Through two games, Ghost-Niki is the top D-line in the NHL and Svech-Stank-Blake is the #2 forward line.

  1. I hope they keep it rolling

Also: if there was ever a clear example of small sample size error, Trouba in the top five is it

  2. I love Gostisbehere, even have a jersey with his name, but I never would have guessed he’d be the guy to play his offhand so well.

  3. Ghost definitely had a good game but it’s hard for me to forget that he was a defensive liability last year.

  4. This isn’t adjusted for quality of competition. BUT they are definitely dominating the 3rd pairs and fourth lines of other teams so far

  5. Biased, yes, because I love Boom since his KHL days, but watching his first two games this year, especially last night, he’s still a little timid, but man, he makes some real smart plays. Jumping in rushes often, lots of defensive steals, those couple shot blocks he had last night…when he gets some more experience and confidence (and minutes, PLEASE Rod!), he is going to be good. And how about some PP2 time? Walker? Really?

  6. Our entire roster as it sits is cooking and has even greater potential.

I’m loving how well all the rest of the lines are playing that they are leaving 20 & 24 to almost disappear. Just for them to remind everyone with some late third points. I won’t stop saying how excited this team has become in the last season. The last decade has surely made up for the previous ten years of failure since ‘06.

  7. this is awesome to see but the canes system always makes them have exceptionally high xgoals. xgoals don’t always translate to real goals though…
