Trey Hendrickson Linked to 49ers Trade by NFL Insider After Nick Bosa’s Knee Injury

  1. Hmmm…. Really curious what asking price is and is this a half season rental or a long term purchase.

  2. Having actually read the article, there’s no source being reported here that makes this move more concrete, just speculation and caveats of “If the Bengals don’t turn things around” with Flacco.

  3. Lol we all would love to have him. I dont think we will get him or anyone close to that caliber. I would like to be wrong though.

  4. This is the entirety of the actual “source”: a reporter says:

“San Francisco is canvassing the pass rusher market to fill the void left by Nick Bosa’s injury. I expect them to call Cincinnati about Trey Hendrickson.”

People should have to post the original article, not an article about a throw away one line opinion. I know people are desperate for content, and a pass rush, but damn.

  5. Younger and cheaper is the mantra this season. He is neither. Unless we get him for peanuts.

  6. It’s bullshit speculation.

They are prob asking a pretty high price and he’s not worth that

  7. Trey hasn’t had the season he had last year. Not saying he isn’t great but he also isn’t younger. I still don’t feel it’s worth trading the farm for him.

  8. Living in Cincinnati, I’d say no. We don’t need a prima donna who will shit over the locker room for more $$.

  9. Agree there is no real source here, however: the Bengals are cheap, their season is a 0, and lynch has likely made that call for an idea of price. The unexpected can happen at the deadline. I remain optimistic about a move to help the DL in some way.

  10. Great player, but I doubt the asking price would make sense for us. Half season rental and there’s no extension he’d be happy with that makes sense for us. He’s gonna want something like 3 years $33m/yr, we’ve got Bosa on the books and just drafted a DE in the first round. That’s a ton of capital to be at a single position.

Also it basically goes entirely against our more recent push to get younger, shelling out another $33m for a player on the wrong side of 30, and almost certainly costing us a first round pick which would have been another young starter.

If we trade for a guy I expect it to be much more in line with our Chase Young trade in 2023, not some gigantic balance sheet shaker like this.

  11. If Bengals didn’t trade for Flacco aka make a deal w/ the Browns aka essential deal w/ the devil given the history of the franchises?

    Bengals still trying.

  12. “Linked to” = Diana Russini speculated out of nowhere, based on no information other than what we already know John Lynch said days ago.

  13. If it’s a one year rental, we are trading for a player that will cost us a 4th round… maybe a 3rd round at the most. We have are scheduled to receive a boat load of 4th round comp picks this coming draft so we can part with one of the mid round draft picks.

  14. Fans are so desperate to save a season when this team is not 2019. I’ve been seeing this comparison a ton, this is not the 2019 49ers.

49ers would be better off keeping their picks and nailing another draft and saving that cash then trading for an established star and then deciding on whether or not to pay him or let him walk.

  15. Rather have Chubb or Granderson. Or Thibs but guessing the giants aren’t selling unless they lose 1 or 2 more games.

  16. Terrible reporting. There was no “link” or insider info here. Just an “insider” saying she would expect the 49ers to inquire about Hendrickson. Garbage article.

  17. Rooting a Steeler win this Thursday Night Unc Bowl next week, sorry Unc Flacco.

He would be a great half season rental to fill in for Bosa for a run.

  18. Well first, Cincinnati has to be in selling mode, which is 2-3 weeks away.

A half year rental for a second round pick?

Sure, the Niners would get a 3rd round comp pick after he went into FA, but dang.

You also gotta wonder what other teams are going to offer.

  19. If the 49ers make a big move for Hendrickson…this could be a sign that after 2 season ending knee injuries and Bosa extension talk next offseason, the 49ers may be cautious about giving Bosa a contract that would demand the largest defensive payday in the league. We could see a long hold out if not a trade in ‘26.

  20. I don’t like it because he’d need a new contract and because of his age. What would make it even worse if it’s a rental because this is not a contention year despite what our current record might fool people into thinking.

  21. This isn’t a win now season. I don’t see a reason to get a guy that’s only in it for the rest of the year. Long term deal or nothing.

  22. This would immediately make us strong contenders. Love it too because Cinci knows there season is a lost cause
