I know it’s been not a great record and the first two drafts weren’t that great, but look at our key players that have contributed so far since 2024:
WR Malik Nabers
S Tyler Nubin
CB Andru Phillips
TE Theo Johnson
RB Tyrone Tracy Jr.
LB Darius Muasau
QB Jaxon Dart
RB Cam Skattebo
G Marcus Mbow
LB Abdul Carter (*he’ll pick it up as the season goes on)
‘22 & ‘23 good ones are Robinson, Flott, McFadden, Schmitz….Bellinger, Belton, and Davidson are good roles players
Makes me think who should stick around if we had to choose between him and Daboll…but then again he let Saquon walk so idk..
thoughts?

This sub has been calling for his crucifixion for months lol
Kayvon is having a great season too
His first year draft is aging very well. Robinson, Thibs, McFadden, Belton, Flott.
They all seem to be improving (something I didn’t think I’d say a couple weeks ago).
He’s not as bad as people keep wanting to paint him to as
I thought this sub said he had to go. What a schizoid place this is.
I agree with everything except for your last comment. He didn’t let Saquon walk. John Mara reportedly blocked his trade request and I don’t think he really wanted to be here anyway.
>but then again he let Saquon walk so idk
Look, I get we look like absolute morons for *how* we handled Saquon but it was never the wrong move for a rebuilding team to let go of an oft-injured RB whose stats weren’t exactly eyepopping anymore. Saquon obviously looked incredible last year but he’s pretty damn mediocre this season after the workload he got last season. I’m not upset to not have him and honestly, his stupid documentary makes me even more glad he’s not on our team. He’s *such* a victim.
Yeah he has.
I know alot of the guys you mentioned are starters, but:
JMS has not bee good, he is a below average C and probably will be gone after next year
Nubin has been very bad this year
Dru Phillips is really up and down. Most targeted and penalized CB in the league so far this year.
His 2023 draft was an absolute disaster
I forgot where I heard it, but some Giants insider was saying last year that Schoen had trouble early on in drafts because it took him some time to bring in his own scouts that he trusts, and his first drafts were completed using the established scouts that were there when he arrived. Not sure how accurate that may be, but it makes some sense.
I’m doubling down. i will always think he’s awful but Dart and Skat are good, so maybe he’s just now starting to figure it out.
Don’t forget the trade for Burns
I know it’s not part of the draft, but still
Too bad drafting isn’t the only thing that matters for GM’s.
We routinely don’t have 53 healthy players at game time, are the only team to have a kicker get hurt and not have a viable replacement 3 years straight.
Our WR room is so shallow that we lost 2 players and played our game against the eagles with 4/5 receivers who had 0 catches on the year.
We somehow have no cap space available despite having such limited talent on offense and a QB and WR1 on a rookie contract
Nubin? He’s awful
Unless something goes off the rails with their conduct or something along those lines I still hold that we let Daboll finish out the year (Schoen as well but it may be advantageous to can him in December so we can start on the GM process early).
In Dabolls case I’d rather keep as much possible for Dart static the entire season if need be. Plus neither of our coordinators screams “Get a look at me as head coach asap”.
We are the most opinion-bipolar fanbase in the sports world lmao
Consensus in this sub was that Schoen doesn’t know what he’s doing because most of the draft picks are no longer with the Giants or busts now all of a sudden he’s been cooking.
Chaos is a ladder
He should still be gone. Something is fishy about the beginning of the season. A lot of in fighting it seems. I suspect Schoen is to blame for a lot of the boneheaded decisions.
Joe Schoens problems are:
1) his coaching staff is not developing the players at all.
2) in season management of the roster is absolutely abysmal.
The fact that this is even a question and upvoted is hilarious. But it also speaks to how necessary patience is when you’re trying to rebuild a franchise.
We had a good year in year 1 with them. Dealt with tough injuries to Dimes and Saquon, then had a roster overhaul while committing to no dead future cap. All of a sudden some young players look good and the front office and coaching staff gets some love.
It’s all reactionary narrative
He said something in Hard Knocks that made me think he knew he screwed up his first drafts but that he was learning from it
They need to do what the Knicks did with Mill/Perry Fizdale and get rid of the coach and reduce Schoen’s role to what he’s good at and get rid of the other cancers. It worked for the Knicks would love to see it here
Bellinger was having a hell of a start before that eye injury. He hasn’t been the same player since.
I think he’s been pretty good.. so far we won’t the draft this year atleast.. he picks the players.. he doesn’t choose the plays or play himself.. he’s picked well
Tyler Nubin fucking sucks and Dru is the most penalized corner in the league.
The drafts have been fine. The roster management has been not so fine. (Exhibit A: placekicker missing for three games. Exhibit B: Dressing only 51 players against the Saints when we had Lil’Jordan Humphrey on the practice squad. I could go on….)
Don’t put Nubin on the list. He’s playing but hardly showing up.
Can you guys decide if he is cooking? I personally know he is a legit GM with all the experience in scouting. 2022 and 2023 were not drafts with his scouts. His current scouts are his people and they making a damn well sure they hitting on the right players.
Would be hilarious if it’s his son making all the picks for him
Brian Burns for a 2nd is looking good right now
I was getting downvoted to hell when I said he wasn’t a bad gm 2 weeks ago, lmao this fanbase is so bipolar.
The roster management has been abysmal and we have no depth whatsoever. Look no further than our WR room. Drafting Carter and knowing Burns is a good player isn’t cooking.
And as far as drafting goes, our first round DB is unplayable. Let’s reign it it lol
We had 10 years of suck too.
Every thing is rosy when you win. Lose and you’re a turd.
I remember giants fans praising Schoen in his first year like he was the next best thing next to sliced bread,
its truly comical fans still buy into Schoen as GM after 2 wins and giants regressing every year.
I’ve said for the past few years he really is a good gm, it’s just his one miss (signing DJ, letting saquan walk) was a bigggg miss, but he drafts overall well, alot of his misses happened in one draft so it again looks very bad
You guys are unreal. Just unreal.
This team is 2-3, and lost to a very bad Saints team.
I’m so sick of both of them
