🚨San Francisco 49ers Fans Get Some BIG NEWS Before Week 5 Game vs. Buccaneers On Potential Trade 🚨

[Music] N you feel N. [Music] What is up everybody? Welcome into the show. You’re watching the San Francisco 49ers report. Chase Senior here with you. It is a beautiful Wednesday, October 8th, and I’m ready to talk some NerS. Another loaded show coming your way as we have the faithful tuning in from every pocket of America and worldwide. And as always, no matter where you are, how you’re tuned in, thank you so much for making today’s show a part of your day. We have a trade update from Niners general manager John Lynch. We’re going to get into that because obviously the NerS need to make a move to find a Nick Bosa replacement. The pass rush without him has pretty much been non-existent in the two games without him. And so with that, we’ll also take a gander at some Niners trade targets along the defensive line. I want to get into an area with this offense where I’m going to pose this question. How does this keep happening this year, a really dumbfounding issue for this Niners offensive attack here in 2025? Kyle Shanahan getting coach of the year buzz and I think it’s justified. And then I want to take your questions for a mailbag. Usually we’re able to pull your comments when you use the hashtag 49ers. For whatever reason, we’re having some technical difficulties, but if you do send in a super chat, I promise you we could take those questions. I’m not just saying that to drive super chats. All right, but I do want to do a mailbag. So, if you send in a super chat with a question and we get enough, we can of course do a Q&A here on the show. A programming reminder, by the way, we’ll be live right here on the San Francisco 49ers report for this week six matchup. One of the top games across the NFL slate. A huge pivotal matchup inside the NFC. Niners and Tampa coming off that mini buy after they beat the Rams in shocking fashion on Thursday Night Football. They’ll be playing the Buccaneers and we’ll be live for a watch party with our pregame show beginning at 300 p.m. Eastern, 12:00 p.m. Pacific. I hope to see all of you there. And if you want to do that mailbag, another reminder, send in a super chat. If we get five to eight of those, then we can run it up and we could certainly do a mailbag. We can talk X’s and O’s, offense, defense, trade targets, the schedule, whatever you want to discuss. We’ll open up the floor and I’ll take all of your questions. We have 450 people watching live. Shout out to all of you who have your notifications on. That’s why you hit that bell icon and turn on your noties. Therefore, anytime I push out a show, anytime we go live like this, you will be notified. And if you’re ready to talk some ners, I want everybody kicking it here with us to hit that thumbs up icon, like the video right now. 450 people hanging out, 64 likes. Continue to hit that thumbs up icon and like the stream. All right, we’re going to begin with a trade update for San Francisco. That’s going to be segment number one and then we’ll get the ball rolling. So with that, producer Chip is ready. My name is Chase Senior. I’m ready to go. Hope the faithful is as well. And the official show begins right now. Let’s go. [Music] Here we go. Welcome into the show. You’re watching the San Francisco 49ers Report. Chase Senior here with you. And no matter where you are, how you’re tuned in, I appreciate you for making today’s show a part of your day. So many other great content options out there and a lot of talented people who cover the Niners. So, anytime you decide to watch our coverage, I certainly appreciate that. Coming up on the show, we have a Niners trade update from general manager John Lynch. We’re going to get to the latest buzz around San Francisco making a trade to improve this defensive line and improve their pass rush. Before we do all of that, don’t forget to support the channel and subscribe for Non-Stop Ners coverage. I’m bringing you shows every single day year round. News, analysis, takeaways, reactions, rumors, we do it all. Live shows, watch parties, hop on board. We’re 173 people away from 176,000 subscribers. Let’s reach that milestone with this video. So, this is why I think the 49ers need to make a trade going into the NFL trade deadline. And the deadline after week nine going into week 10. Here we are as I record this show on Wednesday, October 8th, about to embark on week six. So, there’s still some time for San Francisco to make a move here. And how about this start that the Niners are off to? 4-1. And they’ve won three road games. They’ve won a bunch of close games and they’ve been able to be highly competitive, looking like one of the best teams in the NFC with a rash of injuries. It really is a testament to the coaching that we’ve seen from Kyle Shanahan and Robert Salah. And so when you accomplish all of this so far this year in the manner that the ners have done it with all of these marquee players who have been out and reinforcements on the way, San Francisco has shown the men upstairs, Jed York, John Lynch, this front office that they can compete. I also think this NFC is wide open. There are a lot of really good teams inside the conference, but do we know going into week six who the best team in the NFC is? In that upper echelon grouping, it’s definitely the Detroit Lions, the Philadelphia Eagles, but who’s to say the Niners aren’t the third best team in the NFC. Who’s to say that they can’t compete with Philadelphia or Detroit? Then the other teams that you throw into the mix 25 with a young ball club which also includes a lot of players who are battle tested and have played a lot of big games for San Francisco. This defense is also much further along than what we anticipated for this juncture of the season. I always said at the end of the year, the defense is going to be a lot better than they are earlier in the season. But statistically, this defense has been one of the top units in the National Football League. And the offense has been okay. We’ve certainly seen some moments from the offense. They need to get better running the football. The offensive line needs to play better, although that’s a personnel issue. They need to do a better job of converting and capitalizing in the red zone with drives that result in touchdowns, not field goals. But the good news is reinforcements are coming. The likes of George KD, Brandon Aayuk, and hopefully soon Ricky Pearl and Jawan Jennings to the defense specifically because obviously that has to do with the side of the ball that we’re talking about on the program here today. What Robert Salah has done is amazing. You lose Nick Bosa and obviously it’s impacted the pass rush, but you have a bunch of young players who are playing well. It looks as though San Francisco has crushed this 2025 draft, but you’ve also got a lot of new faces on defense. Yet, this defense has been phenomenal to start the year. And at times, it’s really bailed out this Niners offense. You look at how the Niners stack up on both sides of the pill. First, offensively, 21.2 points per game. That ranks 22nd among the 32 teams. They are moving the ball, so that’s a good sign. 375 plus yards per game. That’s fifth. Yards per play kind of average. 5.41 17th. They’ve lacked some explosive plays, but this is also by design because Kyle Shanahan and M. Jones have thrown a lot of short passes and not a lot of passes downfield. They’ve been good on third downs, fifth in the NFL there with a conversion rate of 45.7%. And undoubtedly, they need to improve in the red zone. 42.1% red zone touchdown scoring percentage. That’s 28th in the NFL. That’s not sustainable. But look at what they’ve accomplished on defense so far. Sixth in points per game at 19.6, 15th in yards per game, 10th in yards per play at 5.1, the fifth best third down defense in the NFL, the eighth best red zone defense in the NFL. Far cry from what this Niners defense was doing last year when Nick Sorenson was in over his skis. And what an upgrade it’s been going from Sorenson to Salah. Now, with all that being said, without Nick Bosa, who is one of the best overall players in the NFL, one of the best defenders in the NFL, and a game-changing player week in and week out when he’s on the field, this Niners pass rush without him the last two full games has kind of been non-existent. And the Sners defense might be playing well right now. They can’t last that way for the long haul, for the foreseeable future, for the rest of the year. And so that’s why I think San Francisco needs to make a move to improve their pass rush because you look at the pass rush production by week. In week one, 10 pressures, one sack, two hits. Nick Bosa closed the game. Week two, Bos also played well. Bryce Huff had the game ender. 22 pressures, three sacks, two quarterback hits. Week three, Bosa went out early, but still the Niners had 22 pressures of Kyler Murray, one sack, and three hits. But look at the production the last two games without Bosa for the entirety of the ball game. Right, when you’ve seen this pass rush lacking, John Lynch is not a dummy. John Lynch knows that the Ners need to make a move or moves in order to increase the pass rush production because right now you’re hanging on by a thread and you’re playing with fire. You’re playing a scary game of football and it’s also not fair to ask your back end to have to hold up like that because over the long term it can’t, right? So, how can you, if you’re John Lynch, watch that Niners win against the Rams? How spirited they were, how much heart they played with, the guts that they showed, how they put their balls on the table, how they were short-handed when they beat a legitimate team and not believe in this ball club. And I think John Lynch now does believe in this ball club. And here’s what he had to say about San Francisco making a trade. As a fan, you always want your team to be allin. And so, Niner fans have to be very excited with what Lynch said here. You’ve got to earn the right. It’s probably talked about more in baseball. Do you earn the right to motivate people to go acquire people? So, that means we’ve got to keep playing good football so that this guy who we trade for could be the guy who makes a difference. That’s well said by John Lynch. And if the Niners continue to win, if they continue to play well, if they continue to show that they can be competitive and perhaps win the NFC West and be contenders in the NFC, I think it signals that the NerS will make a big-time trade because again, they have to here. And you look at the Ner’s upcoming schedule. It’s going to be a difficult game going up against a Buccaneers team that I think is one of the best teams in the NFL. You’re also on the road and we’ll see if M. Jones plays. Hopefully he does. We’ll see if Ricky Pierce saw Jawan Jennings play. But look, they beat the Rams with the bunch of backups. What a job that the Niners did last Thursday, right? So, you go on the road week six against the Bucks. You win that game. My gosh, you’re five and one. You’re sitting pretty. But then you have a winnable game at home against the Falcons on Sunday Night Football. You have a winnable game on the road against a Texans team that has been pretty mediocre to bad this year. You go on the road to play the Giants. Got to win that game. And then you play the Rams again. You showed with a bunch of backups. You can compete with Los Angeles. After that, you’re on the road against the Cardinals. They’re reeling right now. Three straight L’s. All of those losses coming on game-winning field goals that happened as the clock expired. Jonathan Ganon just got fined 100k for making contact with De Marcado because he fumbled out of the end zone. Week 12, you play the Panthers on Monday Night Football. Should be able to win that game. Week 13 on the road against the Browns. Jim Schwarz has always had Kyle Shanahan’s number, but you should win that game. No excuses. You have your by-week in week 14. That gives this trade acquisition time to get acclimated with this defense. Week 15, you have the Titans at home. Should win it. Week 16 on the road against the Colts. That game more difficult now on Monday Night Football than we thought going into the year, but I think San Francisco is better. You host the Chicago Bears on Sunday Night Football in week 17. Another game that you can win. And you already beat Seattle. That’s going to be the regular season finale and the NFC West could come down to that game and you’re going to want a star pass rusher on the field against that Seahawks team, which is why it’s so important to make a move. Now, Eric Williams, NFL insider for Fox Sports, also reported this. League sources I spoke with pointed to the Jags, the Niners, the Rams, Bills, Seahawks, Patriots, and Eagles as possible teams who will be active at November’s trade deadline. Teams like the Eagles, Rams, Niners, and Seahawks have shown a willingness to be aggressive in previous years at the deadline, and those teams are also in the top half of the league in terms of salary cap space. This has been a misnomer for a lot of fans out there. They keep saying, “Chase, we can’t make a trade. We don’t have any cap space.” The Niners are top five in cap space right now. So, they can make a move. Now, coming up next, who could the Niners go out and acquire to help this team along the defensive line? Stay tuned for that. Some really intriguing trade. As far as some trade targets for San Francisco, obviously this list is pretty fluid because it all comes down to which teams are going to falter, which teams are going to continue to lose games, which teams could reverse fortune, reverse tide, and end up winning games, which teams will be buyers and sellers going into the deadline. Obviously, I’ve talked a lot about Trey Hendrickson here on the show. He is a trade target that makes a lot of sense for San Francisco because the Bengals are bad. They just traded for Joe Flacco. I don’t think they’re going to survive without Joe Burrow until December. And he wanted a long-term deal. He didn’t get it. And so, I think that makes him expendable because clearly the Bengals don’t think he’s a part of their long-term plans. There was no player in 2023 and 2024 across the entire league who had more sacks than Hendrickson. 17 and a half the last two years going into 2025. The quarterback hit numbers the last four years also phenomenal. 3625 24-27. He can win with the bull rush. He can win with power. He plays the game with the relentless non-stop motor. And I think that he could eat in this 49ers defense in this wide n under Robert Salah and Chris Coerak. And if you sign him to a contract extension and Nick Bosa comes back either he, Bosa or Muel Williams can all play together because they can play defensive end and they can play defensive tackle. He had a really good game against the Lions on Sunday and he was able to increase his numbers across the board. overall PFF grade this year of 86.5. That ranks 11th among 169 qualifying edge rushers. His pass rush grade 90.3. One of the best technical sound pass rushers in football. Ninth is where that ranks among all players at the position. His run defense grade not bad, 62.6. That ranks 70th. He has 21 pressures and four sacks so far this year. Of note, PFF doesn’t count half sacks. And so the Bengals have a lastditch effort to try to remain competitive. And what I mean by that is that they have benched Jake Browning, who was awful the last three starts, and they acquired Joe Flacco, who is going to start after being acquired on Tuesday against the Green Bay Packers on Sunday. And if Joe Flacco ends up winning games, maybe they don’t become sellers at the deadline. If they continue to lose games, that increases the likelihood, in my opinion, that Hendrickson gets dealt. As for Jeffrey Simmons, this is one of the top interior defensive linemen in the game, who can also play a little bit of defensive end. He did a little bit of that this past Sunday against Arizona. And for a long time, he’s been one of the best defensive tackles in football behind the likes of Chris Jones. He’s been an allp pro. He’s been a multi-time Pro Bowler. He’s not quite the player who he once was and he is a little bit highly paid, but he is under contract if you want to continue to. 82.5 that ranks ninth among 186 defensive tackles. He has a pass rush grade of 90.8. That’s second at the position. Run defense grade just okay. He is more of a pass rushing defensive tackle. But you also drafted players in Alfred Collins and CJ West who are better run stoppers. Jordan Elliott is a better runto stopping defensive tackle than he is a pass rusher. And you just need to increase your pass rush as a collective unit. Simmons also has 24 pressures. That’s number one at the position. He has 15 hurries. That’s also number one. And he has the most sacks among defensive tackles with four. As for Max Crosby, I think the Raiders should trade him. And I think that Max Crosby should demand a trade. This Raiders team is an absolute joke and they are nowhere close to winning. And for Crosby, he’s wasting his football career away with Las Vegas. He’s not able to play meaningful football. I want to see this guy play for a playoff level team considering the hustle that we see, the grit, the take your lunch pail to work type of mentality that Crosby plays with. And I think that he could really really thrive in this scheme with this wide nine where he can pin his ears back and get after the quarterback. Max Crosby would be a dream trade target for San Francisco. And he’s everything that the ners value in a player. Loves the game of football, plays the game the right way. He’s a stud and he’s a dog. And this would be losing an elite player in Bosa and replacing him with an elite player in Crosby. Man, I saw some people down in the comment section and on my Instagram, give me a follow, chase_cenior saying that Crosby is overrated. What game are you watching? And also keep in mind that on that Raiders defense, it’s not like he’s getting a lot of help. Overall PFF grade this year of 84.6, run defense grade of 78.6. He can set the edge and he’s really good against the run. He’s an excellent pass rusher, 76.8 grade there. He has two sacks this year, 16 pressures, and four quarterback hits. He’s also had consistent production all throughout his career. You get him opposite of Mike Williams this year. Those are two defensive ends who can set the edge, they can stop the run, and they can really be disruptive in getting after the quarterback. I mean, we’re talking about a player here in Crosby who year by year since 2019 when he was a rookie, 10 sacks, seven, eight, 12 and a half, 14 and a half. He only played 12 games last year, still had seven and a half sacks. This year in five games had two. Caleb Williams said a couple of weeks ago after the Bears beat the Raiders, phrased this as a trade target, who is the other option who people aren’t talking about because all of the focus is on Trey Hendrickson right now. Miles Murphy certainly has some pedigree. He played his college football at Clemson. He made producer Chip proud because Chip, also a Clemson alum, first round pick in 2023. Unbelievable athlete. 65 276 with length and power. He can also really run. 45 speed. The sack production hasn’t been great. 30 one and a half to start this year. He has seven pressures in five hurries. But he’s a really intriguing young player who’s affordable. And how often have we seen Chris Koserk be able to maximize defensive ends and defensive linemen who are with one team and they’re not necessarily working out as far as production. Then they come to the ners and they end up being really good players. Charles Amen, Jordan Willis, Ardan Keerk’s done a great job of developing defensive ends. Even Cleveland Furl had a good year for San Francisco. Look at what Koser’s been able to do with the player like Nick Bosa early on with Mike Williams. If he gets his hands on Miles Murphy, that’s a very interesting developmental piece. Other Niners trade targets here going to continue to throw Kavon Tibido into the mix. He’s definitely up there for one of my favorite trade targets for the Niners. A young player who’s under contract for 2026 as well. He’s been really good this year. Carl Granderson of the Saints because him, Cam Jordan, they play on a team that only has one win and the Saints are getting calls because they’re looked at as a team that could be sellers going into the deadline because they’re rebuilding. I would love Brian Burns. And then Bradley Chub of the Dolphins. He tore his ACL last year, but does have four sacks so far this season. Don’t forget to lock us in. Hit that subscribe button. Anytime there’s a juicy storyline, anytime there’s breaking news, anytime you want elite analysis, takeaways, and reactions, I got you covered right here on the San Francisco 49ers report. Let’s get to the super chat from Nigel Crane. A $2 super chat. Eddie Diero Pierro, the special teams player of the week, LFG 49ers. Eddie Piniro, I talked about this yesterday on the show, has saved the Niner season. I mean, he has hit a bunch of clutch kicks that have come in big-time spots that have helped to decide and win games. He is a perfect 11 of 11 on his field goal attempts and makes. And he’s a perfect two of two on kicks of 50 plus yards. He has been so good. And I really like the confidence and the swagger that he’s brought this Niners team at the kicker spot. That is something that Jake Moody sorely missed and was lacking. You could tell deer in the headlights with Jake Moody with Eddie Diero Pinero, he’s been money and he’s got a lot of confidence when he lines up these kicks. Such a huge move for San Francisco. Obviously, it took them a little while to move off of Jake Moody. They kept trying to justify using a third round pick on him, but after the two misses week one against Seattle, they said, “We can’t move forward. It’s going to cost us some games.” And they’ve gone with Eddie Pinero, top five most accurate kicker of all time. And that accuracy has been on point. And he’s done anything but cost them games. He’s helped to win them games. They might not beat the Saints without Piner. He had the gamewinner against Arizona and then against the Rams, the 59yder, the overtime kick. Big time right there. All right. Or another reminder, if you want to do a mailbag for whatever reason, we’re not able to pull your questions by using the hashtag 49ers. But if you do send in a super chat like that one that we just got, and we get five or six super chats, we can do a mailback. I’d love to do it. I’m sorry that you can’t send your questions in for free because our system is dealing with some technical difficulties right now, but we are able to pop up your super chats and your donations. So, use the hashtag 49ers. We’re sending a super chat. If we get enough, we could certainly do a mailbag here. As for segment number two, I’m excited for this one. How does this keep happening to the San Francisco 49ers? About to get into that segment number two coming up here momentarily. Gonna talk about this ground game and then gonna talk about Kyle Shanahan here. Shout out to the recent commenter club, Curly Prod, Steve Cass, April, Robbie V, John Wallace, Dev415, the OG Rivera, Milf, Chaser, Luke. What a username. That’s awesome. Good luck in your pursuit of MILS. Donald Johnson saying hi. All right, who’s ready to talk some more Niners, baby? Let’s talk some Niners. Segment number two coming up here in a moment. Donald Johnson, what is the big news? The big news, John Lynch hinting that if the Niners keep winning, they’re going to make a big move to bring in pass rushing help. That was segment number one. Segment number two getting underway right now. And let’s dive right in. Two topics that I want to get to here. This is the San Francisco 49ers report. My name is Chase Senior. Coming up on today’s show, how does this keep happening this year for the 49ers? And we have to have an honest conversation about head coach Kyle Shanahan. What he’s been able to do with this football team so far this year has been highly impressive and he deserves to be in the mix for coach of the year. And it’s pretty crazy that with all the success that he’s had, he’s never won coach of the year, but I think what he’s done so far this season, maybe the best coaching job he’s had since he joined the Niners back in 2017. But let’s begin here with topic number one. How does this keep happening this year for San Francisco and why do they keep struggling in this particular area? When you think of head coach Kyle Shanahan’s offense, obviously it’s been instrumental across the entire NFL and it goes down in history as one of the more popular and league defining offenses and schemes over the course of football history. I mean, his fingerprints are all across the NFL as far as offensive football goes. That’s why a lot of his proteges and assistants who have worked under him have gotten head coaching jobs elsewhere. That’s why elements of his scheme are all across the league, but specifically with his offense, whether it be Shanahan or somebody else who’s running a Kyle Shanahan type of offense, you think about an offense that leans on the ground game. an offense where the run game is the backbone of it. A very runhappy and runheavy approach. This offense is built off of the outside zone ground scheme. And in a patented way that opens up the pass game because Kyle Shanahan’s pass game, I wouldn’t say it’s innovative or modernday. It has some old school elements to it because you see a lot of five-step drops and sevenstep drops. Some of the protection schemes are a little bit old school, but he runs that play action off the ground game because it gives this Niners offense a lot of muchneeded balance. And then the defense is on its heels with the pre- snap motion, all of the window dressing. As a defense, you can get caught off guard. you can get confused and it’s a very difficult offense to prepare for when the pass game is humming and the run game is operating in the way that we’ve seen it operate in the past. Right? And in Kyle Shanahan’s offense since he took the head coaching job in 2017, how many running backs have we seen in 2017? How about this name? Carlos Hyde led the Niners in rushing with 938 yards. In 2018, Matt Breida led the Niners in rushing yards with 814. In 2019, the year that the Ners went to the Super Bowl. Raheem Oster led the team in rushing yards with 772. The following year, Niners were very injured. Jeff Wilson was not led the team in rushing yards with 600. In 2021, Elijah Mitchell rookie campaign ran for 963 yards. Then the Ners traded for Christian McCaffrey. And in 2022, he led the club in rushing, even though he joined the team near the midway point of the season, 746 rushing yards. Then in 2023, he won NFL offensive player of the year, led the NFL in rushing with nearly 1,500 rushing yards. And then last year with CMC hurt, it was Jordan Mason who led the Niners in rushing yards. And obviously, he missed some time, but still was able to accumulate 789 yards on the ground. And some of you might say, Chase, this isn’t having a lot of success. I mean, there’s only been Christian McCaffrey who’s run for more than a thousand yards. It’s also been running back by committee where a bunch of backs and Kyle use as the fullback are able to find success on the ground. And so that list features a bunch of backs putting up nice numbers, right? Which brings me to this point and this question. What is going on with the Ner’s run game this year? And how have their struggles persisted all throughout the 2025 campaign? It’s pretty nutty that the 49ers are 4 in one right now. They don’t have an interception on defense and on offense, they can’t run it successfully. And Christian McCaffrey looks pretty damn good. 91 carries for him, 282 yards, 3.1 yards per carry, zero rushing touchdowns. The Niners are the only team in the NFL going into week six that does not have a rushing touchdown. For a Kyle Shanahan le offense, that is shocking. That is jaw-dropping. And you look at some of these numbers here. First with the Ner’s rushing attack, their rush play percentage, they’re running it less than usual because Kyle Shanahan knows we can’t run the damn ball. Their rush play percentage 39.94%. That ranks 24th in the NFL. Their yards per rush 3.1 dead last in the NFL. Their rushes per game, this is attempts, 27.8, that’s 12th in the league. But their rushing yards per game, 85.2, bottom of the league, 28th in the National Football League. And their rushing touchdowns per game, again, no rushing touchdowns this season, zero, ranks 32nd in the NFL. And then when you look at some of the advanced numbers and the other notable rushing data points for San Francisco, they are dead last in runblock win rate. They are number 31 in stuffed run percentage and they are also dead last in negative run percentage. How often have you seen this year where Christian McCaffrey or Brian Robinson they get a carry right and then immediately they are met in the back field for TFLs or minimal gains. It has happened on a consistent basis at a consistent clip. And I don’t think this is sustainable for San Francisco for the rest of the year. And SF data 49ers on X always puts out these great graphics. Shout out to him. And he put out this one. Negative run percentage among the 32 teams in the NFL. Who would have thunk it that going into 2025, the bottom two teams with Saquon Barkley and Christian McCaffrey would be the Eagles and the 49ers. But that’s a reality so far going into week six. So many negative running plays for both Philadelphia and San Francisco. Now, with the Eagles, I think that they can write their wrongs and correct their mistakes because they have the talent and the bullies up front along their offensive line, and I think they’re just a little bit fatigued from that long season that they had last year in winning the Super Bowl. Unfortunately for the NerS, this is what it comes down to for me, and this is why I think these problems have persisted. I think it’s the offensive line. So, I asked that question, how does this keep happening for San Francisco? For me, it’s got to be the Ner’s interior offensive line. Trent Williams is not the player who he once was, right? Blown up. Conor KBY just don’t think his time is right now to play at the NFL level. And the Niners miss Ben Barge as dealing with that ankle sprain. Conor KBY in the ground game hasn’t been good. Jake Bindle gets pushed around a lot. Doesn’t have a strong enough anchor. And unfortunately for San Francisco, it looks as though Dominic Puny kind of having a secondyear regression after last year in his rookie year, he was fantastic. And when you’re trying to run it, and especially in this Kyle Shanahan zone scheme, you like to run it in between the tackles a lot and a lot of the run plays are in between the tackles. When you have a center who is getting pushed around and pushed back consistently, it really just wrecks everything when you’re trying to run the ball. And Jake Brendle all year has struggled to a certain degree and I just don’t think he’s a good enough center at the NFL level. I think he’s completely average when you compare him to the other centers across the league. Against the Rams in pass protection wasn’t good. Running it, you turn on the tape, he gets pushed around too much. He gave up three pressures. He was beaten an additional four times. And among centers in the NFL, he ranks number 25 in pass blocking, number four in run blocking. But I can’t really trust the PFF numbers in evaluating offensive linemen any longer because these numbers don’t make sense when you actually watch the tape. When you put some of the better interior defensive lineman over Jake Brendle, whether it’s a run play or a pass play, he’s always getting beat. Now, is there good news on the horizon? When George KD is on the field, the Niners are a much better running team than they are when he’s not on the field. And he pretty much gives San Francisco another offensive lineman. It allows the NerS to play downhill more. And also, he poses a different threat to the defense because obviously he’s an excellent route runner, a fantastic pass catcher, and the best all-around tight end in the NFL. So, the return of KD not going to be back for this Buccaneers game. Hopefully against Atlanta. hopefully can get this ground game being more successful because right now it just can’t last this way. And Kyle Shanahan here in 2025, early October, needs to be in the conversation for coach of the year. And you think about what the Niners did against the Rams. But what the Niners have been able to do all year, four in- one, three wins on the road, some big NFC and NFC West wins as San Francisco is also 3 and 0 inside the division with all of the injuries that have taken place and with two different starting quarterbacks. He has M. Jones playing at a Pro Bowl. Kyle Shanahan has saved the career of M. Jones. And in that game against the Rams, the ners beat one of the more legit teams across the NFL without Brock Pury, Ricky Pearl, Brandon Aayuk, John Jennings, Ben Barge, George KD, Nick Bosa, Malik Mustafa. A lot of head coaches across the NFL would be chewed up and spit out. The game would even be close. Not only was the game close, but the Niners built that huge early lead. They shocked the Rams. They hold on. They come through in the clutch and they win in overtime. And his team played with heart. His team played with discipline unlike the previous week against Jacksonville. His team played with belief. And that’s a testament to the culture that Kyle Shanahan has been able to build. It’s a testament to the coaching that he had his team ready to play where backups left and right were on the field with huge roles and the Niners got that dub. For the 49ers to be 4- one, one of the top teams in the NFC with all of these injuries, it really is an incredible coaching job and I’m glad that Kyle Shanahan has joined the likes of myself in heaping praise and giving credit where credit is due. Here’s what Cow Herd said about Shanahan and the job that he’s done so far. I think Kyle Shanahan is having his best year as a coach. They don’t have Pertie, Iuk, KD, Jennings, Bosa, and Piersaw. They’re three and0 on the road. M. Jones looks like a Pro Bowler. This is great coaching. They’re the only team averaging 40 passes a game. Think about that. There’s no substitute teacher here. They’re asking Mack to throw it 40 times a game. Christian McCaffrey touching the ball a little bit more than I want him to. Cross your fingers on his health, but coaching matters and Shanahan should be coach of the year right now. He’s coaching his butt off. He really is coaching his butt off. And the 49ers have won all of these close games. Week one against Seattle, Brock Party six of six on the game-winning drive. Week two against the Saints, they win 26 to 21. Week three against the Cardinals, M. Jones, Kyle Shanahan. the game-winning drive. It was flawless. You lose against Jacksonville. That’s what happens when you turn it over four times and you give up an 87 yard punt return for a touchdown. Then you come back in week five, eight and a half point underdogs and you hold on to win that game in OT and a big reason why the Niners are here. Again, shout out to the SF data Ner here with this chart. Actual wins versus expected wins. The Eagles number one, the Niners number two. Who are the other teams that are contrary to the Niners overperforming and are underperforming? The other three teams inside the NFC West are underperforming teams in crunchtime situations and in the clutch. And there at the bottom, toward the bottom, you see the Rams, you see Seattle, and you see Arizona. We are witnessing here in 2025 a heck of a coaching job from Kyle Shanahan here on YouTube talking about the ners and I’m doing the same over there. Get in touch with me. Big hurt $5 super chat. Big Chase working a rare day shift. Two questions. What the hell is going on with Watkins’s calf? Why the hell is Gendo on the shelf? Well, the history on Garendo is that he’s literally always hurt. That was the case at Wisconsin, the case at Louisville, the case with the Ners. He cannot stay healthy. It’s unfortunate because he’s a very interesting player with unbelievable athleticism. I mean, you don’t see a lot of backs who are built like that, 6 feet, 220, who run a 43. As for Jordan Watkins, he had the ankle after that first preseason game when he caught the 50-yard from Mack and then he injured his calf. Soft tissue injuries stink and the Niners surprisingly have been able to make do with their wide receiver report. All right, more than 800 people watching live. I’m going to give everybody two minutes to get questions in if you want to do a mailback. But here’s the deal. because our system isn’t working to pull hashtag 49ers on regular comments. They have to be super chats. So, I’m going to give you two minutes. If we get enough super chats in to do a mailbag, we’ll do a mailbag segment. If not, I’ll answer any questions that do come in and then we’ll sign off. So, two-minut super chat shot clock is up. If you want me to do a mailbag and answer your questions, get those super chats in right now. and include those questions within those super chats. Unfortunately, usually we’re able to pop up your comments when you use the hashtag 49ers, but it’s not registering with our system right now. Some te technical difficulties today, unfortunately. The way she goes, it happens. It happens. Cardinals like some fun games. What’s going on with Jordan James? Yeah, another player who was banged up. And when you’re banged up and it slows your development of trying to learn the scheme on offense, I think Kyle Shanahan just loses trust in you. And I think that’s what’s happening. John Wallace, $3 super chat again. We’ll at least answer the super chats that come in. Johnny Dubs, David Corona, what up, brother? Black Mask in the building. I saw Candy is also in the house. John Wallace, $3. What players are coming off of injury being able to play? Uh they haven’t released their injury report yet, but let’s hope Ricky Puraw can play. Let’s hope Jawan Jennings can play. We’ll see. They’ve had that many buy. Hopefully Alfred Collins can play with that knee sprain. Upton Stout with the low ankle sprain, but we should get some injury updates soon. Should get some injury updates soon. All right, two minute super chat. Shot clock has surpassed. No mailbag. Hopefully we can do that with the next live show. Some fantastic content to come in the days leading up to kickoff. Niners Bucks on Sunday. We will be live for a watch party. Appreciate everybody who tuned in today. Another excellent audience. Your support means everything. Without it, we wouldn’t be able to do what we do. So, we’ll catch you soon for Chip. I’m Chase for the faithful. We’re out. See you. [Music]

  1. This trade talk has been going on for the last 2 weeks. When does anything happen. Better yet tell us when it does happen. Rumors are just bullshit, give me real news.

  2. Why did you spend 3:40 just talking about super chat you know you can make a different video about your super chat and make a video about the 49ers. I click on this video for 49ers REPORT not for you to talk about super chat.

  3. I wouldn’t pay a first round pick for a few weeks rental of Hendrickson. I like a trade with Miami for Phillips when Nick gets back we can keep Phillips so Huff can go back to specialist role we also need another DT I like Simmons but he could be too high of a price. We need our draft picks for the OL

  4. This except for the John Lynch comment, IS ALL TOPICS THAT HAVE ALREADY BEEN DISCUSSED!
I don't know how long it was, at least an hour, though, but in all that time you couldn't come up with something that's A NEW TOPIC???
How about instead of an hour show, that you keep saying/promising that there'll be LOTS OF NEW NEWS/TOPICS, you do one that's short and to the point, that ONLY HAS WHAT YOU SAY IT HAS IN IT. Instead of us having to listen to THE SAME OLD NEWS that's already been out there for a week???
I really like this show and all, but when it's the same old highlights when new ones are promised, IT GETS VERY, VERY OLD!!!
