Is it even a competition?

  1. Both great players, but the way TJ Watt forces and recovers fumbles is phenomenal, and I think this gives him an edge over Garrett. I will say though, TJ must get at least one playoff win, so Garrett will no longer have that stat over him

  2. I think Miles is a great player. He makes the Browns better when he is on the field.

I think TJ is a great player. He makes the Steelers better by being on the Team.

    There is a major difference

  3. How many sacks has each of them had while playing with explosive diarrhea?

That’s the only stat I care about.

  4. To settle this once and for all, we need both tj and Myles to compete against each other in a twerk off

  5. Absolute cherry picked nonsense, it doesn’t even include stats on beating an opposing player with said player’s own helmet.

  6. You are missing 1 very important stat, Pass rush win rate. Nothing counts more in football than beating the offensive lineman and not getting a sack.

  7. I wish you guys would quit trying to compare these two. They dont even play the same postion. In the Browns sub they show different stats like blocked fgs, missed tackles, and run defense stats to show Garrett is superior. They are both going to the HOF. Deal with it.

  8. i like the conversation of myles vs tj but I also just want to appreciate how crazy it is that these two guys landed in the same division, two all time defenders pretty close in age (2 drafts apart I think?), as a Steelers fan I’ve watched TJ wreck so many games that to me it’s obvious but If I watched more browns games maybe i’d feel different

  9. This leaves out the same stat that everyone forgets in this conversation: pass deflections.

    PD: Myles Garrett – 17, TJ Watt – *51*

  10. I genuinely don’t know how you guys can talk about the same thing over and over again lmao

Who cares what anyone else thinks, we know what we have with TJ and that’s all that matters

  11. There’s no doubt that Myles Garrett is a HOF type player and probably one of the Browns greatest defensive player of all time. With that being said he’s still no TJ Watt 🤷‍♂️

  12. They play two different positions. One is DE the other is OLB. That’s like comparing Derwin James to Joey Porter Jr or DK Metcalf to Travis Kelece

  13. they play 2 different positions hence why tj drops in coverage more and has more picks, both great and hof players nothing less.

  14. This is a dead horse at this point. Garrett is an incredibly talented player for the Browns and Watt is a incredibly talented player for us. They probably have to hang out the weekend they get into Canton together. I say this as someone who bought a Watt jersey before he took a snap and I rushed to post it here when he was chosen.

  15. I know this is a Steelers sub, but come on. You can’t compare these two. Different positions different level of coaching and talent around them.

  16. TJ has faced a league high 62 chip blocks on 131 pass rushes this season (47.3%) nearly 20 more than the next closest defender Myles Garrett(44).

  17. I’m sorry folks. But, TJ is on the decline and the other guy isn’t yet. Career stats are going to flip except the interceptions. That is because one is a linebacker and the other a def end. Yinz are going to shoot the messenger, aren’t yinz?

  18. You forgot *Number of players hit in head with a helmet.* That’s the one category Garrett wins.

  19. But does TJ Watt pretend to dribble a basketball before that one snap that one time? Didn’t think so

  20. Assault with a deadly weapon 1-0
Crashes while driving reckless and putting others at risk 2-0

  21. This is what I’ve always said about the Watt/Garret debate. No matter if you think Myles is a better pass rusher (despite watt consistently getting more sacks/hits) there’s no way he’s better by enough of a margin to account for Watt creating twice as many takeaways

  22. Not really because they aren’t, per se, competing against each other.

When you factor in passes defended, run stuffs, and TFL… we know Watt’s Watt.

  23. Never forget that Nick Herbig leads the league in the same hypothetical stat that Myles gets praised for
