass decision, or run and throw a shit ball. It wasn’t until the 4th quarter of the Lions game that he even looked remotely ok. We could be 3-2 or even 4-1 if Browning just processes his reads.

  12. No reason to dog on this guy. We very clearly have scheme issues and predictability issues.

He took ownership of his mistakes. Out 250 million dollar quarterback went down, don’t completely be a dick to browning, a backup, because our line can’t work with this scheme.

  13. I don’t get this move at all. The season was sunk when Burrow went down. Are they actually trying to salvage it? Tank, get a top pick, preferably offensive line and a new coach.

  14. It was so obvious he checked out watching his preseason game. He was hoping he could collect checks comfortably while Joe burrow played. He looked so bad and unprepared in preseason. Fuck browning and fuck Zac Taylor and fuck Mike brown for this unserious franchise. It’s a disrespect to all the hard work players who want to win have put in.

  15. God forbid he says the quiet part THAT ALL OF YOU HAVE BEEN SAYING FOR THE LAST FEW YEARS OUT LOUD. Lol

He’s shouldering his part, but he was also thrust into a situation where he had to play hero ball and take big risks. Why? Because the damn run game is historically bad and that is 100% ZT’s fault. He REFUSES to even scheme a single thing for Chase Brown and as a result, we average less than 3 rushing first downs per game. It’s insane. Most teams get that per drive lol.

  16. Watching people turn on Jake for pointing out the obvious (that this team sucks real bad) appears to be correlating directly with people delusionally thinking Joe Flacco is somehow going to do any better
