NHL Highlights | Blue Jackets vs. Wild – October 11, 2025
Exactly 25 years to the day from the time the puck hit the ice here in St. Paul for the first time that night. Hendrickson Walls and Gabbert scored for the Wild in a three-3 tie with Philadelphia. Tonight it’s the Blue Jackets and we are underway [Applause] sends it around behind to Henstrosza out to Broaddin. A shot. It was blocked. Loose Paul. Henestro fires and a kick save by Msleekens. Yeah, Ms. Lincoln is out of position a little bit too, but he’s able to and they score at the other end. Gustiffson beaten on the rush. Miles Wood has the game’s first goal and the Blue Jackets lead one zero. Watch it’s hit us throws and picks this up puck up in the slot. Watch kind of out of position a little bit. Throws that right pad down. The rebound goes and this is just a smart dump to the corner. They get a great turn. The speed from Wood or Wood who just beats Faber to this puck kind of on a TE for him. One-time on the ice. Spurgeon now to Rossy. Spurgeon. Rossi tried to center pad. Save. Johansson threw it back against the grain. His throws just kind of started to fall off behind the net. Wild tried to get a tie up in the corner. Down to five in the twoman advantage. Bouncing puck. nuds to Bald. He bends it out of the air. Save for Leakens and he’s able to cover. Jackets back at full strength. Severson controls out to center ice. Broaddin got a boot on it. Hartman carries in. Wild have numbers. Hartman centers pass savers. Leakens in the rebound just eluded Capri off. And you know, Nicholas Baxton’s in the house tonight and we were talking to Baky and I coached Baky for 10 years here and u you know, I took his stuff home with me, too. So, uh uh it can travel. Oo, Marenko beats Gustiffson 9 seconds into the second period and Columbus extends the lead to two-0. And he shows why with this release. Yeah. 31 goals last year and he just winds this one up through the neutral zone. Give and go. He gets some space. Brock Faber gets caught outside the dots and Marenko. Only a matter of time for him before he got the first. He had eight shots on goal in his first game against Nashville. Couple there in the first period, but lethal shot. He’s got one of those whip shots like Ryan Hartman does. Kind of. There’s Erikson in his shot blocked. Got it back. And the next shot comes to Capri off. He fires. Saved by Minkens. Ericson scores. [Music] [Applause] [Music] It mixes talent with effort and strength. It’s Erikson on a second puck getting it through. Then Capri off good shot here trying to go far side high. Creates the rebound but Erikson just battling one on two creating extra time and getting that loose puck off to the side of the net with the skate where his teammate Matt Baldy can hammer it home. But boy, what a combo when you have that much skill, that much effort mixed with strength, and a willingness to be there right on the paint and battle. Goender interference, you always would see these plays from the goalender’s perspective. And so many times, I think people would underestimate how much any after reviewing the play, the call on the ice stands. We have a goal. Columbus 2 minutes incorrect. We’ve seen that expression like that many times. Terasenko hangs on along the wall, moves in, feeds Baldi. Baldi with it. Now it’s a five on four. Caprico scores. [Music] [Applause] [Music] I mean, what a shot. And Mlink just gets caught being aggressive trying to be out on top of the paint and he’s looking through traffic, bites on a fake, goes down into his butterfly. Capri off sees this one-time sharp angle. Very little net to see there. Very little net to hit. I think good. I think good net front there caused him to be late on that rotation. Oh yeah, I couldn’t see it goes down. See it. Couldn’t see the pass. Hartman turns it toward the line. Held by Good Branson. Good. Branson across to Winski. His shot deflected and they score. Marenko finds the back of the net. It was Veronov that was in check from Jared Spurgeon. His deflection created the loose puck and Columbus is back in front. 3-2. It kind of lifts the leg. It’s a point shot. Marenko does a good job kind of getting lost in the slot. He does a dipsy do at the last second to jump inside of Trenion. Watch Marenko ISO cam here. It’s this move. Skirts Trenian. Trening can’t turn in time. Then that shot off Veronov’s leg pops right on the tape of Marenko. And he gets his second of the And we are underway in the third. It’s the Rossi Baldi Capri line that has been terrific for Minnesota all night to open to Jenner in behind. And he’s tied up by Spurgeon. And Spurgeon wins the puck battle for Minnesota. But then he gave it away to Cylinger across to Fantelli. Florinski fires and scores. [Applause] And for the second period in a row, Columbus has an early goal. This one comes a minute 11 in and they lead it 4-2. A battle on Boom Jenner getting his puck up the ice for a breakout. But then it’s an Eric pass turned over and watch just so smooth where Eski is. It doesn’t force that shot. Waits till he gets outside of Matt Baldi who’s standing flatfooted trying to block a shot with that. I think he provides a little bit of a screen and Jenner falling through the eyes of Marenko to Jenner up high. Warinski back now to Marenko. Lorinski fires and scores. Marenko completes the hattick and Columbus has a 52 lead and still a minute 12 left on the power play. Gus did a great job getting the puck and keeping it out of the net early on, but it’s his second entry. They just get up over the top and Marenko sets up that one-time and he he’s got that labeled far side. Baldi to Bua Lincoln. Rebound picked up by Baldi trying to push it out front. Now it’s Buham with it down the slot. A shot just missed. Eric has it back in the net. Boo scores. First in the NHL. opening. It comes on the power play and Buy does a good job. Just active. He gets the first shot, but he stays in the play. Retrieval takes it to the middle shot. This one misses too. Gets clipped. Gets it back up on the skates. Wants the puck. Calls for it. Nice delivery there from Erikson next to the tape of Bouam. Right in the wheelhouse. One-time far side. We’ll see if they can uh make history happen again. Been some memorable nights, no doubt about it, on opening night, but now Columbus has restored a three-goal lead and they’ve had the answer each time Minnesota has seemed to awaken the crowd and make a comeback feel possible. Hard work by Boon Jenner. He goes up, gets his puck, but watch the shin pad of 19. Fantily, it goes off his kneecap, changes direction, was initially going wide, but we talked about it in the first, Anthony, that Columbus and their prowess in the faceoff circle. It showed up, I thought, in that first period. Battle Roberov tied up by Capri to the corner. Williams rips it across. Rossy scores. [Music] Tipped by Capric on the way and Minnesota on the power play as their fourth of the night. It’s 6-4. But this is all this is all Puy and Rossi. They win this battle. Look how condensed that kill is in Columbus. I mean, they’re just lost. They’ve got no clue that they’ve got to cover somebody front of the net. They over pursue and Rossi knows right away, hey, I’ve got Capri off inside position. Corral this puck. Put it on his tape. Easy redirect into the back of the net. Capri off has his second in the Wild now within two. Defended by Proarov. Throws it out to the line. Capri off for Boo. Poke checked away by Coyle. Coyle with a chance at the empty net. He’ll hand it off to Jenner who scores. And it’s 74 Columbus. [Applause] That’s twice in this third period that Charlie Coyle’s made a good stick play at the blue line to relieve pressure. Ter’s 200th goal, second of the game, or I should first of the game until he uh got the other. But you know, it’ll get much easier than that for Boone Jenner. Just the third time the Wild will fall in regulation in their first game in St. Paul. [Music]
Kirill Marchenko scored a hat trick while Zach Werenski and Boone Jenner each added three points as the Columbus Blue Jackets beat the Minnesota Wild 7-4.

Wait. So, spending 17 millions on one player doesn’t get you automatic wins?
Looks like Gustavsson lost this game in solo, what's happened to him?
Touchdown!
Damn, Gus was a sieve tonight.
Of the 11 goals, 5 were scored by Russian hockey players!!!!
The gus bus had a flat tire tonight
Never count out those pesky jackets 👀
The Day of Kirills
Wild showing the team they actually are. The refs try to keep them in the game.
