LIVE: Postgame Media OTT 5 TBL 4
elves back. I don’t think so. I mean, I to be honest with you, I think we got a ton of energy from Dodge and Derby in their fights and uh you know, it always takes guts to, you know, uh put your body on the line and and you know, it might not have showed right away, but I think it showed um over the 60 minutes that uh know we’re going to keep coming and we’re going to have each other’s backs and and we’re going to be resilient all the way through. What areas of the team’s game specifically did you see change maybe going into the secondary? I think the maturity that we played with um really showed. I think you know there there’s times probably in the past where you know we try to make a play at all cost or or we’re down 3-1 we need to score score which at the end of the day we just need to play our game and and uh I feel like we did that and just trusted you know the process trusted in each other and and I really believe that that’s the reason why we won is is we did it together. Even if it’s the first game of the season and there’s a long season to go, how much value do you put in the resolve and what you guys are able to how you guys were able to respond to the adversity you felt in that first period? Well, I mean I it doesn’t matter that it’s game one 40 82. I think it’s a very positive sign um that you know the maturity that we have in the group and and that uh at the end of the day all the guys care about is winning. So um no, it’s all good. Um, yeah. So, it’s just, you know, continuing to persevere, continue to be resilient, and, uh, you know, that’s I’m happy that was a result of game one. Does that maturity just come from having the success last season, getting to the playoffs, and now the team, you know, starting to have more success? Is that the patience, the composure? Does that is that where that maturity comes from? I think so. I think it, you know, it comes a lot from, you know, last year and the experiences we had last year going into all those important games leading up to playoffs and playoffs itself. And you know I I just think uh you know our full commitment is just about winning and it’s not about uh you know how we do as individuals just it’s at at the end of the day it’s you know legacies uh are based on winning. So uh that’s our sole focus is is trying to get two points every night. What did you think of how Shane played tonight? He played awesome. I mean he’s such a guy that uh um embraces those those big moments and the moments that uh when not just a spark but no he he came with two huge goals. So, um, no, it’s very, very lucky to have a guy like that on our team and and I’m not shocked that, you know, he thrives in those big moments. You guys got a couple good looks on the power play as well. Dylan gets the goal. What did you like playing it on both sides tonight? I think uh, you know, for us is the work. Uh, it was a work based um, you know, power play that uh, you know, every loose puck get on it and and try to um, capitalize on a breakdown. So, um, you know, Cuz with a great great shot, great goal and I I feel like it uh, you know, gave some life to our group. What would you attribute the team start being shred down to? Was it nerves? Was it something else? Like, why do you think the team was in the hole to begin with before getting out of it? Uh, I don’t know. We’re going to have to probably look back and learn from that, but uh um yeah, I mean, of course, first game, their home opener, it’s it’s uh you know, they’re buzzing and uh excited to be playing for their home crowd. So, um I think you just have to, you know, wear that momentum and and uh yeah, I mean it’s just um something that we’ll have to look back and learn from. Thanks, guys. It’s tough to go on the road for their home on opener and uh and beat them. So, you know, great great game by us, but uh you know, there’s definitely some areas we got to clean up for for next game, but uh you know, all positives going forward. Zubie specifically seemed like he had a strong game, made that pass over to Shane on that breakaway goal. Maybe what do you see from your D partner in this one? Yeah, he had a great game. um you know, he was moving his feet, shooting the puck, and uh you know, he’s he’s one of the best defensive Dmen in the league. So, um you know, I’m really lucky to play with him. How much does that maybe help you have that stability with a guy on the on the other side of you? For sure. It’s huge. Um you know, if there’s a breakdown, you know, he’s going to be there. Um he’s so strong in the corners, allows me to jump up and make plays. So, um you know, I think we’re a good tandem. John, you go ahead. What did you see on that final on that on that game-winning play where you made a move to the net over a radish to get the puck put to Vasilleski? Yeah. Uh I honestly didn’t see a lot uh for a pass. So um you know I had speed just took it to the net and uh you know our forward stopped that net and you you get rewarded for that. So it was a good play. John Cooper mentioned earlier today that you and Ardum Zoo are basically not basically you guys are an elite batter. What does it mean to have that chemistry with Ardan and be considered as one of the best pairings in the game? Yeah. Uh I mean that’s a flattering compliment for sure for the both of us. But uh you know I think we’re just getting started. Um you know we we’ve played together in the past and I think we’re just continuing to build every single day. So um you know I think we’re yeah like I said we’re just getting started and uh yeah like I said before just super grateful to play with him. Where was the mindset at after the first 20 minutes where you’re down 3-1 and you’re thinking of anything you can do to get back in the game? Uh there was a lot of time left. Um we weren’t too worried. Obviously, they had uh you know, a few power play goals. It’s elite power play over there. You’re going to you’re going to try your best, but at the end of the day, they’re they have an extra man on the ice. So, um but you know, we uh we stayed resilient and just stuck with our guns and uh yeah, big comeback for us. Thank you. And he’s a very uh gifted player and you know he’s going to beat guys oneonone so just go to the end and get good things happen and that’s just what happened there. Overall maybe what are some of your first thoughts uh from tonight? Yeah, just a good team win. I think uh you know that first peri was a little hairy for us but stuck to it. That’s just a good way to start the year and you know it means nothing now. On to the next one. How much value do you put in a game like tonight where you have the comeback but this is only game one of 82. Yeah. You know you think you’re you know tonight we enjoy and then I mean it’s back to work tomorrow there’s 81 more games and you know it’s going to be a new team Saturday. We got to play the same way. Any nerves in that first period from anyone? Any reason why they were in the hold to begin with? Uh no I think you know I think you’re just trying to get into the game. There was a few penalties they scored, but I think mentally we stuck with it and it was it was good. It was good. It’s a good game for the boy. Okay. All right. Thanks, coach tight checking physicality to this game. Just maybe what did you see from your uh your Yeah, really great road game. Um you know, we last two periods we checked well. Uh we created a lot of chances. Uh great way to start the year. What kind of maybe shifted going into the second period? You know what? They got two power play goals. Um, I thought our five on five game in the first period was uh was pretty good. That’s that’s a great team over there. They came out flying. I thought uh but I I really liked our last two periods. Shane Pinto specifically against but also they went earlier. What do you see from this game tonight? Just solid game much like the rest of our team. Um I liked liked all our guys tonight. Everyone was good. Talk about that. Brady Kachchuck alluded to the fact that you guys seem to be a little bit more mature this year. you could see it in the game, the way you progressed. Did is that a factor, the maturity level in the conference? I think so. I think it’s just understanding our game. Uh, you know, and being honest about our game. I thought, like I said, the first period, uh, you take away the power play goals. We had a pretty good period. Uh, their goalie made some nice saves. Uh, probably pretty even game and we just had to stick with it. Are those adjustments on the PK you have to deal with or is that because it’s a pretty good? Yeah, they got I mean, it’s a little bit of both to be honest. I liked our kill uh later in the game though. was a lot more aggressive. How much value do you put in a win like tonight where you have the comeback, but of course it’s the first game of 82. I think every team wants to get off to a good start. Um, you know, a win’s a win. We talked to our team, two points now is just as important as two points later in the year, but uh, you know, there’s not a team in the league that doesn’t want to get out of the gate with with a win. So, it was nice to get one tonight for sure. What did you think of Jake Anderson and Darden Zoo together with not just on the point production they did but defensively as well? Yeah, I mean those guys have been partners for a while. We we expect a lot of things out of them and and they were both really good tonight.

Keep er going boys!!’
Great game tonight Let’s go Sens!!
Cousins doing the Chaching in the background of Pinto’s postgame is hilarious 😂😂😂
Gotta toss out that terrible pk system. Leaving players way too much space with zero pressure on the pp. Otherwise 👍
Wish you wouldn’t put the score in the title… spoils it if we haven’t seen the highlights…
What in the world was that production?
Sens are going to win the cup, the olympics, the WORLD!!!!
Really hope the sens do a post-game giveaway this year
Well done boys! Great comeback!
