NHL Highlights | Canadiens vs. Blackhawks – October 11, 2025
116 years for Montreal, 100 years for Chicago, 94 years ago since its radio debut, and 73 years ago on TV, making it the longest running sports television program. Time for another season of the one and only as Cfield will try to move it back in the net. Suzuki to the point. Mat over to Noah Thompson on net. Save made by Knight. They’ll hand it off as Ryan Green tries to get to it. Green on the puck. Centered in front and that one chipped just wide by MC. New hook rolled it back to the net. Roll in front by Green. The save with Donado jamming at it in the crease. Hands it off for Demidov. Gallagher for Demidov. Back to the line. Thompson got it across. Line shoots. It’s off the blocker of Knight and out of play. Carolina to Conor Bernard. left it at the line. Princel to Verusi right across far side turn inside made the save as it rolled wide to the net. Spencer Knight will set it up. 10 seconds to go in the power play and Wyatt Kaiser will get it out. Nearly lost it top to center. Slides it over Craig. Long shot steered away by Malt. Nine out of the net. Moves it quickly and it’s grabbed by Kaiser. Long pass ahead. He’ll connect with Donado. Long shot off the blocker of Montville. Cfield the other way and over the line. Hands it off. Here’s a chance for Lane with a shot. Knight with a save off his glove. Hawks get it back. It turns black back to play the other way. And then Li gets this great chance. Absorbs the hit from Burakovski. New hook will bank it out. Ker is center. Got it across from Kulie. And a big kick by Gotham Perier. Meanwhile, Canadians on the attack this night. to save short side with cooling driving the net. Bernard lost it at his own line and it’s lifted back in by Captain. Here comes Anderson got it around for cleared out. Bernard back up nice for Chicago. Bernard will send it across. Shot down by Vuzier [Applause] comes up with the puck. Bump by Slovski. Turn over in front. Knight with a good save by off Cfield. Bouncing puck in front of the crease and it’s knocked away as he comes across to stuff him and then holds his ground there as Caulfield walks right. He’s so skilled, right? Marty has very little to want to tell him because his skills will come out naturally organically, but defense is what Marty can help him with. And Fernick Suzuki on the back end made it towards the goal. Cfield knocked down. Suzuki will roll it around to Hudson. Lane Hudson back for Nick Suzuki. Suzuki hands it off. Hold it for a shot. Scores. Paul Cfield knocks it out of the air and bangs it in. And the power play finally connects for Montreal and it’s one nothing. Know if they’re going to get that or not. Montreal moves it down to the half wall and watch Suzuki lay this out into the slot. Boop fires it and it goes off the stick. It’s kind of a muff shot and as it gets kind of deflected by Terrain, it’s coming towards the net and I believe Caulfield’s going to reach out and just change the direction of it of it with the toe of his blade. Jake Evans who’s been perfect in the faceoff circle so far tonight. 5 and0 gets it, hands it off with a shot. [Music] [Applause] [Music] Samzel gets his first National Hockey League goal and the White Hawks tie it at one. Is going to come down off the right side. He’s the D on that side. Everyone vacates off the draw, staying with their men. And that leaves Renzel an opportunity to walk down. What a great play there by Terrain. And he rips this thing into the far side of the net. What a beautiful goal the 6. And now he’s got his first NHL goal. He’s even it up as Guri with a hit on the on side for him. And here comes Cier. And it’s Goulie and Creier going at it. Gulie knew after the hit it was going to bring on something. Also back at the line, Demidov involved with Wyatt Kaiser. We’ve got two scraps going on here at the same time. Goui all tangled up with creier. Got over the right. Dam it off and Buzzi now mixing it up back inside the Chicago zone. And the temperatures turned up quickly here in Chicago as Lazar cuts through the middle and he takes a pretty good wall up and Ghoulie knows it. He knows he’s got to put his head up right away as Terrain comes in first and then Crevier comes in next. Krebier is a big big guy. 6’6 and there you see the scrum along the wall as everyone’s trying to stick up for their teammate. And there you see Demod coming over. He doesn’t like Bertusi has got it down to Cfield. Cfield hands it off along the goal line. Suzuki and tight. Cfield with a chance. the shot. They score. It’s Bulick again on the doorstep as he puts it over the crossbar and in. You can make it three games in a row with a goal and the power play marker makes it 2-1. 13 goals in his last 26 games as a blue and he’s got three more here to start the season for the Montreal Canadians as he has absolutely found his groove and his niche with this hockey club fitting in nicely in the bumper spot on the power play. He’s got a quick set of hands and a very confident set of hands. He kept the puck alive when it got kind of turned over by it’s something if they are going to win games and have any kind of success this year Your special teams have got to anti and it’s picked up by Mat shortanded. Here he comes with Jesus. The pass through. Oh, save by first of all the turnover by Renzel and a nice nice anticipation there by Mat and he knows he’s got Evans with him. He slides it over and Spencer Knight outreaches and Terrain down over watched by Dobson. Gives it off. Terrain in the slide scores. It’s off and in. [Applause] [Music] Oh, good strike back by the Chicago Blackhawks. A power play goal. Their first of the season that and that save turns into this Bertusi up to the half wall into Nazar. And as he fires this, I think it looks like Fedard is almost turning so he doesn’t want the puck to hit him in the head and it goes off his pant leg and into the net and he’ll take it. Trying to drop it high. Picked off by Chicago but hard on the attack on the wing for Burkovski. forsky with a shot save rebound in front of left but he can’t get his stick on up to center and that one got away from Ryan Donov will hand it off for Kaden Gully Gallagher at center gives it off to Kirby doc he’s in on the wing Kirby do great play backand and it’s stopped by Knight who lost his sticky I mean it’s it’s crazy I mean it’s it’s that’s a lot of ice time short-handed to handle in a hockey game. Good on those two guys. 820 for Conor Murphy and a careerhigh for both classic and Murphy in a short-handed ice. Carter check out moves it up the boards hit by Greenfield over to Suzuki’s got two one. Suzuki shoots the save and doesn’t allow the rebound. Perier bumped in by Colton Dock and Bard will lead it out. Donna Bard over the line, drops it across. Oh, great shot by Veracovsky off the post off wing. And Bard because he’s a right hand shot, he has this seam that gets across to Barakovski and the 200T player drops it back. Heracovsky wheeling his way in. Snap shot off the glove over the Cfield rolling puck. He’s in. Tries the shot. It’s blocked and thrown through the crease by Suzuki. Hudson shot gets stopped. Knocked down. Copfield’s got it. Copfield shoots, stops, rebound right. Gi shot scores. 15 seconds left on the clock. Goui shot gets through and it might have been tipped on the way to the net with Slavovski in front. Did he Montreal just wins the battle for every puck right there? You see the puck goes through the crease. Suzuki is trying to hit Hudson on the other side and then they just keep trying to squeeze pucks through and they can’t. And I think Spencer Knight reacts to the Hudson shot, but it never gets through and he’s out of position. And then Suzuki goes back to Gouie who fires it. And right there, the defenseman who runs in Renzel’s going to run into Spencer Knight. And then eventually, watch Lavosski move up to the top right there. He gets the stick in the lane and the ghouie shot hits him and gets above Knight. He’ll have to hurry up on the wing. Chipped in by himself after it off the boards for Jake Evans. He’ll try to hold it in the corner and he will as the Canadians spoil the party for the Blackhawks in their home opener and Montreal wins it three to two. [Music]
Cole Caufield recorded a goal and an assist, Juraj Slafkovsky buried the game-winner with just 15 seconds remaining, and the Montreal Canadiens took a 3-2 win over the Chicago Blackhawks.

Already too many fights on clean hits this year. If you don't want to get hit – go play soccer or ping pong
It's really difficult to lose when your team gets 10 power play opportunities and scores 2 of your 3 goals from them. Blackhawks are a continuation of SUCKAGE from last years cellar finish.
ggs chicago, gotta give credit to knight, he played amazing
YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH, LES CANADIENS!!!!!
I find myself watching the 9:42 mark of the video over and over again, watching the reactions of the Chicago fans!
Team Canada. Can't wait to see Crosby in a Montreal Canadian jersey. <3
Montembeault rarely lets his team have a 2 goal lead & they always play catch up & shoot out hockey with him in goal ! 👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽
It's so annoying in the NHL these days how a clean open ice hit like the one at 4:04 that's not dirty at all or late or aimed at the head will always instantly cause players to get all up in arms about it. There is still hitting allowed in hockey for goodness sake. If they see the replay later and it does look like a dirty hit then sure, go out to fight the guy to get payback later in the game.
Very sloppy game but I will take for the Canadians!!!
Great win by the Habs, I wonder what Bedard thinks when he sees Slaf, Hutson & Demidov enjoying themselves so much?
À la fin de la saison, ce qui importe c’est le nombre de victoires et pas la façon dont les matchs ont été gagnés. Contente de ce 2e gain en 3 rencontres. Go Habs Go 🔵⚪️🔴
🔥🔥🔥
Alberta beef!
9:40 looks like it hits Knight's dropped goalie stick, off the leg of the Hawks D, and into the net. Tough break.
If you skate through the middle of the rink with your head down, of course you are going to get clocked.
As far as the Habs go, I could do better with creative shots way back when I was in peewee, in the '60s.
Bolduc wow, love how he gets in the head of opponents
Когда уже начнут применять серьёзные санкции к тем, кто начинает драку из-за легального силового приёма. Это портит картину игры. Удалять зачинщика до конца матча сразу и потом на 5-10 игр дисквалифицировать.
Montembeault, Dobes & our defense suck ass
Sportsnet?! What is your obsession with showing Montembault spraying water on his face after he’s scored on? For the love of God, curtail this behaviour.
Why are they getting into fights after every clean open ice hit now? -__- This has been happening for awhile now. It delays the game, gives unnecessary penalties and stoppage.
if you didn't like Demidov already, seeing him dropping the gloves to stand up for teamates is almost sweater buying material!!!
Well, there we go! First, the Pittsburgh Penguins were sabotaging the New York Rangers' Centennial Season on October 7, the Montreal Canadiens were sabotaging the Detroit Red Wings' Centennial Season on October 9, and the Chicago Blackhawks' Centennial Season on October 11! The 1926 Teams' Centennial Seasons are not starting great!
Love seeing Bedard shove people and stand up for his teammates
Looks like BOLDUC is gonna get 40+ this year at this pace! And this may be the year SUZUKI breaks 100 pts! THANK YOU ST. LOUIS!
Blackhawks desperados trying to say they're playing better.
Yeah more close losses.
But still can barely score on a nightly basis.
More two goal games forthcoming for most of the season.
But I'm optimistic.
This Blackhawks roster are really positive and consistent losers
i've seen enough of laine FFS… time to move on Kent
Nice finish for our boys. An extra two instigator call on a guy when he avenges a clean solid hit would stop that BS. League likes it, sells tickets. Gladiator BS.
