NHL Highlights | Blackhawks vs. Bruins – October 9, 2025

And to grab that win on the road against that team made it even more special. They dropped the puck and we are underway at TD Garden for the first time in the regular season. Bard trying to take advantage. Centered. Ruin’s got a stick on it. And now Middlestad counters a lead for Arbitson. Arbitson pulls, drags, got around Lson off centered. Middlest shoots. He scores. Casey Meadow gets it started in the home opener. Bruins won. Blackhawks nothing. Bruins make a change in the neutral zone. I understand you want certain matchups, but it wasn’t the time to go and it looked like Chicago was going to get a scoring chance with numbers coming across the blue line. It did not happen. Brews do enough defensively to create the turnover and then they get in motion in the offensive zone. Victor Harbertson had a breakaway last night. You were hoping he was going to bury that one. Was denied. He makes a nice little stop and go move, hesitation move. Bard last year led the Blackhawks with a career-high 67 points at only age 19. But the expectations for Dimick are so high. Here’s Bedard. He’ll bang it back in the net. Oh, big check delivered behind the net. Zidorov and this one. Bernard rips it and scores. Bernard got free at the top of the circle and he rifles it by Corposello. Bruins won, Blackhawks one. I don’t know if it was indecision or just was going to pass it and didn’t think he had a play and all of a sudden the puck turns over. Makes a big hit right there, but now there’s a seam pass available. Bruins trying to take away the middle of the ice. Bard went right through the top of the paint. Now he gets lost in coverage. Trying to dish it ahead. Flipped out by Fraser Mitten. And Mitten with a little space to the circle. That change up stopped by Solder Bloom League. Juan Razer to your point when the Bruins last year were engaging in trade talks with the Toronto Maple Leafs in the deal that sent Brandon Carlo north to the border. Don Sweeney said our scouts insisted that Fraser Mitten was a part of that deal. Played a couple of seasons of college hockey at Michigan. 13th overall he was taken by the Blackhawks in the draft. Het in. They score. This one ramps up and Crevier tucks it in behind Corposello. And I thought they were going to blow this play dead right there. There’s the early jump by Acimont. And I think this puck may have deflect a little bit of Jano. I mean both he and Baddard talking about Asiman on the move before the puck was actually dropped. They let the play continue off the wall. Arvdson Bernard Krebier shoots kicked out by Corposello Mack away across Yoki Haru. His shot sails to the glass. Asim playing in an elevated role with Jano and Mitten. Asim shoots fired. They score. Tanner Jano just off the right post. His first as a Bruin. Bruins two. Blackhawks too. The Bros starting to pick it up. Pick it up the pace. Starting to think the game a little quicker. That means you’re going to move a little quicker. You’re going to find some open people a little quicker and you’re going to make better decisions. There you go. Take it back to where they made two, three passes in a row led to a scoring chance. Then they started to spend some time in the offensive zone. Charlie Makavoy let a rush not once but twice. And even in the middle of a line change, you’re able to keep pressure in the offensive zone. the advantage of the second period. Couple of good looks and all of a sudden you got the lead. Geeki walks in, shoots in the save. He was able to walk into a great shooting position. We’ll take a look at Boston’s opportunity here. This is what we’re talking about. Looking everybody off. I mean, that’s between the hashbox point. For a second, it looked like that was the shift you were talking about. sent out in front and Renzel stopped by Corposel. It’s going to be really important this month of October with the amount of games that they’re playing. You get a great win last night to to continue that process to build a team and believe in yourselves. This a huge third period. Bruins start with possession. Post catches. Power play looking for its first shot on goal of the night. Sent across. Fought for they score. [Music] I think it might have been a last little back door who swept it by a ball at Solder Bloom. A power play goal. Bruins three. Blackhawks two. Oh, net. They can’t defend against you guys when you attack the net from close range. This isn’t a tape to tape pass. It’s defended by Murphy with his skates, but the puck’s still available. Attack the net from close range. And Lynholm just able to reach in and hammer this puck before Sodblum could get that pad across before Murphy could make a play. Terabina trying to wrestle it free m here’s Mackoy walks in. Geeky centers play shoots. Sold the save. The puck wouldn’t set up for Postm shoots. Sold kept it out of there. Bruins pushing hard to extend the lead here. Tail end of the five on four now again. places plays close to the net. Lynholm had to take that off his back hand first and by doing so that allows just enough time for Sod to middle stab. He opened the scoring for the Bruins. Terrain and scoops it up. He’ll head up. He’s got numbers. Lechov drops forky shoots and scores. Walked right down the gut. Bruins three, Blackhawks three. Just talked about details with a 3-2 lead. [Applause] [Music] Get the defense during the rush. Now Barovsky, he’s the third forward. He’s coming late. I mean, generally it’s the defenseman that’s coming late. Mackoy center deflected packing away. Sold him down. Now Mackoy [Applause] wheel his way over the spoke B feeds to Corali. Mackoy shoots the save. If you’re just joining us, Lynholm hurt in the first period. Zenora just crushed Renzel over on the far side. He takes it down the wall. He’s looking. He tries that little spin move. You’re already committed to the hit. Bernard Leoff. grab far side centered out in front of down and Corposal with the left leg tucking in on the stick side. Bruins do enough along with Corposal to not allow that. And then he was wide open. Mitten twoon one maybe three. Mitten centered. So blue stop with the right leg on Jano. The Bruins retrieve the puck and in transition they get numbers themselves. I thought Jano was going to elevate this puck on the pass from Mitten assuming they kill this uh 4 seconds. Consider it killed. So each team will pick up a point. [Music] So they do a drive scrape. The teams change hands. Zaka Posternok Mackabo. Possession to Bedard. Flipped to the middle. Vlic back to Bedard. He’ll crisscross to the far circle. Renzel centers Corposel. What a save on Nazar. [Applause] There’s the second one on the same plastic. Twoon one. Shoots just wide. Look out here. It’s going to be a twoon. Bernard and Nazar. Bernard walks in. shoots perfectly save flash over the top and then Bard on a breakaway pins him in a corner and it switchs to Mitten. He’s going to have a long twoon one with Geeky Mitten game on his stick. Walks in, shoots, he scores. [Applause] Bruins win. Fraser men the game winner in overtime and the Bruins went back to back to start the regular season was just fantastic. I mean that’s a great defending play by Zidorov Chicago. They’re two deep. Mitten reads it nicely. His timing was good and then the confidence not to defer to the veteran. I mean, if you’re going to allow me to improve my angle, you’re going to allow me to get to the dot and overplay the pass, I’m taking the shot, and it’s a beauty. Block aside inside that far post to win it in OT. Wow, that’s a huge two points for Boston right there. What a way to start the season. And what a huge team building moment. One of the things Brick talked about late stages of the game. So, the Bruins victorious 4 to3 in OT. They win the home opener. They’re 2 and 0 to start the season. [Music]

Casey Mittelstadt, Elias Lindholm and Tanner Jeannot found the back of the net, while Fraser Minten buried the game-winning goal in overtime, to help the Boston Bruins beat the Chicago Blackhawks 4-3.

  1. 😁😁😁😁Taha Ha Ha Ha!. Blackhawks got a 2 on 0 breakaway could not score. Bs got 2 on 1 break, they scored. Ruins are 2-0 with this young season.

  2. Hawks played good but damn clean up the front of the net! Looking and chasing the puck, NO! Make sure you cover your man, clear em' out, get a stick in there. 3 goals they got in the crease!

  3. Chicago didn't look awful, Boston had some good looks, overall inconsistent but looked like a good game. Korp had some monster stops, and did anyone have Jeannot playing well on their bingo card? Because I sure as hell didn't.
