NHL Highlights | Stars vs. Avalanche – October 11, 2025
And here we go. ABS win the opening draw. Burns slides it to Luck and it’s into the Dallas zone to begin things. Hey guys, do Sammy G out of the lineup. That long shot blocked away. Never got to the front. Burns retreated a little bit. Here comes Lungfist. The defenseman activating center passed in. Couldn’t put it on net. Harley with the shot. He scores. So Harley in a broken play able to rip it home past the glove hand of Wedgewood to give Dallas the one- nothing lead. 109 into the game. Thomas Harley probably going to play for Canada this year at the Olympics, but there’s chaos ensuing. Nico Randon almost and I tell you this guy tried to get out of every game before warm-ups with our team doctor. I have no idea how he got a thousand games straight, but absolutely unbelievable from Brent Bernie. The abs are so close. Lack it into Taves. He’ll find Molinsky. Cross eyes. Nes shoots up. He scores. Marty Nes rims it pasture. His third goal of the season. The ABS have tied the game at one. Nachos with extra cheese on that one inside the far post. You can see the ABS working it around the perimeter confusing the Dallas Stars. Nathan McKinnon with a beautiful scene passes. Jake when he has to go post to post. Doesn’t matter if you’re 6’6, you aren’t getting there. Marty Nes with his third of the season. What a pass through the triangle. Lungquist. It all started the other end, too. Sam Molinsky running up the wall and blows up Mo. He now has 3,500 career shots on goal. Russ with a big hit. Second player in Avalanche history to do that. We have a fight. Here we go. Cody is going toe to toe with the Ritz Kobe in the far corner. Couple of hits and then there goes Colby down as Rich Kovian. Got him off balance. Rich Kovian gain it all the way across. Could be a chance for an instigator. Russ Colton pumps up the crowd on Hast and their star defenseman catches him right on the numbers. That’s a hard hit. Barely on the right side of the legal play. There’s ROI comes over and says, “Hey, you know, I don’t think there’s an instigator, guys, but it’s going to be real close.” He skated all the way across the ice. Look at his hand caught in the jersey. That’s a nightmare. And then Ross Holton’s going to take him down high. Fired off for Olivesson working on Harley trying to get through in front. Score. Gavin able to rip it past Odder to give the ABS a two to one lead. Well, it’s his fourth game in the NHL, folks. Third in an Avalanche uniform. This play by Vic Rollson is ridiculous. He explodes off the blue line. Beats it past Harley. Grabs it again. And there’s the former Michigan Wolverine tucking his first National Hockey League goal through the five hole of Andrew Johnny. What an incredible feeling for that young man. What an incredible feeling, Rex. I loved everything you said except when you got to the Michigan Wolverine part, but first career goal. reading in his bastion. Slovia couldn’t get there. Robertson with a backhand flip and that was nifty. Wonder if Wedgewood got a piece of it. Robertson still with it. Hast get it to the near side. Lindell is in in front. Score. Nathan Bastion hard to the front of the net down on one knee. Pushes it past Wedgewood and the Stars have tied the game at two. This is just tough. You can see Robertson. That’s a nifty little move to the backand going short side then just moving it around Bastion wide open in front and that’s one of the easier goals that you’re going to have standing almost in the crease. Lindell puts it right on his tape. Burns tries to make the effort to knock him over, but Bastion gets enough on that stick to get it through. Wedgewood and his numbers hanging in the Raptors here. And Brent Burns just keeps getting on that. A simple game so underrated in hockey. Score. That puck was deflected by Jason Robertson. Harley just simply threw it to the front of the net and Robertson able to turn that blade over and get a piece. And the Dallas Stars we just showed. And what did the Dallas Stars do? Right over to Thomas Harley and just a quick wrister onto the net. Jason Robertson gets the perfect deflection. Watch it go up there under the bar top shelf where you could shoot 30 pucks from the blue line and I don’t know how many times Robertson’s going to get that perfect of wood on it. Fox came rumbling in. Shot by McKinnon. AB trying to break out. Nas slides it. McKinnon to his blade. Walks in front. Score. Our Tony. 34 seconds into the third period. Has made it a three3 hockey game on his second goal of the season. Nathan McKinnon collects that of beauty. Mos. You can see Nathan McKinnon. What a pass by N. And what a pass by Nathan McKinnon. Dallas off to start their fourth line. They’re running around with their heads cut trying to finish checks. And the AS make him pay early in the third just what the doctor ordered. Arturi Lack. You know where you’re going to find him. Always out battles. Bassing in front. Opts it off. Here’s Colton now. Center pass shot. That one off the skate. All of a sudden unleashing that shot. Oh no. Pass ahead by Justin foot. The breakaway. He shoots and scores. The ABS incredibly unlucky there. The gap was closed on Taves at the blue line and Johnson able to follow it all the way down. Here’s the play right there. See that puck’s rolling and it jumps straight on White Johnson’s tape. This guy’s one of the most talented young players. And Wedgewood so close to getting that pad over to the side. But the young Wyatt Johnson just comes in, goes back for him and just stuffs it and barely beats Wedgwood there. Well, an extended shift in the offensive zone. Circle looks to dish off seam pass. Back in comes Burns with a shot. Save rebound. He can shoot night. Kenner [Applause] got some of it, but he could not get over it. And finally, the power play pays off. The act his second goal of the season. Well, the puck movement here is brilliant. Nous over to Nelson. Back to Burns who takes a shot. We talks about puck retrievals. They retrieve another one and Nas right in the slot. Aer thinks he’s going to shoot. He doesn’t. He puts it right on a T for Nathan McKinnon just because that puck is coming off his chest protector. And he drives into it. McKinnon fly. McKinnon into his own. McKinnon down deep. Shoots it. Rebound. Save by Andrew. One point from his former teammate. Broken stick down on the ice. Off to gets it down low. McKinnon tenious. What a save by short side. He dives. Read by Jay Goinger. He’s so big. I mean, Nathan McKinnon puts it in the net and almost ended the game. Can’t believe how talented he is. But this guy, we’ve been treated to a heck of a game. A shoot and it’s off the skate. Time winds down and that will do it. We’re going to overtime here at Ball Arena for the first time this season. This has been a heck of a hockey game. Well, we were talking off camera. Sure doesn’t feel like game three, does it, gentlemen? Feels like about game 53. We’ve been treated to a dandy here tonight. Freeze up into the circle, looking, turning, holds. Here’s Mar shoots. Oh my gosh, what a glove save by that was simply incredible. I didn’t know Marty Nes could be stopped tonight. gets that on a diamond, goes up and under the bar and that massive mitt of Aer just snakes across and gobbles it up. Holy moly. Full splits, Johnny. That was spectacular. It was spectacular and that was the perfect play from Kale Mar. You know, Matt Main doesn’t have a stick. He has no way of deflecting trying to get back in. Trying to give it across. Good play by K. Three to go. Two to go. McKenna, he’s guessed. And that’s going to do it for overtime. Wedgewood between the pipes for the abs as Robertson gets the go-ahad. And here we go. He’ll swing it wide through the circle. Robertson in, looks at the slot, shoots and scores. Works his way in now. Picks up Steve to the forehand. Shoots and a save by that save was so much better than it looked cuz Matt Duchain came in, forced Wedgewood to push off his right leg and as he does, watch him keep the pad down. Oh boy, that was a sneaky play by Duchain and Wedgwood was up for the challenge. Here comes Valeri Nachuska. Big foul. Had his legs going tonight. Now he works it from his own zone. Picks it up at center ice. Nook head up. Looks down the slot. Nook to the backhander. Save. No score. He got it by. I couldn’t even see the puck go in motion using all of that length. just beats Auter to the post with no problem at all. All right, here’s Ransen. Crowd giving it to him. Ransin is in. Looks to the forehead and shoots and scores. Starting to get old, but he comes in kind of goes for the same shot that Jason Robertson picks it up. Let’s see what he wants to do through the top of the circle down the slot. McKinnon stick handling backhander save by and the Dallas Stars get the extra point. They win the shootout. [Music]
Thomas Harley had a goal and an assist, Jake Oettinger made 35 saves and Mikko Rantanen buried the game-winning goal to help the Dallas Stars beat the Colorado Avalanche 5-4.

You just knew Mikko was gonna twist the knife a little deeper if he got the chance…what a game.
Avs fan here Mikko does it again lmao 😂
Back to back heart attacks for dallas fans
felt like a playoff game already, major respect to Wedgy though, real good goalie
Absolute high school coaching from the Stars bench tonight.
nothin more i enjoy than beating the avs
Absolute cinema of a game. Otter needs a whole highlight reel of just this game.
Ugh I’m just not going to watch Avs vs Stars anymore. It’s painful to watch Dallass do the same thing every single time and get bailed out by their goalie. It’s always the Avs vs Otte with the rest of the stars just playing sloppy hockey and getting sloppy goals. But hey, Avs got a point and the Stars barely won against a backup goalie lol.
Ofc mikko had to add salt to the wound for us Avs fans 🤧
Only fitting Mikko Rantenen would get the SO winner. Can’t imagine how Avs fans are doing (feeling).
That was a heck of a game! It deserved to be played in conference finals not earlier! They didn't even bother to show full fight replay to show more of this in-game thriller 😀
Booing to Rantanen in Colorado is an embarrassment.
Avs wearing that ugly jersey again.
What homer announcers. Razor and Josh are miles better.
Great game Great rivalry
А где ничушкин? Кто скажет?
MacKinnon and Necas have developed a special chemistry that’s gonna be a problem for other teams to solve all season.
A win is a win. Jake "The Snake" Otter was great!
I love watching the avs lose
Stars!
THE BEST TEAM FROM SPORTS DALLAS!!! GO STARS
Booing Rantenen is embarrassing. Avs fans suck.
Nice uniform for Colorado
God I fkin love hockey
2 shootout wins on the road to start the season. Oh man, Let's Go Stars!!!
If you are not an Avs fan, their announcers are tough to sit through.
Давно настолько дырявых вратарей не видел
Listening to the Avs crew call a game is like being poked in the ear drum by 1,000 tiny needles woweeeee.
Even when they lost, how crazy is mackinnon and necas synergy wow
Валера без алкогольного допинга как-то не заметен , пусть лучше опять пить начнёт )))
