For the franchise’s 25th anniversary I’d like for them deal with my ultimate CBJ pet peeve and get the number of stars on our flag correct.
I am going to be completely honest here:
I really did not like this design when it was revealed, it just always bothered me. I will say that as the years have gone on, it has become something I look on favorably. The sense of nostalgia when I see it makes me appreciate it more.
I still like the Star logo and Cannon better, but I appreciate this more now than I did 25 years ago. I have a old Pro-Player jersey with this logo, but I’d be lying if I said I was not tempted to pickup a new one š

Seems kind of pointless to rerelease this in stores when the players aren’t going to wear it and it really doesn’t have any sort of callout to the actual anniversary other than just the fact that it is our OG jersey.
Why would anyone buy this for what I’m assuming is a $180+ price point when you can just grab this same jersey from Facebook marketplace for like $40-50 today? lol

So this all but confirms my suspicion that the reason we didn’t get a *new* 25th anniversary jersey is because we have trouble moving jerseys outside of Columbus. This is nostalgic to us here in Columbus. It will likely sell well in Columbus. I don’t see it really moving elsewhere.
I donāt know why everyone hates this look. Itās better than our current home and road set. Yeah the cannon is better and should be the primary, but Iād take this over what we have now.
I had the original season home and away authentics with the fight straps….sold them about 7 years ago and have regretted it ever since. Dammit.

Donāt get me wrong, I embrace it. I have a Ray Whitney jersey that I wear with pride. I just will never understand how this logo is what they landed on.

I got the orig fully customized with the 2000 inaugural patch. This is missing the subtle sublimated ābeeā stripes as well.
