5. Should have happened last year, but no matter. I’m happy for Shine. Hope he chooses to stay with the organization until he hangs up his skates.

7. I’m kinda shocked it took so long

   For context, his first games with the Griffins, Tyler Bertuzzi, Evgeny Svechnikov, Martin Frk, Tomas Nosek, Joe Hicketts, Nicholas Jensen, Anthony Mantha, Drew Miller, Filip Hronek, Zach Nastasiuk, Dennis Cholowski, Jimmy Howard, and Jared Coreau all played in games for the Griffins that season.

8. They also put his photo up on the stadium exterior, big year for Shiner!

10. Only thing I don’t like about this is I feel like it’s less likely he gets called up, as you don’t want to lose your Captain. I liked the occasional Shine appearance on the wings, he brought a needed grit.

    That being said, this is deserved and I’m happy for him. Dude seems like a solid guy.
