Really lame for the refs to take this play from V8. He clearly got the ball out before the play was called dead.

If you fumble on the second push of the tush push, it’s ruled forward progress. If you push through on the second push of the tush push, it’s ruled a touchdown.
Really no excuse for that. I can see the argument that forward progress was stopped. But the whistle didn’t blow. The play wasn’t dead. Forward progress is a judgment call and the refs judged that it wasn’t stopped at that point, by the fact that there was no whistle until well after the ball comes out and is recovered.
The refs have been atrocious against the rams the last few weeks. Two weeks of multiple turnovers that were overturned by nonsense flags, and idiotic forward progress calls.
This pissed me off big time…
Every game there is some bs like this that the refs pretend to not see

Yea..
True by the letter of the law, but what did it affect?
Forward progress is clearly stopped but as many pointed out if he makes a second push they’d count the TD no problem.
Can you stop forward progress without a whistle? Wtg
this is one of the reasons why the tush push fucking sucks (the other being the false starts). its just arbitrary when they decide to blow the whistle.
Yea that was all bs you cant blow the whistle after and call it back after the ball was fumbled n verse picked it up that was like an oh shit whistle by the ref to stop the rams
This is why that play should be made illegal the refs cannot officiate it. Yea we stopped them great! But the play is still not being called anywhere near acceptable. Will there be mistakes, always you have to accept that but when a play is called wrong every single time and the refs just throw up their hands that’s unacceptable.
I was screaming at this. Especially when the one ref throws the blue bag they shouldn’t have called this dead. This was incredibly frustrating.
Was at the game and that should have been a fumble.
they don’t fucking care. that’s the problem.
If you’re not going to allow that the ball might come out in that mass of humanity, WTF are we even doing with this play? You’re making it a zero risk play
And I imagine we have all been Rams fans long enough to know how this would have played out if you reversed the teams… yep
I don’t know how many of you here were fans during the St Louis days, but sequences like this occurred EVERY GAME back then. I’m not talking about calls every fan disagrees with, I mean totally head scratching administrative type things you don’t see in ANY other game, always to the Rams’ detriment.
I call it the “Kill Football In St Louis” era of Rams football
I’m still glad that they stopped this play before making a key stop for the final run because the Ravens had just realized that two tush pushes didn’t succeed as they had hoped!
The one ref (idk if it’s the one on the bottom or right of the screen here, assume it’s the one running with V8) literally throws his beanbag down to indicate it’s a fumble, and there was no whistles, I genuinely have no idea how they made that call.
Thankfully it ended up not mattering whatsoever, but idk I don’t see how this wasn’t an atrocious call
I think the league is going to have no choice, especially with the league outcry, to ban this play at the end of the season.
something similar happened during georgia vs auburn last night
The one ref threw out the blue bean bag signafying the ball was lose before the first whistle was blown. Then a different ref blows a whistle.
I thought so too. It felt like they were trying to level the playing field for SF and again today for Baltimore. Pure fucking bullshit. I also find it hilarious how there’s false start on every tush push that goes uncalled but the right tackle is a couple feet too far upfield before a punt and the the only good special teams play of the season gets called back.
