If you don’t know the lore of Bears defensive backs coach Al Harris, let me fill you in. From community college to 15 seasons in the NFL, he’s been through it all, including some pretty big moments. Like, you might remember this. We want the ball. We’re going to score. It is six round draft pick and spending his first year on the practice squad. Harris fought to earn a starting spot in the NFL. And that fight in him led to Pro Bowls and an allp pro selection throughout his playing career. team. He keeps that same mentality in coaching. Before coming to Chicago, he was the assistant head coach and with the DBs at the Dallas Cowboys, where they recorded the most interceptions in the league over a 4-year period of time while he was there. You get exactly what you emphasize. So, if if we’re consistently talking about uh confidence, if we’re consistently talking about takeaways, then that’s, you know, you emphasize that and that’s what you get from from the guys. Anybody who’s ever been coached by me knows that um I am purely serious about taking the ball away. This is his first season with the Bears and his unit is playing at the top of the league, ranking second in team interceptions and third in takeaways. He preaches a hard-hitting, hungry style of defense and the stats show that his players are buying in. So, the confidence and the aggression, the mindset aspect of it, uh, it’s totally on me, you know what I mean, for those guys is to to display
