NHL Highlights | Canucks vs. Oilers – October 11, 2025
Edmonton, Vancouver. Hockey night in Canada. Oilers looking for their first win of the year. Vancouver looking for yet another solid start to the year. Last two years, the Canucks have really broken out of the gates well to his deep partner Emerson as both teams shuffle the deck. Garland inside and a quick one-time taken by Philip Heedle who scored twice for Edmonton who just wheeled it for dry. Suddle was fifth. Ekholm hits the line. Trent Frederick centering pass. We gave it a shot and that just missed. Wasn’t feeling all that well and missed practice yesterday but good to go tonight on Japani dishes off. Nan Hopkins waits and what a save made by Demco on Seo. A brilliant read by Demco by Dryel. This is an excellent car by Darnell Nurse looking far blue line for Mjapani and the hard pass across the mats avoid by Nan Hopkins. One chance just can’t corral and elevate that second chance with any team let alone the Oilers. Here’s Regulo along to go. His shot off the right shoulder of Demco Booard to Dry subtle curled it back to McDavid. Now Dry settle Edmonson has Vancouver in the spin cycle. McDavid hesitates to the net. Rolled available. Deco Sherwood got a piece. Deflected away by Nurse. And now Tamasha onto Isaac Howard. Adam Henrique to the net. Batted down by Meyers. Henrik one-time Nurse. And that was kicked out. Nurse looking for Von Japani down low. Scored against his former team, the Flames, on Wednesday. Here’s a that’s tipped and immediately waved off. No goal on the ice and now and only now does the crowd realize that Kyle Raymond rules that it was played with a high stick. It’s the quick shot from Regula here and he zips this puck and you can see where it is deflected. It’s off the shaft and that’s important too where it hits the blade. It’s darn down low actually. Great hand eye coordination to knock this down. He’s not a little guy. It’s up by the shoulders right here. You’ll see. And as we saw the other night here, it was called a goal on the ice. Hard to overrule this one here. We’ll take a look at this when we come back. They’ll have a decision. And then turned over by Evander Kane. Had his pocket picked by McDavid. Dry loading. Tried to center. Grabbed in front. McDavid. Shot. Blocked by Garland. Rebound. McDavid. Got inside. Centered. And what a save and go on Leon dry. Settle by six points. Here’s Boo Shark. McDavid side of the net. Dujent Hopkins stopped. Tomasic point blank. Another save. Lost a close one in game five. The Oilers went back to Steuart Skinner to win the series in game six and seven. Noah Phil. Beautiful dish. Wrist shot stopped. Another chance off the rush here. Hard pass by Noah Phil. Threads the needle right through to Pod Kohl’s and he gets it away quickly and he just kind of shovels this one towards Demco. Not an easy save. He’s got Heronic all over him. remembers it though. He does remember taking that picture which is great. He’s a good close friend to your family, Jack. I know Tyler, your son, played minor hockey with him. Starts to build a little bit when you’re not seeing pucks go by. Hard shot here by Basser. Tries the test. Pick it up high. He fights that one off. Good look for the Canucks in the slot. Dug out by Leon Dryid. Here’s an opening for Frederick. One-time McDavid. Stopped by Thatcher Demco pinning it. Leon drives subtle scored a power play goal the other night. Now McDavid on the net back door couple of whacks at it and again denied. Conversation with Tomasic this morning about coming over after 10 years over in Europe and he has a couple of real good whacks at this puck after McDavid again from the half wall drives this onto the backhand side and threads it through. There’s one good stick again to be strong on it by big Tyler Myers just to not allow Tomasic to have a clean look at this thing. The league’s power play goals leader over the last seven years. No one else even close. McDavid dry settle in front. Loading, firing, and another sprawling save. Robs Damasic. He’s going to have Demco nightmares if this continues cuz he’s had some great looks and he had time this opportunity to pick his spot. Beautiful pass by Dryidle. Threads the needle once again and just that Europe. It’s a dream come true for Tamasic who didn’t want to end his career without giving the NHL a shot and a decent shot. It’s been through four NHL periods. Vancouver with 40 seconds of power play time to start the second. Louis and Jack with the goal. Thank you, Scott. And indeed 26 minutes have been played. No score in the game. Boilers a plus 10 on the shot clock but Demco superlative. The wrist shot dies in the leather of Demco at the expense of Noah Filton. I understand wallpapering Leon dry who now looks inside gives it Frederick denied. Deco once again. Dryle dropping it off for McDavid heading for the net. Back door settle shot blocked. Rebound New Jumpkins can’t get there now. Dry subtle 45 seconds on the man advantage. Dry subtle booar wrist shot. Save Dempo. No rebound. Dropping it off for Car Garland. Centering pass intercepted by Paka. Back to five on five. Here’s Phil to Captain Back to Noah. Fil shoots and scores. His first in the National Hockey League. Noah gives Edmonton a one- nothing lead [Music] with this one. And for Garland, he tries to throw this puck out to the middle, but it goes to an Oiler and it’s a quick attack down the other way. Couple quick passes threaded through some sticks wide to Kappa and back to Phil and he doesn’t hang on to this one for long. Backhand to forehand maybe gets a little help from Tyler Meyers. on to Ratu. Shadowed tightly by Darnell Nurse. Raula taken hard into the boards by Kane. Four on four still in effect for another half a minute with a minute to go in this second period. Noah Phil. Oh, here’s a turnover. Majapani loads and fires and scores. Dead giveaway and Mapani makes Vancouver pay for it. opportunity, but it’s backtracking. This is what Mapani can bring. Speed to backtrack, picks off a puck, picks it, Jack, I couldn’t have pulled that off, but Scott, we happen to be working with a guy whose perhaps most famous picture is a player was taken in a Canadian tuxedo. So, shots 289. Here’s the Brusk inside. And that was a good look and then a ring off the bar on the deflection. So the Canucks come out buzzing. Here’s Bess. He scores. And less than a minute into the third period, the Canucks, who got four in the third to beat Calgary, have cut the lead in half. Brock Besser, but it’s the corelling of the puck afterwards. This puck is way off target. I think he was just trying to throw this back down into the mix. That’s Quinn Hughes. Great hand eye here by Besser. Knocks it down to himself. The spin move has kept his team in this game. Now Koulak on to Nen Hopkins centering pass. Seavoy stopped point blank by Thatcher Demco deep. You know there’s going to be a chance the other way. And this is Nan Hopkins as he’s navigates through a nice pass wide and Japan has just been so good with his speed getting down that left hand side and he throws it right to Seavoy again. Booard to Nan Hopkins in front drags Ronic broken up kept alive back door. What a save by that GCO robbery on Leon Dryidle. Sensational. This game’s a one-goal game this late in the third period. Tons of action in traffic and Dryidle thinks he’s got the wide open net and the reach behind by Demoter defense absolutely steamrolled a huge hit and then Phil and Koul went right back after Kane see there’ll be some penalties on the play here I believe one penalty to Edmonton and a power play for Vancouver. Minute 25 to go in the hockey game. De Bruss can’t find it. McDavid locates, turns, no shot, drops it off. Nurse up to Tricycle. Pat Gator score. [Music] 3-1 Edmonson. Empty net or Leon dry gets a stick in there. Maybe the to picker at the end to keep it out. And then Leon Drya on the back hand corrals it with the skate. Darnell Nurse gets it up to him and he just zips this one through and finds the post and is it’ll die near the goal line and the Conucks will let the run time run out. Final score Edmonson three Vancouver one as the Canucks are held to just 15 shots on net. [Music]
Noah Philp recorded his first career NHL goal, Andrew Mangiapane added a goal of his own, and the Edmonton Oilers earned a 3-1 win over the Vancouver Canucks.

Check out that goalie making 20 saves before one gets past him. Wish we had a goalie that did that
Pulling thr goalie with a power play and over a minute left made no sense.
Not enough third period shots for the canucks. After Demko's great save on Draisaitl and Kane's hit and subsequent PP, the team needs to get some offence going.
Demko Vs oilers tonight
if Vancouver had those chances against the Oilers it would have been 10-2. We need a goalie like that.
1:20 mcbaby lying on the ice wants a penalty lol.
Demko man. 🐐
Shouldve kept demko in. He was the reason it was a 1 pt game in the first place. They already had a man advantage.
The absolute disrespect on the backhander for the open net. Demko was insane.
The Canucks are literally an AHL team with an unreal goalie. Send Demko to the Oilers and retain 50%, you guys can have Skinner, that's fair for both goalies
Oilers bent the Nucks over their knee
Sum: Demko Demko Mcdavid Deeemko Deeeeeeeeemko Mcdavid Draisaitl Demko Mcdavid Deeeeemkkoo Demkooo Brook BessDeeeeemko Demko Mcdavid etc etc
EP didn't show up until late in the third when he realized they were behind by a point. Kane was brutal on the power play, and quite reckless out there. All of them, with the exception of Demko—he was a beast—were just coasting and reacting instead of playing there game.
Vancouver is a one man team – Demko. Was Elias Patterson playing or was he a scratch? The losing season for Canucks star
reminded me of last years team (excluding Demko).
If you make a hard hit today players will jump at you
Petey's left pinky is injured again. Give him 3 months to rehab and he'll be right back to 100% and the player Vancouver paid 12 million a year for.
Quinn Hughes against 4th liners, name a more iconic duo
canucks are trash if we arent even in the same league as the oilers this year how are we gonna get past them the next 3 years gg go full rebuild we not getting past the oilers. mis manged to the ground fire everyone
I think that was a serious handful for the Canucks who have a lot of young, new players and a new coach and new system to learn… Well deserved win by the Oil, almost snatched away by Thatcher. I think for game 2, still finding chemistry and adapting, this was a forgivable loss from the Canucks, but I want to see a better performance by the team in the next rematch.
The difference between these goalies!
Commentators are on fire
Demko, erstklassiger Torwart.👍🏻
Players high on human dmt for satanic rituals like sidney Cosby
Dude…. if we get maybe Demko for Edmonton we maybe be able to finally lift the cup ? Dude almost single handled carried this game for Vancouver!
Tomášek looking rly good so far on the line with Draisaitl and McJeez. Im having a good feeling bout this season, but we NEED to get decent goalie. Maybe Ingram steps up ? Picks is also solid but a bit shakey….. but for Skinner though i cant make any excuses more…. i liek him but hes not an NHL goalie, thats for sure
That backhand skating behind empty net goal by Leon was sick af
Tomášek class 💪 he's gonna show you what a steal for Oilers he is 🙂
This is probably gonna get lost but look at this shot at 3:36 and the save by Demko which makes him so good. He does not WATCH THE PUCK. He immediately looks past the puck to the man about to receive the pass, and is already in position before McDavid shoots. Wild stuff.
Canucks would get better use out of Petterson as a pylon in the arena parking lot!
Демко!!!!!
Jesus!! What a one sided broadcast of a hockey game 😮
coilers played mcdiver, crysaitl and douchard 25 mins each, while rest of team got 10 to 15 min each. over 82 games plus olympics, those guys will get worn out. coilers will be out in first round if they keep doing that
The entire Oilers team just looks rejuvenated much faster more energy better effort. There going to have a good season. Plus Demko is wild robbing Drai like that.
ty for the ez win. 🙏
