Again. This series isn’t over.

  1. Nah those comments are correct in that the comparison is dumb and irrelevant. 2016 has no bearing on an outcome this year.

  2. I find it somewhat poetic if we win game 5, the NLCS will once again be Cubs v Dodgers.

  3. We had played one inning of the NLDS and motherfuckers we’re legitimately calling for people’s heads.

We had made it to the NLDS. That’s a success in of itself.

  4. I don’t understand all the doom. Sure this isn’t the ’16 team, but I love this squad. They fight and scrap and you can see how much they want. Whats not to love about them.

  5. I was one of those doomers and I’m glad I’m wrong so far. Let’s fucking go and win this thing!

  6. I had similar interactions. The “series is over!!!” declarations made zero sense to me. Their logic: ‘we just played 2 bad games, so now we can’t possibly win 3 in a row!’ FFS people are you serious?

Yes I remember the exact same garbage after game 4 against Cleveland. I get it… people get all up in their feelings after a loss. Wahhhh. But why not try getting a hold of yourself and stop acting like a freaking 2 year old.

End rant. Go Cubs. We’ll see what happens Saturday. Glad we’re still going strong.

  7. Yep. Fortunately Milwaukee thought it was a great idea to pitch Peralta on 4 days rest.

  8. I’m not a downer. I want the cubs to win every WS every year with scraps of schwindel and wisdom if it was possible.

I was surprised we made it out the wild card and was okay with losing in the NLD. Too many pitching injuries and a second half collapse.

So every inning we come out top is just fucking awesome. Idk who stops the dodgers though. Their money line is just so high

  9. Since there’s no more curse, the team doesn’t need to be as good as 2016 to win it all.

  10. Doomers and Gloomers are right, this isn’t 2016. It’s 2025, and these Cubbies just dug themselves out of a 2-game deficit. Game 5 won’t be easy, but it’s possible.

  11. Being a Cubs fan isn’t for the bandwagon. You either ride with us, or collide with us. 2016 was stressful. 2025 will be equally as stressful. We just beat their one elite pitcher. Not one bit intimidated by the Brewer lineup. GO CUBS!

  12. Nobody in baseball was better than the 2016 Cubs. Only a few teams from any year even belong in the same discussion.

Regardless of how tomorrow goes, the Brewers have been a clearly better team, and picking them to win one of the last three in this series was objectively smart money.

  13. This squad is a very good young baseball team. They can win if the bats are on and management of pitchers is smart.

  14. I don’t know why it’s so hard for people to imagine this team tripping into a 3 game sweep. Obviously the Brewers are good, but baseball is weird.

  15. Again, this team is not the 2016 team. Saying this team can do something because of the 2016 team is a poor argument.

  16. Everyone is correct here. It isn’t over until it’s over but the talent level isn’t the same as before.

  17. Some guy posted how we’d rebuild the team at the end of Game 2. I commented and said that if we came back against the brewers, he should have buy a custom jersey of the top-voted player as penance.

  18. Remember when Bobby Boucher came back at halftime and the muddogs won the bourbon bowl?

  19. Cubs lifer. Realism I’m cool with, in retrospect. While the playoffs are still going???

If you jumped off the wagon, you get my boot trying to climb back on…bye Felicia

    Oh, and fuck Steve Garvey

  20. yea all the doomers hate this team when things are going wrong and act like great fans if we are winning

  21. I will say that we were really spoiled by starting pitching that year…I would take 2016 Hendricks, Arrieta, or Lester over anyone on the current rotation. That said, I think we have 6 or so “circle of trusts relievers for high leverage spots this year, and in 2016, it seemed like we had Edwards, Montgomery, and Chapman only.

  22. No matter what happens tomorrow against Milwaukee this team had a good year. Especially considering the injuries to the pitching staff. Go Cubs!

  23. I admittedly had lost hope after game 2 and our lack of offense, but the last 2 games have gotten better and I have hope again.

I am still worried we are so feast or famine with HR’s and wish we could manufacture a bit more, but if HRs is what they give me, then HR’s I will accept lol.

  24. Last nights game at Wrigley was electric! It really gave me hope. Happ seemed to be hitting the ball hard each at bat, and Shaw might have turned a corner. Those two things give me hope.

  25. It’s not over but I’m not putting money on the cubs. Instead I’m enjoying the “hidden” panic from brewer fans.

  26. I’ve been a fan since 1983, is this a great team? No. Is this the kind of team that can fight enough to win the series? Yep. Any of the teams who made it this far are good enough to pull off an upset.

  27. People don’t realize the difference between the 2016 Guardians and 2025 Brewers. Guardians were a much better team than these Brewers.

  28. Who do the Brewers use? The cubs have to chase whoever is pitching for the Brewers fast and quick in the first couple innings before Misoirouski comes in
