Madbum last pitched in the majors in 2023. He’s 9.5 years younger than the oldest MLB pitcher this year. He sat out for a while so his velocity should be 100% back right? Thats how that works right. Yes. Sign him

  1. On December 8, 2005, at age 47, Julio Franco signed a two-year contract with the Mets. That’s my kind of thinking

  2. Just had to go ride his dirt bike over the all star break and couldn’t wait until after the season.

  3. I know this is a joke, but this is the kind of thing you’d see posted with 100% seriousness/sincerity in the Kruk & Kuip Facebook group.

  4. Not necessarily. Depends on the reason it fell off. Timmy’s hips wore out and he never recovered.

  5. The damage he did to his shoulder riding dirt bikes in 2017 may no longer affect him, but at his age, it wouldn’t help. He didn’t want to use much of the data that Torey Lovullo was trying to give to him to pitch with. I think he likes being away from the spotlight and out of the view of the general public. The last two points make me believe he’s never going to show up as a pitching coach somewhere either.

Short of some dramatic rule changes, the modern game isn’t for him. He wants to throw the ball, without any home run poses or bat flips, without a bunch of numbers to worry about, and pitch the 7th inning in 90% of his starts. That game doesn’t exist anymore. That plus him enjoying some measure of privacy, we’ve probably seen the last of MadBum.
