The Portland Trail Blazers Found A HIDDEN GEM In Yang Hansen…

Yang Hansen had a stellar performance in the Blazers preseason win over the Kings. Hansen, he had a quiet preseason debut, but the rookie, he bounced back nicely. I mean, he was absolutely impressive in this one. Hansen played 17 minutes in this game, guys, and he had 16 points, four rebounds, one assists, and three blocks. basically showed what he can do in all facets of his game, continuing to showcase his multiple strengths that made him such an intriguing prospect for the Blazers. And what continues to impress me about Hansen is the fact that he can shoot it from three. This is a guy who continues to shoot the ball well from downtown. I mean, he had back-to back three-pointers in the third quarter. He finished this game shooting five of eight from the field, two of three from three. So, it wasn’t a big sample size, but the fact that Hansen is already the three-point threat this early into his career, that’s only going to do wonders for the Blazers offense. We’re going to take a look at his full highlights. Before we dive into this one, guys, do me a solid. Smash that subscribe button. We are trying to hit 41K subs. If you guys can help me hit that, that would be greatly appreciated. The biggest highlight was when he absolutely cooked Drew Eubanks when he tried to close out on him. I mean, you’re seeing why people are calling him Baby Yic. I mean, Hunson can do basically everything. I mean, he can shoot it as he illustrates right here from downtown, hits that triple, and then look at him just in the open court, gets it right back, finishes. He did a little bit of everything in this game. Finishing in contact. And then right here, you’re gonna see Hunson, like I said, absolutely cook Eubanks. Thanks for coming out. Eubanks. Oh my goodness. That was nasty. Look at how he’s just able to put the ball on the deck, get to the basket as easily as he did, and finish. And then what about this beautiful pass? This was literally a Jokicesque pass. Finding Sharp for the dunk. What a beautiful feed that was. And then Hansen going to finish that shot there in the paint. His shot looks so smooth. It looks good. Very fluid jump shot. And then this was one of his three blocks in this game. Just an absolutely devastating block that was. And then another one right here. Boom can score easily on Hansen. I mean, he showcased everything that he can do in this game. And you know, this is going to be big for the Blazers, especially if Hansen continues to showcase how good he can be offensively, because he’s going to uplift this Blazers offense. And in the second preseason game, he showed why the baby Joic comparisons are legitimate. I mean, we’re going to get to a point where the Blazers, they’re eventually going to utilize him as an offensive hub, similarly to what the Nuggets do with Jokic and how they take full advantage of a skill set. Because you look at Hansen’s ability to just create offensively, his terrific passing, the way he’s able to put the ball in the deck, get his, you know, teammates involved, his willingness to shoot the three, that’s going to keep defenses honest, and that’s just going to allow him to play even more to his strength. So, I think, you know, the development is going to continue to happen here. And you look at now all of a sudden what this means. You got a lot of good players on this team that could get downhill. You know, Advilla, you’ve got Shaden Sharp, Scoot Hen Henderson. So although this is not a good shooting team, they have guys who have the athleticism to get downhill and attack the paint as well. So having a center like Hansen who can create as he does offensively, it’s only going to bring out the best of his teammates and really he’s going to unlock the potential of this young Portland core between his passing and his ability to space the floor because he can hit the outside shot. Hansen’s going to give the Blazers just a tremendous boost on offense as somebody who can shoot it well, but also just create for himself and his teammates really just be that offensive hub. And you see that’s going to be his long-term fit here. When the Blazers drafted him, they saw a guy who can be their Jokic. They saw a guy who they could facilitate their offense through, who can be that hub, and who can just affect the game in so many different ways. You look at all his strengths. He showcased a little bit of everything. His ability to score, shoot the three, rebound, block shots. The way he’s able to play too, it’s so gracefully. The way he’s able to move so freely. This is a big man moving the way that he has been. just some of these passes that he’s able to make too. It’s absolutely fun to watch. So, I think he’s going to end up being a very big piece of this young Portland core. I think you’re already seeing how gifted he can be already. And I think he’s gonna have opportunities this season where he can prove himself and and he’s going to get minutes and he can showcase his ability to be a staple of the rotation. And I just love what I’ve been seeing. I mean the comparisons to Joic, baby Joic, I think those are all valid because we are literally seeing right before our very eyes, another very skilled big. And some of these highlights that you watch, you look at it like Joker, is that you? um with how he’s just able to play his game as as similar as what you see from Nicole Yokic, a guy who has revolutionized what it means to be an offensive hub as as a center. So, I mean, this is a guy who has a chance to be very, very good. He could very well be Portland Savior. And I don’t want to overreact here. It’s a preseason game, but even going back to summer league, we’ve seen now a good enough sample size that suggests that Yang Hudson can end up being a huge deal for this Portland team. When we look back at it, when people saw the draft pick go down, they’re like, who is this kid? Why are they taking him at number 16? But now you’re saying, who is this kid? Like, he can play. And he’s been really shining. And in this performance especially, he looked very impressive again. doing all this in limited playing time. He just played 17 minutes. He was very efficient. He was effective and he showed just how lethal he can be on both ends of the floor. So, Portland’s got themselves a really special player in Hansen. We’ll see what he does the rest of this preseason. But, let me know your thoughts, guys, on this performance. What are your expectations for him going into his rookie season? It’s going to be fun watching them play in some of the different lineups the Blazers can roll out there. Let me know your thoughts, guys. Drop a like on the video. 1. Blazers not only got their guy but also a future frp, yeah they nailed that pick. So much for the so called “experts” who said he’d be a second round pick level talent.

  2. But Billups did not play Yang Hansen or Colingon as offensive hubs in these 2 games.
Hope we can see more point center play in the remaining preseason games.
