Steelers Have Already Won The AFC North

the Pittsburgh Steelers may have already won the AFC North. It’s crazy to think, right? It’s crazy to sit here and say that the Pittsburgh Steelers hold such an advantage as a team that we did not think would have the advantage that it almost seems certain that they are going to walk away crowned champions of the division. that their odds right now are almost unbeatable. That’s how it feels. And history says that they are very much so in control of this race. So much so that it’s hard to say they’re going to lose. You break it down by team and it just looks great for the Pittsburgh Steelers and then you look at the Steelers and you say what they are doing and how we are overlooking it. Man, they’ve got it right now. The Pittsburgh Steelers have got it. What’s going on everybody? I’m Noah Strabine. Thank you for jumping on to another episode of Steelers to Go, your daily dose of Pittsburgh Steelers news and analysis. Find us on youtube.com/allsteelers talkers. The Pittsburgh Steelers are 3 and one. They return from the by-week. They face the Cleveland Browns at AAR Stadium. They will welcome Dylan Gabriel to his first start in the NFL in the United States because, well, his first one went in London and it didn’t go so well. They lost to the Minnesota Vikings a week after the Pittsburgh Steelers beat the Minnesota Vikings. They moved to 1-4 on the season. They sit right next to the Baltimore Ravens. And history says that’s not a great place to be. You look at the stats and 7.9% of teams who have started 1 and4 since 2002 when the Houston Texans made their way into the NFL as the 32nd team, 7.9% who have started 1 and4 have made the playoffs. I bet you of those 7.9enters, they had their starting quarterback or they were hopeful to get him back heading into week six. But the Baltimore Ravens don’t seem to be sitting in that same spot. And the Cleveland Browns, well, they’re the only team in the AFC North who has chosen to change quarterbacks this season. of the three teams who have been forced to change quarterbacks so far this season. The Ravens are waiting for Lamar Jackson. When is he going to come back? We don’t know. I mean, it it could be next week. It could be the week after that. Nobody likes to see injuries in the NFL, but if you are if you are a Pittsburgh Steelers fan, you are sitting around going, “Okay, this is helpful. This gives you a lead that you feel pretty good about because maybe the Baltimore Ravens are the 11th team to pull this thing off because 10 out of 126 have made the playoffs after starting one and four. Maybe the Baltimore Ravens are team 11. But you need Lamar Jackson back tomorrow. You can’t have Cooper Rush go out there again. You can’t call up Tyler Huntley and make him your starting quarterback and say everything’s going to be fine. This works out in our favor. It doesn’t. Ask the Cincinnati Bengals because Joe Burrow’s gone. They’re on a three-game losing streak. They’re still second place in the AFC North. They’re two and three. Jake Browning has thrown five interceptions in three games. And the Bengals have scored 34 combined points in those three games. At one point against the Detroit Lions, Jamar Chase led the team in tackles. That’s not where you want to be if you are any organization. And it shows you just how far they have sunk. Meanwhile, the Pittsburgh Steelers are sitting at 3-1. and they just got a week off and they’re going to welcome the Cleveland Browns to Akasher Stadium for the first time this season facing an AFC North team. They’re going to say, “Hey, Dylan Gabriel, welcome to town. Let me introduce you to this guy TJ Watt and Nick Herbig.” Oh, maybe, just maybe, Alex Highmith will be back. Joey Porter Jr. is expected to be on the field and Deshawn Elliott, Patrick Queen, even Payton Wilson, Derek Harmon, and Cam Hayward are all playing great. But best of luck, my friend, because if you pull this off, if you remain the starting quarterback of the Cleveland Browns for years to come, you will have to get to know these guys because, well, you’ll know plenty about them every single time you face them twice a year from here on out. If the Steelers win, they move to 4- one. If the Cincinnati Bengals and the Baltimore Ravens lose and they beat the Cleveland Browns, obviously, they will hold a two and a halfame lead over Cincinnati, who is not expected to get Joe Burrow back anytime soon, a three and a halfame lead over the Baltimore Ravens, and a 4game lead over the Cleveland Browns. That’s bad. and it kind of looks at you and says, “Is that insurmountable? Are the Pittsburgh Steelers already at a place where they have pretty much won the division?” Now, anything could happen. And that’s the big subheading in this entire conversation is this is the NFL. Everybody gets hurt. Doesn’t you don’t know when it’s going to happen. It doesn’t matter when it’s going to happen. Everybody gets hurt. Every team deals with injuries. It’s just a matter of what those injuries are, how significant they are, how long you’re going to lose a guy, and who you’re going to lose. Ask the Baltimore Ravens and the Cincinnati Bengals. Steelers, if they stay healthy, have no reason to lose the AFC North. None. They have no reason to lose less than five games this season or more than five games this season if they could stay healthy. But if they could stay healthy even in a smaller amount, if they could keep the float alive with TJ Watt and Aaron Rodgers on the field and just say, “Look it guys, at least our main two are out here and we could figure the rest out.” Then there’s no reason that they fall behind. There’s none. Because in the next two weeks, they’re going to welcome the Cleveland Browns. And then five days later or four days later, they’re going to go to Cincinnati and play the Cincinnati Bengals who just open the door for a quarterback change. Which means that maybe it’s not Jake Browning anymore. Maybe it’s QB3 in Cincinnati. And the Steelers just go Dylan Gabriel against somebody we don’t know in the Cincinnati Bengals organization. You got to feel like those are two wins. And if you’re two wins there and Cincy loses in week six and Baltimore loses in week six, which look it, it’s a lot more than not having Lamar Jackson. The Baltimore Ravens have given up less than 30 points one time this season. They’ve given up 43 times this season. That is not a team that looks like they are anywhere close to competing for a division title. It is a ship that has sunk so much faster than anybody thought it was going to. If this was Pittsburgh, Mike Tomlin would be getting screamed at by the fan base. Get him out of town. It’s over. They’ve lost it. It’s time to move on. Maybe that’s the same in Baltimore. I don’t know. Don’t follow closely enough. What’s up nation? I’ve teamed up with DraftKings. The next great touchdown is coming and you can bet on it. The best way to do so is through DraftKings Sportsbooks, where new customers who bet $5, they get $200 instantly in bonus bets. But if the Steelers can go to Cincy, have everything fall in their favor in week six, and then potentially have everything fall in their favor again in week seven, they could hold a commanding three and a half game lead over the second place team in the AFC North. And they will be five- one. Five and one. That sure seems like a team that’s already locked up the North. And nobody, and I mean nobody, saw this coming coming into the season. There wasn’t a soul out there who said the Steelers were going to be so far ahead in the AFC North by the midway point of the season, by the trade deadline, before the trade deadline, that you could say they have won the division already. Nobody, and I mean nobody, said that. Maybe there were a couple of people that said that they were going to win the North, but even then it was most people saying there’s going to be it’s going to be a good fight, but maybe Baltimore is that team. And until Baltimore proves otherwise, you got to give them the respect that they are that team. Maybe. Maybe that’s the case. Maybe it’s not. And maybe the Pittsburgh Steelers are officially back to some capacity. You have a 41 year old quarterback. You don’t know how long you’re gonna go you’re going to be back for, but you are three and one. It’s a good start. You have a good opportunity to be 5- one in the next two weeks. That’s an even better start. And if you find yourself at 5- one, and I don’t want to get too ahead of myself, but if you find yourself at five and one, you you’re back. That’s plain and simple. You’re back. Again, with a 41-y old quarterback, you don’t know how long you’re back for. Maybe it’s this season, maybe it’s half of this season, maybe it’s the next two years. Who knows? But you’re back. And everybody else around you is sinking fast because Cincinnati’s ready to change their coach and change everything about them. The Cleveland Browns don’t know up from down right now. And the Baltimore Ravens, I mean, they their ship has water coming in in ways that they don’t even realize it’s coming. And they were not prepared for it. They ran out of buckets. They didn’t even bring enough. I mean, again, nobody saw this coming, but the Steelers are taking full advantage of it. And if they go the next two weeks continuing to take advantage of it, it’s going to be hard to prove otherwise. The Steelers might already have the North locked up. That is crazy to say in week five of the NFL season. Thank you guys so much for jumping on to another episode of Steelers to Go, your daily dose of Pittsburgh Steelers news and analysis. 1. Don't forget the 2020 season when they started 11-0, finished 12-4 with a first round playoff debacle loss to the Cleveland clowns. I mean Browns.

  2. Let’s take 1 game at a time buddy. Also weren’t you talking about how bad the team looked after a win a couple weeks ago? Lets just take it game by game. Allow this team to play and get more comfortable.

  3. Dude do you even know Steelers history!? History says that they will make the playoffs and get destroyed in the first round and have another crappy pick in the draft. Ain’t gonna go far with that Oline unless they miraculously get way better. Run game is bad.

  4. While it looks quite good for the Black n Gold we felt fantastic when we were 10-3 last year and we all know how that went. History does not show favor to the Steelers when they are in control of their own destiny. We also have a habit of losing the games that were supposed to win. I'll feel better about it when we if we beat the Browns next week and the Ravens and Bengals lose again.

  5. You are joking right?Enough with this talk.We are lucky we are 3-1.Offensive Line is our demise.BJones is a stiff, got by in college with physical gifts different on Sundays. Please keep AR upright and get Lazard and maybe we can get past a wild card game.

  6. It all depends on the OL continuing to play better. And they have been improving so it’s not that far of a stretch. IF that happens,we’re running away with this division and im confident we’ll actually win a playoff game lol

  7. The Steelers are the worst team to have any kind of early advantage. Tomlin wears out his voodoo chicken feet hexes too early and we all know what happens in December.

  8. Indeed the AFC North now looks like the weakest division in the NFL. But let's not forget that the Steelers are one Arron Rogers injury away from joigning the 3 other teams. Thankfully, Rogers is consumate all-pro, gets the ball lighting fast out of his hands, plus is such a good teammate and leader that everyone wants to play well for him. In my book, the Steelers now hold a 1-game lead over the Ravens, and 2 game lead over the Bengals and Browns. If the Ravens lose to the Jags this Sunday, this would all but garanty that they have to sweep the Steelers in order to catch up.

  9. Whoaaa nah ,,who have they played ??? Your out of control!! Also Aron Rogers is not leading that team to playoffs just watch you all are going to start loosing real soon I promise boss

  10. Lifelong Steeler fan here, but you guys are way out over your skis. If not for the lucky bounce of a Rogers fumble and a great hustle play by Payton Wilson, the Steelers would have lost the game in Ireland. If they had, you guys would be singing a very different tune. Champions are not built on lucky bounces.

  11. Don't count your chickens before they hatch I'm really worried about Cleveland remember they have the number one defense in the league you cannot take that for granted

  12. Steelers haven’t won shit! Stop it! If you’re a real fan, you know you can’t move with that assumption! Hoping for the best tho, definitely In The driver’s seat right now tho.

  13. I don't know why people are acting like the ratbirds are invincible, their defense sucked before the injuries, Harbaugh is not that good of a coach, take away Lamar Jackson running around like a chicken with his head cut off and Frankly, they ain't that good. Ravens are toast, I'd be surprised if they win 7 games, Cincinnati is toast, the browns are in real trouble and we SHOULD win the division easily, because we have a real quarterback this gobaround, not a washed up re tread, you can see what happened when washed up Wilson went to new York, he sucks and needs to retire, the dumb giants paid him all that money, I told yall he's a trashbag, after he cost us that game against the Ravens I had had enough of "Russell Wilson "

  14. Lol they haven't played a division game yet. Not only that they still have to play the packers, lions, chargers, bills, and the colts. Way too early for anything.
