Sixers All-Access: Wheels Up to Abu Dhabi

15 hours. 15 hours. I’m hanging with my best friend. No way. Go sleep. Sweet. Well, first of all, it’s always a great honor to be a part of any of the overseas exhibitions or regular season games. And we’re really looking forward to going to Abu Dhabi. I think an overseas trip will help the team a lot just because we get to bond a little more. Chemistry going to grow. I mean, we’re out of the country, so we all going to stick together the whole time. Anytime you get on there playing as a team is a way to, you know, get to know each other, whether it’s the new guys, the old guys, you know, and that’s where it starts. That’s how you become a team. feel like I’m at home. Uh they made me feel very comfortable. They had me do one of their traditional dances, too. So, uh like I’m a part now. We’re in a completely different mindset this year. We understand you know what we are going to do, what we want to do, our roles. We understand every single opportunity that we have upon us. I think hard work and hustle is is everything in a winning culture. Honestly, those two things that you have to lay your head on, especially every single time you step on the court. When I’m playing in front of thousands and millions, the the work that I put in in the dark time is always going to come to light. And I want that to be everybody’s reality here. And that’s the culture that we’re trying to build. A talent with no hard work can only take you so far. But when you combine both, it’s going to take you a long way. So to be able to combine that with the talents we have, I believe that’s going to take us a long way. Hey family, on 1 2 3 got after it, you know, we got to sweat that jet lag out. Um, most importantly, man, we went hard. It was efficient. It was fun. So it was exciting day. They got to inspire and continue to get better. Winning is nothing like winning. Here we go. Here we go. Hey, win on three. One, two, three. It was a great experience, you know, to be able to show we care, to share the knowledge we have, to spend time with the kids, which was the most important thing, you know, it was amazing. They came with a lot of energy and they kind of set the bar high. We had to match it. So, this is a great experience. I love every bit of it. what we do next. All right, let’s go. Let’s go. Amazing as always. You know, I love doing this kind of stuff, man. So, always enjoyable. Energy is always high. Uh the kids were great. They were listening. They were willing to learn and most importantly, we had fun here today. So, This is like a runway. NBA Abu Dhabi games are elite cuz I got to play my first actual NBA game. So, I’m looking forward to that. None of my family members ever watched me play basketball before live. But that’s going to change in Abu Dhabi. my brothers are going to be watching me play a basketball game ever. When I knew we’re playing Abu Dhabi, I I thought I was probably going to be like my best shot, I walked and try and see if I could get them a visit to um Abu Dhabi and um eventually walked with the help of so many people and um I was really excited just like actually see me be on the court has never happened. I’ve been playing basketball for almost like nine years now and they haven’t seen me. So, um I’m really excited for that one and u yeah there is no word to describe this feeling. Nowhere actually uh it’s my first time watching my brother live. Uh the goosebumps are out. 16 from UC We go. We go. We go. Let’s go. Let’s go. Let’s go. Let’s go. Come out. This is my house. my boy. Yeah, it’s uh words can’t actually describe it, but you know, they lost, but he had a good game. The belt’s been in the league. He’s going to compete. He never says never and he never gives up. Thanks, man. One of the mantras I have is is working extremely hard. You know, I tell people all the time like my job is to ensure that our coaching staff is is working as hard as anybody and that has to translate to the floor. Playing hard goes a long way in this league and we we believe in it. So that starts with kind of each and every day setting a tone of energy and work ethic and and toughness and physicality and couldn’t be happier with what we’ve done really through the summer and now through the fall. Just trying to work on that communication. Okay. Excellent job. Excellent job. Here we go. Here we go. The tone of the preseason workouts have just been, you know, really just getting it in. Guys are grinding. They’re going hard. They’re working hard. Team building that chemistry with others. I think it always carries over to to the season and guys are being very attentive to detail and the young guys are bringing I’m young too but the younger guys are bringing a different buzz to the city. I think everybody will be proud to see You know, we got to be tough. We’re building that mental toughness, physical toughness, and we’re also building our stamina. We’re just battling, man. Everybody has something to prove. Everybody, you know, is just competing at a high level. So, this is who we are. This is how we’re going to represent Philadelphia, represent ourselves each and every night. So, as long as we can stay disciplined and, you know, continue to focus on those things, I think we have a great chance of success.
