I do these weekly if anyone is into this kind of stuff.
This week I looked at all the defensive snaps and picked out some plays where I really think it explains what the hell happened to the defense.

Main takeaways:
1. Yes, DB technique and field position was bad across the board. But not just outside corners, safeties and even LBs in some cases.

  1. Shula's reliance on Cov3 against SF and almost unwillingness to mix in man earlier to pressure Jones.

  2. Miscommunications between the safeties and LBs on crossing routes and other Cov3-beaters.

Enjoy!

  1. My biggest takeaway from this breakdown is that Shula was playing not to lose before the game even started.

“ I’ll just run cover 3 and we’ll get an easy dub “

  2. Nice video. Subscribed.

Great to get a better insight on what the hell was went wrong but man, I had just about got over this game… watching this mess is tough.

  3. I will die on this hill and say this might be an Aubrey Pleasant problem. If anybody remembers what happened to him in Detroit understands where I’m coming from. We also don’t even have a DB/CB Coach listed on the [Rams website ](https://www.therams.com/team/coaches-roster/) so who is coaching these cornerbacks? Our saftey coach Chris Beake?
