I’m going to lose my fucking mind if these guys are already moping around by GAME FUCKING TWO.

And by these guys I mean this team not the fans.
They’re fragile. Mentally and emotionally fragile. I know it’s inevitable to compare them to the Bills but could you imagine the Bills talking like this? They had to watch a dude die to become half as fragile as the Sabres. Just absolutely no grit in this team.

Soft.
It was a fun one goal before we got eliminated
They’re fragile. It’s really too bad. This team has so much potential
Mental midgets
Right? 2 close games with significant injuries and they’re morale is down? Did you really expect to go 82-0? Quite honestly, I’m impressed that the games have been close and Lyon looks solid in goal. Once benson and kesselring are back they will be a 500 hockey team. Make a move at some point for a center to replace Norris and you’ve got a playoff team
They shouldn’t be giving up after 2 games! Have some pride.
I honestly can’t imagine sitting in that locker room after your GM does almost absolutely nothing to really help this team. These guys don’t buy any of the “it’s in the room” bullshit any more than the fans do.
It’s gotta be absolutely deflating and it’s 1000% on the front office.
A team that has been this bad for as long as it has, shouldn’t have a depth problem anymore and shouldn’t be so close to the cap. KA has totally screwed them.
The Sabres should hire Bruce Boudreau as head coach. He won’t win them a Stanley cup. But he’s literally gotten every dumpster fire team he’s been hired to coach into the playoffs. He has no idea how to outcoach another team’s systems in a seven game series, but he sure as shit knows how to get young players to believe they can and should be winning every night. Once they’re at that point, ownership just needs to know when it’s time to move on.
Coincidentally, Sean McDermott is the Bruce Boudreau of the NFL. And we’re about 4 years past when we should have moved on.
Man fuck this team
Those 2 crushing pre-season losses in a row to Pittsburgh when we were mostly at full strength and it was a wrap. Their Epitaph was written before it started. Injuries all around. No direction at all. This is a rock bottom I didn’t know existed.
Am I wrong to think that these guys getting paid invalidates the “morale” and “emotional stability” excuse? Like, it is their job to preform and give it 100% and it didn’t look like that was the case tonight. Some guys looked like they showed up to play but a lot didn’t. The reason I bring getting paid into question is they’re bought and paid for. If you wanted the ability to whine and say “Hey man my heart isn’t in it today, so don’t expect much.” then they should have kept hockey as a hobby and not as a profession. The morale excuse seems like just that, an excuse to get paid and not have to do the work.
With that being said, I want to see the boys do well and I’m not on the doomed bandwagon. It’s just that if I can show up as a fan when it is hard to then I expect the boys to show up as players when it’s hard to, if they cannot be bothered how can I?
Bring back Arttu Ruotsalainen, scoring problem solved.
I hope this isn’t real. If u need a jolt after 2 games then you’re toast.
Took 1 game…
So morale was hinging on the health of a notoriously fragile 2c who was being forced into our 1c spot?
The way they looked coming off the ice after the first period looked like how a team would come off the ice after game 74 when you are eliminated from the playoffs. Maybe worse.
Remember when Granato got fired and all the guys in the locker room were talking about how they needed someone to hold them accountable? Why couldn’t they hold themselves accountable as a team, why did they need a coach to force it? This core might just not have it in them mentally. Obviously the biggest problem is Terry and KA, but the players really don’t seem to be helping.
Fragile team. GM with no direction. Coach that only has a job so fans buy tickets. Deadbeat ownership.
Tbf they lasted longer than I did. I had zero faith in this season by July 10th when the team decided all the answers were already in the room.
They will mope until they miss the playoffs (again) and head to the links… no moping when your wealthy and golfing…
You don’t come out after getting beat 4 zip on home ice and get outshot 17-1 in the first period unless you’re either a terrible team, have terrible coaching and management, have no guts, or all three. Some of us have been around long enough to see the obvious.
NHL lineup is a joke and the prospect pool is the weakest it has been during the drought.
Gut the front office, identify five or six core guys, and rebuild. Not sure I see another way out.
They’re all soft. They blame everything and everyone else and never look in the mirror.
It’s sort of strange that they’d be upset by this loss, I mean, 80 and 2 is where I placed all my bets.
Tage is soft as baby shit. He looked like he lost his puppy last night.
