Cleveland Cavaliers vs Chicago Bulls Full Game Highlights Oct 9, 2025 NBA Preseason

Great mindset. I’m a big fan of Modis. I think he’s got superstar potential. It’s just how much he wants it and continue to work hard. What a terrific start for him to his sophomore year. It’s Allen inside and he’s fouled headed to the free throw. They just ran a little cross screen that time and forced to switch. They got an easy opportunity for Allen. Great feat, right? Yes. Both those guys. Well, you know what? Uh Allen has really worked on his game. When he was in Brooklyn, he was just a shot blocker, rim runner. He has really turned himself into an offensive threat. They’re giving him balls inside now. He’s running the floor. He’s got a little 18 to 20 foot jump shot now. He’s become more offensive mind. He’s worked on his game tremendously over the last few years. A little more aerodynamic this year too. A little less up top on the floor for Allen who hits a couple of free throws for the Cavs to open it up after the foul on Giddy who didn’t play the second half the other night for the Bulls. That was precautionary, but they expect to get him more minutes tonight in this second preseason game. A corno in traffic and Zack Collins starting for boots tonight who’s out with rest with the first miss. I thought Zack Collins came in at that second group and played extremely well in the post. Very efficient. Seven of eight in the opener and that three goes down for DeAndre Hunter. Well, this first group from Cleveland in that first quarter got off to a very good start. The Bulls turned the ball over quite a few times in that first quarter. Then they were able to settle down with that second group that came in. It was an 186 jump for the Cavs the other night. Then the Bulls came storming back with that second group. Ended up winning by one in Cleveland on Tuesday night. Wait the clock for Giddy. Behind the back is stolen by Mitchell. Clear pass from Mitchell who cruises in for two. This is why they’re the favorite to come out of the Eastern Conference this year. They are their starting five. You get Darius Don back with the addition of Lonzo Ball with the team. That’s a nice move. They are they are a very good basketball team. Had there not been for injuries in that first game against Cleveland, against Indiana last year, they would have been healthy. That have been a great series. But when Indiana played, I don’t know. They were on a hot streak. Yeah. This guy going to the line. Moy was out. It’s basically Donovan Mitchell for himself for a lot of those stretches in that playoff series. And you had Darius Garnum was out with a toe injury. So, it really hurt them. They were depleted big time. And I think they kind of underestimated Indiana. I think they thought going into that series that they could beat Indiana. They had success against them all year. They had the best record in the NBA all season. They were number one seed. And you know, sometimes you overlook teams. That’s what’s exciting about the East this year. Obviously, the Cavs and Kenny Atinson one of the favorites, but That’s why you play the game. That’s the way you play the game. But all the injuries this year, Boston, Indiana, a lot of people change teams, you know, it’s wide open. The team you really need to keep an eye on, two teams. I said this the other night is Atlanta and Detroit. Giddy lost it on the way up and then took steps on the second try. Didn’t like the call. And the turnover gives it back to the Cavs. Here he is right here. He saw see those two guys coming over. Those are rim protectors right there. The bigs for the Bulls have to make themselves available and give Josh and Albert the pass. El tonight at that five spot. This whistle on the ground on Okoro. That’s his first second against the Bulls in this first. So just rest tonight in this second preseason game. You also have Kevin Herder and Julian Phillips dayto day out of the Bulls lineup just for this game. And a foul on Giddy say no shot on the ground on Giddy his second. There’s Kobe right there sitting out too with that calf injury. Pretty optimistic outlook from Billy Donovan before the game. He said maybe the final preseason game for Kobe. Get him back in there. Oh, come on now. This is a lot of whistles being blown. We thought it was a lot of whistles the other night. That’s two fouls on Modis. Bonus already. Yeah, the bonus. But 10, you know, 10 minutes to go in the first quarter. Cavaliers. I’m sure the word discrepancy will be used from the Bulls bench at some point. 5 nothing with the team fouls. Moy first. He got that. There’s single game tickets available now for all Bulls home games. See all the action at the United Center with exciting matchups all season long. Visit bulls.com/tick to secure your seats today. Billy giving Tyler Ford the official ear to like, hey, listen, there’s two teams out here playing. It’s 5-0 on fouls. But the hard thing, right, for the Bulls, they want to be more physical and tight whistle could be their enemy early in this season. They try to establish that defensive identity. a point for three short and Allen with the rebound for the Cavs. You look to push with Tyson and that’s into the back court. Can’t do that. Hustle. Good hustle by there. But one of the things, you know, you have to understand when you’re trying to bring this physicality identity that the Bulls are trying to you’re going to get foul calls and the more you are aggressive and the officials start to see that, okay, this is the way they play, then they’ll ease up on the on the whistle. But when they’re not used to seeing you play aggressive like this, this is a little bit out of character for them and they look at it that way. But once you start playing this every way, every game Allen with the block on Giddy 102 start for the Cavs. Mitchell cruises in and Giddy Cleveland up [Applause] with the the physicality part and the pace for the Bulls. They want to work quickly and they’ve come out cold on the miss for Auroro. There’s no running the floor and throwing it down. And that’s a luxury having bigs that are interchangeable in the post and on the perimeter to be able to run the course, get out in the transition. Both Allen and Mobly, guys, you got to check in transition for the Bulls tonight as Collins splashes down to three. Leave that bucket right there. That’ll get him going. A very cold and foul heavy start for the Bulls, but Collins maybe can get him settled if they get a stop. Giddy with eyes up. He’s got a mismatch with the big and gives it up for a corner three. And that bang bang bang results. M is calling for that ball all the way down the floor. Good find by Giddy. Giddy sprays it out. Backto back threes go down for the Bulls after the cold start. And now the defense turning up. This will stay. That was a good effort by Trey Jones that time. He was trying to battle inside with Don Mitchell. There you see Mosquire spurs it out wide open catch and shoot. Squares up nicely. Bang bang bang. And that’s what he’s worked on this summer is making that shot. He’s got to continue to shoot that with confidence. No thinking, just let it go. Well, that looks like late season. Modis Bzelis shot over 40% from three in that 15 and five stretch. That missed everything. Bulls will have a five on four if they hurry. Tyson back behind the play. Takes advantage. That’s why I was soantd loves to play downhill. This system is really just made for his style of play. It showed that the other night in a quick burst to start this game as Mitchell lines in a three to stop the 80s run. That’s an all-star player making an all-star play. Dou after his bucket gives it up and Tyson running the floor. Collins lets him have it for the dunk. That time Collins didn’t see him on the other side. Kind of had his head turned. Got to hustle back to that paint. So the Bulls answered the 10-2 Cavs run to open it up with an 80 run and another turnover back to back for Io. again and he was deterred by IO getting back. Yeah, there’s good hustle by IO. Tyson Lake getting back. Dou can’t make him pay. And that’s Cavs basketball. Checking in for the Cavaliers. Number 32. So, an active beginning for Iowa. Quick basket, turnover, miss shot in three straight trips. Well, and and what he’s going to bring off the bench. Last year, they really missed him when he hurt that shoulder. I remember in New York when he hurt that shoulder, he played through it, but you knew it was something serious cuz I doesn’t miss games. He’s one of the most durable players on this team. Kind of plays the game like a football player. He just plays through things. He never complains. Never complains about his roles. He’s play he’s been in multiple roles since they drafted him. And he plays him to the fullest. And And this is an opportunity this year for him to come off the bench. And Billy’s going to use him. Billy trusts Io. He trusts him and he’s whether he’s playing the point, whether he’s playing the two or the three. Right now, he’s kind of playing the small forward position. So, one, two, three. He can play those several positions and and play him well as well. They can just play. He’s a Chicago kid. He’s tough. They just love to play. Chicago kids are built different. They sure are. IO back in front of the home fans tonight for the first time. had a quick bucket just off one drill of scrimmage all training camp, but the goal obviously is to have him ready for playoff basketball. I also briefly caught up with Lonzo. He said he’s thrilled to be back here. He had a healthy offseason. He’s looking to have a good year, guys. Casey, great to see him back here tonight. And it stays a little misty over there, Lonzo, watching that tribute. I’ll tell you what, I mean, when he’s healthy, he’s one of the best point guards in the league. And I I look at him, you know, last year people saw he was injured, but it wasn’t his knee. You know, he missed all those times with his knee, but he had no knee problems last year. It was a wrist injury that he hurt against Memphis in Memphis, and it bothered him all season long. That’s the reason why he missed so many games. But when he is on the floor, he makes everybody better. And I go back to when the Bulls first got him. Had he not gotten hurt, and the Bulls were like a number one seed going into, you know, the second half of that season. had he not got hurt. And you know, the Bulls chances, I don’t know how far they would have gone, but let’s say they wouldn’t have been in the playing game. Okay. And I think you’re going to see him do the same kind of uh impact that Russo had in Oklahoma City with this team. Sudo bags a three. And that’s a nice shot there because Cleveland went to a little two-3 zone that time and was daring the Bulls to shoot. So, five quick points for Do after a good opener in Cleveland the other night. Tyson short and one and done with Collins on the rebound. Well, that swap of course Lonzo ball traded for Isaac Okoro who gives it up for Ellis. His second three of the night. Good extra pass that time too. Ball went inside. Kicked it to a corner. He made the extra pass to Modis. Drains it. A couple open looks from that left side of the floor for Gonzalez and Moley is back to the free throw line. the ball was over 35 second. You talk about ball movement. That’s a nice other team’s a point guard, too. You got giddy at his size and then bring Jones in as more the true point guard. This lineup is so interchangeable. I mean, they’ve got a lot of guys who used to be guard heavy. I mean, you know, the Bulls were guard heavy. Last year they needed to be because there were so many injuries. But this year, this balanced out now. You got bigs, you got forwards, you got guys that can play multiple positions, two or three positions, which is important. Here’s Patrick Williams right now. can play some forward, some three. Here’s Giddy creating his own right over Dean Wade that time. Tough shot. That’s something the Bulls want to see a little more of is is Giddy getting his own. Been such a good creator in his time at the Bull so far. Hunter for three. Knocks it down. Another area they want to see Josh get good at too is defense. Being able to go out there and not have teams go at you and single you out. To be able to stay in front of guys cuz he rebounds like a small forward. I mean, he he’s going to get you every night. He’s going to float around with a triple double. Almost averaged one late in the season and almost gives this one away. Strapped for it at half court and this will stay with the Bulls with five on the shot clock. And one thing you notice about the really good teams in this league, they have active hands. See right here, watch in the passing lane. They’re Oklahoma City is one of the best at that and getting turnovers. just getting their hands on a lot of basketballs in the passing lanes and that’s where you want to see the Bulls and Billy’s talked about being physical as well. End of the clock and that’s a shot clock violation. Moy got it on the way up and it goes back to Cleveland. Cavaliers again their reputation of being a good defensive team. I think it’s preceded out here this they haven’t got a foul yet. Yep. And and their preseason talk is getting greedy. They were eighth in the NBA in defense last year. They want to be top five to match with their terrific offense. Well, and they have the capability of doing that, you know, and it starts out starts with your guards. I mean, Don Mitchell, those guys, you know, they can gamble so much because you got the shot blocking ability of Allen and Mobly back there. You, you know, they cover up for a lot of mistakes. Williams challenging the interior. It’s stripped. Craig Porter came over to help. He’s open. He has a three in the books. And that time you heard the coach say shoot it. He was wide open. He came in and sparked him in that bench game off the bench last game. Stick five from Porter and a foul in tight. A ball in there reaching in on Terry who heads to the free throw line for the Bulls. There’s a nice dive by Dalon Terry here. It is right here. Pass and then quick cut. Boom. Fake the down screen. Experience Minnie’s famous popcorn spill and get complimentary popcorn. Visit bulls.com. Once once the Bulls made those trades, that team just jailed. They just jailed. They they they played hard on both ends. And the way they finished up, it gave you some encouragement how this season is going to be. You know, they’re going to come in and and probably ride some momentum. And I thought in that first game in Cleveland, we saw some good things. We saw some bad things in the first part, the first quarter, the turnovers, and the they’re going to have turnovers because they’re trying to play fast. They’re trying to play fast. They were one of the fastpaced teams in the NBA last year. So, there’s going to be some turnovers, but you want to see improvement on the defense. You want to see them turn the ball over. There you go, Mr. Smith. And they they got to get they got to get him some more minutes. He’s got to play this year. This guy I’m a big fan of him when he was in Phoenix. I mean, he’s a guy he can put the ball on the floor. He can shoot the three. Here he is right here. He’s going to go in. He’s long. He’s athletic. Both him and Collins are really good assets for the Bulls. They they are legit guys that can play the four or the five. You can play him with Booch. They have the ability to play on the floor. He’s got to get more playing time this year, man. He he’s he’s going to be a good good player for them. Stacy, you mentioned his time in Phoenix, also Indie after that, conference finals and both of those stuff. So, he’s he’s been on winning teams. Three-point play for Jaylen Smith. Wade, sharp shooter out there. can’t hit. Terry with his eyes up, put foot on the gas and knocked away and back out to Doumu and Giddy to slow it for the Bulls. Five off the bench. He’s giddy in. And that was good recognition that time. They There’s a lot of switching going on out there. And both IO and and Josh Giddy recognized they had bigger guys on them and went right to the rim. The Bulls within two. The wave passes on Mitchell and he drains it. The MVP candidate finished fifth in MVP voting last year. Donovan Mitchell a couple of trays to open up his night in this first. Sumu shot looked inside to Gidd. He wasn’t there. Now Smith tight roping baseline. [Music] And a timeout on the floor with about two and a half to go in this first. The Bulls have basketball back at the UC pre-season game number two. First at home, the home opener in the regular season just 13 days away. October 22nd when the regular season begin. Mitchell walks. Giddy gets him organized. Terry taking a look down to two. One on the clock. Giddy. Oh my goodness. Oh, baby. Flashbacks a lot. Says, “Oh, Elizabeth, I’m coming.” Elizabeth the big one. Well, he just threw it up there. Watch. There’s no time left. He just catch throws. Josh Giddy, I tell you, man, he’s made some incredible shots this last year and a half. What Adam say on that shot against LA? Improbable. Improbable. Shout out to my man Adam mean. The shot put from Giddy. Closes the first. Tied at 32. Billy Donovan collection in front of us. Oh yeah, that’s it. Every game the players bubble gum, starburst. You know, a good end of the quarter for the
