Hello, it’s your favorite sports here. Don’t forget to hit that subscribe button to join the fastest growing community on YouTube. Remember, night cap doesn’t happen without you. So, please subscribe or you’re going to make oo cry. Oo. Arizona Cardinal head coach Jonathan Ganon said he apologized to the team for the sideline confrontations with Omari de Mario. Mardo, excuse me. Uh during which Ganon appeared to strike the thirdyear running back. Ganon said, “I woke up this morning and I didn’t feel great about it, honestly.” So, in the team meeting, I addressed it. I apologized to Omari. I apologized to the team and I just told them uh I kind of let the moment of what happened get the better of me. Obviously, I try to be emotional sta emotionally stable and calm because my job is to solve problems during the game and kind of lead the charge on that. So, it’s really not who I am and I want to be. It’s not who I want to be. It’s not it’s really not about that’s not who I really am. When people’s emotions are high, logic is low. Like you always say, you’re a coach understanding that you you’re probably going to lose a game based on a bonehead play that a player does. You’re not thinking about, okay, I know he did that, but let me not react. No, let me not react. No, players get coaches fired. Yes. For situations like you just saw. You’re right. I think he is in his well right to be able to react how he sees fit. Now, I know public opinion, you can’t do that in this day and age, in this era. It’s okay. Sometimes you should be able to chastise your player regardless of whether he makes millions of dollars or not. There are certain things you should not do in a game. It’s a game of inches. It’s a game of inches. Every play matters. That play mattered because of that play in that mistake. You lost the game. You going to put the game out of reach. You about to go up 28 to6. Hey, but listen, I I understand him. He has to apologize. Um, obviously the era I grew up in. That’s the way that’s the way they handled. Oh, for sure. That’s that’s the way they handled us. It’s not it’s it’s frowned upon today in today’s game regardless of what level of football you play. But you never made it to the side. Had that happened. That was never a thing. I don’t remember that ever happened. Had you had you did a play like that when I was growing up, Yeah. you wouldn’t have made it to the sideline. Co would have grabbed you by your face mask and pulled your ass off the field. Man, listen. And I ask you this every time. Hey Chad, let me know Chad if you ever saw this. Think about I think about Miami. I think about Liberty City, the inner city, where I grew up, the way the high schools, the the optimist clubs, and the way the coaches coach. And I think one of the reasons why we are all so great and so many of us come out of our area and flourish at the highest level despite circumstance, despite obstacles is because of us becoming numb to the way we’re the way we’re coached as hard as it is and being used to the cursing and the hollering, especially in pressure situations. We’re already built for it. We’re already built for it. The documentary I asked you about a while ago called The Year of the Bull. Did you never did see the Year of the Bull, huh? It’s a documentary on Miami Northwestern. The way the coaches were back then and the way they coach some of those teams. Um, unbelievable. Chad, I don’t know if you you any of you saw the year of the Bull, the documentary about Miami Northwestern where Teddy Bridgewwater went. A lot of NFL players that are in the league now and former NFL players, um, dog, it’s a reason why they’re so great. It it’s it’s a reason because they’re not baby. They’re not they’re not pampered when it comes to playing the position. I mean the the the sport of football and at times it’s needed because you you you look at some of the mistakes that that we make today. Parents, you can’t skull your kids. You can’t beat your kids the way you used to. It’s frowned upon. Some of the mistakes and kids being out of control back then. Yeah. It was a village. It did. It was. You weren’t getting away with some of that stuff. Today, man, I’m I’m in the grocery store. I’m I’m hearing kids cussing at their mama like what you I don’t want I don’t [ __ ] want to do it. What when we go we going in the stove your mama tell you getting out the car we going in the stove don’t ask me for [ __ ] don’t touch ish and don’t touch nothing and when you go in the stove you going to do two things you’re not going to touch nothing and you ain’t gonna ask him for nothing. Now, what you might do, you might sneak some sneak some in the buggy and hope she pay for it when she pull everything out when you get to the register. Not Mayor Porter. Mayor Porter going to say, “Take that is back where you got it from.” And then going to hit you upside your head and say, “I told you not to put nothing in my buggy.” Now, my grandma Reedville, that was a whole different story. See, like grandparents, oo, we stayed with Mary and Barney. So my other grandparents, my dad’s mom and and father, they didn’t see us that much. So what they going to do? Give us whatever we want. Soon as we hit the door, papa drop us off. Uh uh uh. Granddaddy William and Grandma Charlie, we call her. Charlie, here go them boys. Oo, I got my little bag. Soon as I hit the door, Grandma Charlie, can we go to the grocery store? All right. Uh uh uh uh. William, granny. William, load the cop. Hot dogs. hot dog buns, honey buns, potato chip, soda, cuz all she drank was tab soda. I don’t know if anybody remember old enough to remember tab in that pink can. That was nasty. But boy, man, if she said, “Well, we going to go to the store later. Here, here’s a dollar for you and spanking. Give me a dollar.” Boy, we hit that door. There’s a store probably like 50 by 50 yards. Kill it. But man, Porter, we going on Saturday because really that’s the only time we went shopping. Saturday, maybe. Maybe like a Friday afternoon. Papa would take us, we go pick up Granny. She had to got paid. She going to go cash a check and then we’ll go. But we already know. Why don’t you put Why, please? But you’re right, Oo. Like there was a I don’t know. And maybe maybe because it was always that way, Oo. But we didn’t have the internet. Everything wasn’t filmed. So maybe kids were just as respectful then disrespectful then as they are now. It’s hard for me to believe that, but I just know from what I saw, but them parents ain’t play that. Them parents ain’t play that. Now, every once in a while, you might see, you know, the white people, they they were a little bit more okay. Okay, mom, I’m not going to do it. Mhm. But the black kids, boy, please. Bet they play that. Wherever Mary Porter say, wherever you show out, you get woe out. Get wo matter grocery store, it didn’t matter. walking on the street. It didn’t matter. It didn’t matter. You You going to get it. You going to get it right then and there. Hold on. Hold on. I’m thinking I’m slick. You know when when it’s a senior quiet time and my grandma in church and she see me acting up in the pew, she ain’t got to do nothing. Look at you. Just just stare. And you already know, man. Come on, man. The the the the saying, it takes a village. Um I’m telling you, man. Them days back then, man. Them ‘ 80s and them early 90s, man. Them people ain’t playing. Nah, people ain’t play. You going to act up well. Don’t make me call your grandma. My grandma was up in trilus. Oo. My grandma be My grandma be in church. I start crying. I already know. She say she gonna cut my tail. I already know what she saying. Oo. Hey. Hey. Listen. Hold on. My grandma used to come on on my arm and pinch. She had pinch my arm and twist and then you know you’re so young once you start crying you crying out loud. So she reached right in that purse. She give me either that butterscotch candy or peppermint to get me to get quiet. Oh boy days boy. Great. But see we we got them butterscotch that’s already out the rapper. It got mint. Got everything. Got a penny stuck to it. I’m like, “Hey, can we get some candy with the wrapper on?” Granny, you gave me that butterscotch. That that peppermint that got got lin on it. It got little cotton fuzzy. It got a penny or a dime stuck to it. I was like, “Get here.” Hold on. Hey, y’all y’all had y’all had uh the candy with a strawberry. Yeah. Yes. You know what I’m talking about? The Oh, man. Man, listen. Boy, but but but to get back on this football thing, it’s different and I get it sometimes. What I mean that was some some coaches that was abusive what they did. Obviously you can’t coach like that. But that’s why that’s why it would be hard for me to coach Oo cuz you know better. You’ve seen it. You just saw last week Mitchell do it and it cost himself a 76y touchdown. So and it and if they lost the game I think too, didn’t he? Didn’t they lose to the Rams? The Colts didn’t the Colts lose that game when Mitchell bobbled it? I’m not sure. I think they did. I’m not sure. Yeah, they lost to the Rams. Oo. Yeah. So, you’ve seen it happen, but yet you still doing it. I just I I I I I just like like Hey, like the 100 meters. Anybody that breaks in the open from now on, cross through the line. You should pretend like you’re running the 100 cuz you’re not you’re not going to slow up before you cross that line. Same thing in football. Cross that line. Heat. Heat. N. [Music]

This is why these kids cant be told what to do. You need a whooping you need discipline now kids know you cant do anything to them so they don respect anyone.
He lucky that’s all he did
You can't hit employees.
I would love to see a documentary on Unk’s childhood, I feel like I know granny myself 😂❤
I understand but dont put your hands on anyone.
You ain't lie for the most part, but it wasn't just sneak it in the cart and hope it slide. It was put it in our pocket and hope we ain't get caught, but im the next generation after ocho. Dade county raised though and it was very different. Which is a blessing, the same shit that made me mad and turned me into a thug, is the shit I'm eternally grateful for, and the struggle isn't over for me. Still grinding and fighting. Blessed, but it ain't sweet fr.
Thats a grown man what yall said if that running back whipped that coach ahh he would been wrong
Dad used to tell me and my cousin going into the store "don't touch nothing, dont ask for nothing, cuz you ain't getting nothing."
So, we aren't going to talk about the coach putting hands on him.
Yeah, I honestly don’t really care if it’s frowned upon by some people, when I have kids, they’re gonna be disciplined and raised properly. They wanna cuss me out in the store, they’ll get a public beating in the store.
Exactly, Men. This is NOT Lil' League. A Coach should be able to chastise a Player for THAT scoring ERA (that's not a mistake). He knew better. Oh, and a great play call by the OC to get him in the enzone.
Man everything yall said ya grandmas did to yall mine did the exact same thing to me lol Tab soda, butterscotch and strawberry candies pinch and twist the whole nine
Where is that discipline now for the Blacks? What happened
There’s nothing wrong with checking someone. Don’t put your hands on that grown man.
Ain’t nun wrong with tearing into him but don’t put yo hands on another grown man
Bullshit what if it happen to you.. stop it!!
Like TJ Housmandzadeh said, he knew who wouldnt swing back. Theres a reason he doesnt hit kyler when he throws away games every week
That’s cuz this new age football is soft!! We tell the parents still till this day we are gonna get on you these kids if yall can’t handle it this ain’t the team for them period! Football is soft now
my mom growing up , just whisper in my ear….. " gimmie a reason " ….. tan my hide if i acted up
This new generation is so soft coaches shouldn't have to walk on eggshells when players do dumb shit like that costing the team the game.
Shoulda went upside his head like most Black parents would do when their kids do something dumb!!
My father woke me up every morning with more than Demercado got 😎 We live in a cupcake 🧁 universe in 2025. People acting like it's PJ Carlisimo and Latrell Sprewell in reverse 😂
Ya being born in 83. I understand what they are saying. We were raised different. If I threw a fit in a store, my mom walked my butt out, left the cart and that was that. There was no nice talk, one warning and then consequences for actions.
It would be a different conversation if it were Shedeur Sanders being hit on the sideline.
Candy with a penny stuck to it 🤣 so true
Love me some night cap
Demercado is lucky he doesn't have a old school head coach cause he prolly would've lost his job if he did.
THANK YOU!!!!!!!! THEY ACT LIKE HE SLAPPED HIM IN THE FACE
I feel like Chad can be a hypocrite as well because you said that it takes a village but you can't characterize every child especially black as bad people need to train up their children in the way that they should go ochocinco if you gonna talk about bad black kids then you might as well put yourself in that category
I remember TAB! Nastiest drink ever invented. 😂
We used to get slapped up doing shit like that, that was tame
as a kid, coaches have hit us on the shoulder pads/chest area. If he would have hit him without his pads on that would be different. that coach only did that because he had pads on, that shit is normal
If I misbehaved in the store, don't think for a second my grandma didn't ask the customer service people to vacate so she could take me behind the counter and beat some manners into me. LOL! Had a coach that occasionally wouldn't let a player ride home on the bus if they cost us a game, you had to find your own way back. If you screwed up in practice, she'd make you run a mile (after a four hour practice) for each mistake.
DIS HOW U KNO NFL SOFT ASF NOW 😂
"Numb" is a bit misleading, I think it's more conditioned. Pressure is a privilege and pressure makes diamonds.
I tell my kids that if they touch anything that I'll put them on a shelf and sell them. They will won't touch anything to this day
This isn’t little league… grab a grown man and deal with the consequences. Discipline but keep your hands to yourself
People are idiots, Harrison is an idiot. So if Gannon did what he did physically if Demarcado scored a td that's fine, but its not fine if he screwed up? The action is still the same. Mcvay can push a player in chest after they score, that's ok though
Demercado should pay his coach’s fine. They say a game is never lost on one play but that play cost Arizona the game.
In Little League and HS, a coach grabbing you by your facemask and screaming was normal . You were a kid and overlooked it. A grown man punching you in the NFL is a different thing. Coach pulled that on somebody he knew wasn't going to retaliate.
My daddy whooped my ass in Neels for crying for a toy
Why they wanna use the term this day and age? A coach's job is to coach. Not baby you. Players are to soft and emotional. They can't handle someone yelling at them.
Shannon has said multiple times before that he’s not cool with a coach cursing at him, but a coach putting his hands on a player is ok? Seems hypocritical to me. Coaching hard is one thing. Putting hands on a grown man in a processional setting is another.
