We have a massive Chicago Bulls trade update as a report has revealed a new trade target for the Bulls as this season gets going and the Bulls fully plan on trading away one of the cornerstones of this team over the last couple of seasons and will definitely need a replacement. But that replacement is getting involved in a trade for a much better piece for this team who fits perfectly. And we’re going to go over all this situation, how the Bulls got linked to this player, how this is going to all go down, what this means for the future of the team, and why this all keeps following the same pathway that we love seeing for the Chicago Bulls, who finally finally are showing some actual direction, which is going to help this team build back up and we’re going to break all of this down as they cover a huge need in this deal. But with all that being said, let’s jump into the video. A lot to discuss. As we know, the Chicago Bulls find themselves in an interesting situation right now. For the first time in a long time, it seems like they have direction after giving Josh Giddy that $25 million per year contract, which I still think is such a bargain for Josh Giddy. They finally have a franchise cornerstone in Giddy. On top of that, they have some other talent as well. Matas Buzzel has a chance to really break out onto the scene. Askoro looks like he’s going to take a leap. On top of that, we also still do have some other nice young pieces. We’re going to see what happens with Noah Essen. There is a lot to be excited about for as Bulls fans for the first time in a very long time. This isn’t some aging roster that the team refuses to let go of knowing things are just never going to go right. Instead, we now see an actual team, a roster that makes sense, a rotation that’s going to feature a lot of young players. And even though they still are likely going to be a playin team, we’re now seeing a young playin team, a team that’s showing a lot of potential to continue to get better and better as time goes on and as they get older. and on top of that still getting a solid enough draft pick to go out there and make a move. However, there’s been a bunch of trade reports specifically surrounding Nola Vuch for ever. And with that being mentioned, it’s just at some point Vu is not going to be a bull and that’s likely going to happen at some point this season. Now, there’s been a lot of talk about, oh well, Vu has no market on or no value on the market, so he’s likely going to end up getting bought out or something like that. But at the end of the day, I don’t see that happening. I don’t see Vevich getting bought out of a contract. I do think the Bulls will find the right place to trade Vu off to. And honestly, I expect that to happen. Now, no matter what happens, there’s teams that could go out there and get Vu and do good things with him. Whether it’s keep him around for a contending team or acquire him in a deal that leads to a buyout for some cap space opening in exchange, giving a talent away so this so a team can go and get cap space. Well, that’s exactly what we’re seeing happen as the Bulls were named as one of the favorites for Nick Claxton. With it being said, that is the player who they should go after. That should be their dream target right now. As Bleacher Report revealed that by saying that the Chicago Bulls need a new franchise center as Nicolola Vuchic will turn 35 later this month and is entering the final year of his contract. Nick Claxton, 26, is younger, a better defender, and has a reasonable three years, $69.5 million remaining on his deal. He should be very available from from a Brooklyn Nets team that’s undergoing a complete rebuild right now. Remember, here’s the thing about Claxton. He was around. Claxton was there during this whole experience with Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving and James Harden. Claxon was there. He played a pivotal role for that team. And because of that, what we see is a guy who the Bulls can go out and now get who is going to already have playoff experience as a younger center in this league. Give Josh Giddy a really, really great pick and roll threat. And yeah, it takes away a little bit of spacing, but you also add on some excellent defense onto this team. And think about a Bulls front court that starts Isaac Gakoro, Buzzelis, and Claxton. That’s an excellent defensive unit. While you have Josh Giddy facilitating an offense and next to Giddy, you put Kobe White. And if White ends up getting traded, you put a different shooter in there. Maybe a Kevin Herd or something like that. And all of a sudden, this is a young team that has a lot of different variables going forward. And all of a sudden, it kind of looks like a team that could make a little bit of a sneaky run into the playoffs and maybe make some noise. Even if they lose in the first round, it could be a good first round loss, if that makes sense. So, I’m really really into this move. I really like it. And again, it just makes a lot of sense as was mentioned. But just looking at everything surround surrounding this, Vu is a guy who was out obviously he was great. He put up 18 and a half points per game, 10 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and shot 40% from three. This is a guy who I do see getting traded. If he gets acquired by the Nets, the Nets will buy him out and he’ll go sign somewhere else with a team that needs a big man. Maybe the Phoenix Suns, someone like that, because the Suns have been rumored to trading away Nick Richards, or maybe potentially a team like the Lakers, who have been rumored for Fuj for a while, or just a team that could use a backup big man at any sense of the word. Hell, even the Orlando Magic makes sense. The San Antonio Spurs make a ton of sense. But as mentioned by Sports Illustrated, the trade framework in theory would send Vuchic and backup fellowward Jaylen Smith to the Nets in exchange for Nick Claxton. A deal that satisfies NBA salary matching requirements while giving Chicago a significant defensive upgrade. Jaylen Smith put up eight points per game, 5.6 rebounds, and one assist. Blocking a shot and getting or block almost blocking a shot. Only 15 minutes of action. Smith does show some potential. So losing Jaylen Smith would absolutely suck. I would prefer there to be a way they would trade away someone else because of Smith being younger potentially if it’s Kevin Herder in some deal where the Bulls take back a little bit of salary from someone else in the Nets. Maybe a Haywood Highmith type of player to add some more shooting. I think that makes a lot of sense for the Bulls as well. And as Sports Illustrated mentioned, Vu is entering the f the final year of his three-year $60 million extension, earning $21.5 million this season. Claxton signed a four-year $97 million deal in 2024 and makes $25.4 million annually. Adding Smith’s roughly $5 million salary bridges that $4 million gap, satisfying the league’s matching requirements for over-thecap teams. Claxton has established himself as one of the NBA’s premier defensive centers, blocking more shots than any player except Brook Lopez from 2022 to 2024 seasons. At 26 years old with three years remaining on his contract, he represents both an immediate upgrade and a long-term building block, which is a stark contrast to the 34year-old Vuj who becomes a free agent next summer. At the end of the day, Claxton is just a very, very talented player. He put up 10 points per game last year, 7.4 rebounds, two assists, and has started shooting the three ball as well. He is continuing to shoot the three while blocking one and a half shots per game and getting a steal per game as well while shooting 56% from the field. Excellent defender even on a bad Nets team, which is really, really exciting to see out of a guy like Nick Claxton. Obviously, as mentioned by this Nets fan right here, Nick Claxton jerseys are on sale for $29.99 at the NBA team store right now with the Venom meme. I won’t forget you, buddy. And on top of that, when we see the most contested shots by season, Nick Claxton, back when the Nets were competitive, was right at the top with 919. So, we’ve seen that. Also, shout out to Brook Lopez just because Brook Lopez is the man. But just had to mention that. Now, Nick Claxton averaged 5.7 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 1.4 blocks per game in his 20 playoff games in his career. but only one of those where he played the most games. He only put up like or only was in 11 minutes a night. In that span, he was still blocking a shot per game, putting up two and three. So, obviously, it wasn’t great, but he was younger. And as time went on in the 202122 season, he played in those four games, averaged 24.5 minutes per game, put up 10 points, six rebounds, one and a half assists, got a steal per game, and blocked nearly two and a half shots per game. On top of that, the next year he played even more minutes, going up to 29 minutes per game, putting up 10 and a half points, eight rebounds, one and a half assists, and getting nearly two blocks per game again, and he shot 79% from the field one year, and then 72% the next year. Claxton is someone who can perform in the playoffs and makes a ton of sense for the Chicago Bulls. A deal I want to see get done. What do you guys think about it? Let me know in the comments down below. Should I be arrested from those sirens out there for wanting to take on this contract? if you could let me know that in the comments down below as well cuz obviously the Bulls are on track to have some money in free agency next year. But let me know what you think. Like this video, subscribe, turn on post notifications. Have a great day. I’ll catch you later.
