The Browns Just GUARANTEED Shedeur Sanders Will Start This Season

The AFC North just got a whole lot more interesting. Joe Flaco was recently benched as the Browns starter for rookie Dylan Gabriel. And the Bengals were desperate enough to trade for a 40-year-old quarterback who couldn’t keep his job with the division rival and was throwing picks left and right. That tells you how bad the Jake Browning experience has been. Anything different might be better at this point. But meanwhile, in Cleveland, Dylan Gabriel just had a respectable NFL debut, protecting the football, making plays, and competing against a tough defense. But the real test begins now with Flaco gone and Shador Sanders waiting, Gabriel is on a game by-game evaluation. Now, if Dylan Gabriel falters, the next man up is Shador Sanders, and that’s where things get really interesting. There’s been this ongoing narrative that Sanders should be playing ahead of Gabriel. You see it everywhere on social media and sports debate shows. Every snap matters, every start matters. With Joe Flacco now in Cincinnati, the pressure on Dylan Gabriel has skyrocketed. He had a solid debut, protected the football, made nice throws, and showed that he can handle an NFL game. But what happens if he has a couple of rough outings? The calls for Sanders to play are going to get loud. All accounts suggest that Sanders has continued to improve behind the scenes with extra work after every practice and development happening daily. The physical tools are there. The arm challenge is real. But right now, Gabriel is ahead of him.

Shedeur Sanders is ONE Game Away from Starting for the Browns

The Cleveland Browns just made a move that changes everything. After Dillon Gabriel’s solid NFL debut (190 yards, 2 TDs, 0 INTs vs Vikings), the Browns IMMEDIATELY traded Joe Flacco to the Cincinnati Bengals.

What does this mean?

✅ Gabriel has NO veteran safety net anymore
✅ Shedeur Sanders moves to QB2 – one bad game away
✅ Browns playing behind 30th-ranked pass blocking
✅ Browns have TWO 2026 first-round picks – must evaluate both rookies
✅ Pressure is MAX for Gabriel starting Week 6

Meanwhile, the Bengals are so desperate they traded FOR a 40-year-old QB who was just benched and has a WORSE QBR than Jake Browning!

This is the ultimate pressure test. Gabriel vs Sanders. Who starts by Week 10?

  1. Gabriel can’t throw the ball consistently enough to move the offense. He didn’t throw a pick but he didn’t do much to impact the game either that’s why they lost when they should’ve won that game

  2. The only time in history a 5th round pick is wanted by people to play over a 3rd round pick. Guess it just goes to say when your dad has friends how you can push for someone to play who sucks.😂😂😂😂😂

  3. Not to excuse Jake Browning’s play but the Bengals are going to need to do a lot more than try to find a better fill-in if they ever want to win anything. Every NFL team should look at them as an example of what NOT to do to build a successful dynasty. They’re going to waste Burrow’s career or force an early retirement out of him due to injuries if they don’t change the team-building philosophy and stop relying on a couple of star players to carry their otherwise bad team.

As for the Browns QB situation, I hope Dillon Gabriel shines and secures his spot as the starter. Shadeur needs to grow up and learn some humility if he ever wants to start in the NFL. I don’t think he’ll be in Cleveland for long, and I hope wherever he lands he lands a more mature humble version of himself ready to lead a team, as opposed to a walking distraction. He needs to realize he’s not Deion.

  4. Anyone who honestly believes that Sanders will not get his shit rocked immediately if and when he gets to start and honestly thinks he is going to be some savior at QB are highly delusional.

  5. I think it's funny how ppl move the goalpost for players they like & don't like. Sanders isn’t as bad as yall say. I'm sure he'll be better than Gabriel by the end of their careers.

  6. I'm a ravens fan Flacco my dude but I can't believe my own team where he won us a SB hasn't brought him in we literally have had the worst backups in history lol If you all don't think the man can still sling it you crazy. The o line will probably end his career though sadly smh
