NHL Highlights | Maple Leafs vs. Red Wings | October 11, 2025

a few years back. And there is the Red Wings
captain Dylan Larkin flanked by Raymond and Finny. And we’re underway. A collision at
center on Raymond. And the Maple Leaf will fired in. Austin Matthews has Matthew Ny
with him. Kept in by Brandon Carlo. That one off a leg. And here’s a twoon one. Cops
got it with Brandon Vgard. MBN shooting one. Rebound comes back. Hopper stopped by
Skolars. [Music] Got it back for Cider. over skated but flipped it around. Yonan
Bergren in the lineup for Elmer Soderblond loose in front of the net to score. They bang
in that loose puck right at the side of the net and the Maple Leafs strike first line. Detroit
has possession but everybody’s on the right side of the ice and only two white jerseys on the other
side. Tan takes a shot. It’s deflected when Talbot goes down. There he can’t readjust. Right there
in front of him is a deflection made by Ruah. And uh they ahead for Bobby McMahon. McMahon a
couple of whacks at it. Couldn’t get it out. There’s a break for the break. Big save there by
Stalard. last season with Winnipeg. [Applause] Back it comes to the line for Riley.
They score. Tip down in front. Well, you’re living right when pucks go in
the net like this. And it’s unfortunate for Detroit. Mids slot, two points if it’s
his goal. kneelander starts the play out and then Riley just goes to the front
of the net. Yep. It’s Wah. Yeah. I mean, right down in on a one bouncer. There’s no chance
for your goalie unless it hits him. Yeah. Yep. It’s W’s goal in a two nothing Toronto lead.
So nothing and all those chances for Detroit coming back to back to back and a break here.
Doi catching up with him is Robertson. Doi right in the shot. The save made and he’ll
smother the rebound. Soars are still down. Chel on it again. 18 points in 55 games with
Utah last season and a save made. Oh boy. Last time I talked to Luke, he’s probably going to
go back over there again about another month or so. Luke’s from Holland, Michigan along with
Wayne Hudson. Oh, beautiful shot by Casper. move. It’s two to one. [Applause] [Music] [Applause]
Catches a short side top corner again. A puck battle win by Detroit and a boom. That might have
gone up the defenseman Ecman Larson stick. No, it did not. Just barely over the top, but
nonetheless, perfectly placed shot by number 92 cabinet. Here’s Larkin. went back that way.
Raymond circling with it in front. Big save. Oh, what a stop. Larkin. Oh, and another stop by
Skolar. Puck is loose. Backhanded by Finny. Larkin in behind the net. Getting away from Riley. Larkin on it again. They
score. Lucas Raymond. It’s 22. [Music] wide open net and again the
forch check pressure paid off. Larkin gets position on Riley. It goes off the
stick or the skate right in front of the goalender of who else but Nicholas Roa right
there. He got Toronto’s second goal and he’s in on this Detroit second goal. And we have
got a tie game. Wow. Kane with it. High slot. Good save off Joe Hansen by Stallard. Kane
scores. Patrick Kane. One timer. Roof of the net. It’s three to two. Three unanswered
in the second. [Applause] Wow. [Applause] I thought Johansson shoots the puck right there.
He doesn’t. It’s it’s it’s a save through traffic and then across the front of the net where Toronto
had overplayed everybody to the right of the goalie and a high wide look. We’ll show you when
we get a chance. Look at Kane. He is not calling for it. He’s got his stick up in the air. He won’t
give his position away by banging his stick on the ice. [Applause] Raymond just lifted one to center
ice. Here’s Larkin a raceport. Larkin in on goal and a save by Stallard. Carlo pass for centering
one. Got to be careful here. Four on four and three. Leafs break in. Here’s Diy. Doi high slot
shot scores. It squeaks through. A piece of it by Telbot but not enough of it. And we’re tied
at three in the third. So what happens here is he had a a partial threeon two. Hesitated. Now
here comes Riley’s in the play. Watch him slow up. Go to the middle. Everybody overback checks
and uh we got a tie game. Four on four. Yeah, Riley forcing the defense back, driving the
net. See the communication there and it’s just such a smart play by DOI to allow a smart play by
number 11. Smart play there by Johansson to bring it back for Kane. Kane a backhand shot shrugged
aside Raymond to Cider for Lucas Raymond. Larkin in front. There’s a shot blocked by Tanip. He
does a lot of that. Here’s to break it. Let go by Raymond across for Kane to Raymond. He scores.
What a beautiful play. A power play goal and goal number 100 for Lucas Raymond. He’s hurting.
It’s his right wrist. It’s his bottom hand on his shooting hand. That’s the power hand.
And guess what? Penalty about to expire. And it does run out of the box. They jam it up in the
corner. So they kill off the power play. But look out. Matthews a shot and a save by Tel. Puck is
loose. He’s down and it’s underneath. Oh, hold on. Is looking. He’s coming. Finally gets
the center. Shoots it in and Telvet will leave it there. An empty net for Simon
Edmonson. The empty net. He scores. God, how about that? [Music] How sweet it
is. It’s five to three. [Applause] for sure. And he’s having words with Matthew
Ny at center. They had words earlier and he just said to the looked
up at the scoreboard and said, “Take a look at that.” They’ll meet again
Monday afternoon. Yeah. But Edmonson having words again with Matthew Kn. Yeah. Red Wings
lost their opener to Montreal at center ice. Back in it came. 7 seconds left. Looking
for the empty net. He scores. Andrew P. Six to three. [Applause] Take him when you
can get him. Quite a quite an outcome from 2 hours and 30 minutes ago. Well, I’ll say
two hours ago at the end of the first period when it looked pretty dismal for Detroit
and really changed this game with three straight goals to take the lead. And what
a huge comeback win this is for the home team tonight. And they’ll meet again. Lucas
Raymond, 23 or younger, joining Matt Sundine.

  1. This will be a better Red Wings team this season than the last two seasons. I'm really impressed with ASP defensively. I know he can be offensive, but he's showing what he can do defensively and he looks like he belongs out there.

  2. I wonder if Rose when Rose will allow his boys to drop and be honest about the Leafs. After their abysmal loss to Florida in the 2nd Round last year, he was on the board with the Organization blaming most of it on Marner. After 2 games Mitch has 2pts and is +4…Rose’s Captain Courageous has1pt, an empty net goal and his +/- is 0. Of course Rose and his buddies are paid to be fanboys and will sing whatever song they’re told to sing. When will they turn on Mathews, Knies and the 3rd and 4th liners the brilliant Trey Living brought on board. The Leafs lost to:
D E T R O I T!!!!!! Rose won’t say it…until it actually happens…but I will; the Leaf’s will be much worse this year than last and will be in decline for the next 3 years. They won’t be bad enough to warrant a ShanaPLAN…sooo bad that they are rewarded for failure with high draft picks. THIS…to Rose and the FANBOYS, was called a ShanaPLAN. TORONTO, in their infinite wisdom (Keeping “Shanny” on board and paying MILLION$ for years) never addressed the core issues…and they squandered away the years with Willy, Mitch and Captain Courageous. The Defence is still soft and porous and the Team is not deep. It really is a shame.
