In the 2025 Draft Class, we had an opportunity to grab Skattebo but passed and drafted Johnson in the 3rd. At the time, I really thought the Steelers would pick Skattebo after all the highly ranked RB’s were taken off the board. Johnston was a surprise pick for the announcers but I had faith the Steelers knew something. Push forward to week 6 and KJ doesn’t touch the field and quite literally cost us our only loss. There is still a lot of time for his development but man did he clearly lose trust from the coaching staff.
Skattebo just simply runs like a Steeler. It isn’t pretty, it isn’t flashy but boy is it mad, bullying running. In my opinion, exactly what the Steelers needed right about now. If our Third round pick was Skattebo over KJ, I believe we would be talking about a perfect draft class from the Steelers.

I’m not convinced Skatty is long for the NFL world. He gives me CTE watching him play. Second contract might elude him w the way he plays.
It was lowkey brain dead not to draft Skattebo but I guess they saw Warren as a similar profile and wanted a Najee type replacement so that’s why they chose KJ. This is why I hate analytics though because it’s never a bad idea to take the BPA at whatever position you’re picking, Skattebo would be great for us
It’s 4 games into his rookie season can we
at least give him a chance lmao
He would be sitting just like Johnson. Tomlin would not trust a rookie to play in his offense, too risky he might miss a block.
I just feel there is almost 0 chance he would have any success so far if he was drafted by Steelers.
I was hoping we drafted him. Even if he did, Steelers wouldn’t have given him anywhere near the amount of snaps Giants have
I didn’t want to draft him and said so on here. I didn’t think Scattebo’s game would translate well to NFL. He’s slower by NFL RB standards and bullied his way through college opponents. I thought the bigger stronger faster guys in NFL would expose his game , like what happened with Benny Snell. Boy was I wrong. The jury is still out on KJ but I’m hopeful
How many of these Skattebo posts (Skatte-posts?) do we need? I get that he was Mr. Do-It-All at ASU, but why are we elevating him to a folk hero?
Maybe if Johnson got some carries and some decent blocking, he’ll get some love. Probably not though. That would mean people here would admit they were wrong.
He’s averaging 4.1 ypc
You people bitched non stop about najees 4 ypc.
My head cannon is Tomlin saw Cam speed running CTE and had flashbacks to Brown and said some type of Tomlinism like **”Not enough tread on the tires”**
Then we’d probably still need to draft another RB in 1-2 years after Cam’s production drops from injuries or he’s just not available a big chunk of every year due to the way he plays. Hope I’m wrong but I think he’s in the NFL for a good time, not a long time. Even if KJ never works out, I don’t think it changes the prognosis for the team that much
The Steelers o line would shorten his career
If my grandmother had wheels she’d be a bike
What if we drafted Tom Brady? What if we drafted Randy Moss? What is we drafted…? Teams only have a handful of drafts picks for hundreds of potential draftees. It’s pointless to speculate because we could draft anyone and you never know who’s going to be a stud or a dud.
WHAT IF: we posted this same thing 4 more times on this sub
If you want to celebrate a bad team being so desperate that they have to start a rookie QB and RB within 3 games of the season, then by all means, go be a giants fan. But this is nothing more than a temporary feel-good story for a win starved franchise.
When this goes south for the Giants (and it will), people are going to grow very tired of him very quickly.
He is that guy in high school that was dumb, loud and overbearing and no one actually like him, but everyone kind of just put up with him bc he was crazy and bigger than everyone and you never knew if he was going to bag tag you or not.
Well quite a few things you missed during the draft cycle. KJ was considered a better RB than Skat basically across the board of evaluators. Scheme fit also comes into play. KJ is more of a wide/stretch zone guy, where Skat is inside zone or power. I thought Skat could play a role here, but he doesn’t fit the style they are trying to do. Najee was an inside zone/power runner… you saw how that looked trying to run him wide.
The announcers being surprised… probably due to us not taking Shedeur there, remember the guy the announcers thought we’d take in the first?
He’s not that good. I DID want them to draft Bhaysul Tuten though
Wait till you we drafted Jarvis Jones over Hopkins in 2013.
Skattebo is on a a tear for sure, not sure if it will last though.
I watched him here at ASU.I wanted the Steelers to draft him.Gives me James Connor vibes.
What if the Steelers drafted ANYONE over Johnson.
Sorry, but I don’t see a damn thing about him that says he’s gonna be in the NFL long, much less a Steeler for long. This guy seems like a deer in the headlights.
Scattebo would probably be buried on the depth chart just like Johnson is. Kaleb has not been given a shot to play much. I still believe that he can be a productive running back.
U guys arguing about the wrong guy. Dart should have been the guy.
That would have made too much sense and been way to beneficial to the team
He got me 30 fantasy points last night, but I kind of agree with a lot of people here, he may be destined for a short career, but I hope not, he’s fun to watch.
I really wanted him and thought he was gonna go higher than what he did. I don’t think he’ll be a star running back or anything but like his hard nosed style
He’s 100% better than Kaleb Johnson. That isn’t even a question, but every team had a chance to draft him multiple times.
If we’re re-drafting, let’s take the guy who was the very next pick: Buccaneers CB Jacob Parrish. That’s where we REALLY need the help right now: our passing D is the 3rd worst in the league so far.
what if the Steelers drafted Lamar Jackson instead of Edmonds
