Solid game numbers are going to be way higher with Luka passing to him
This is an excellent mindsent from Ayton.
We need him to focus on defense since we have an elite offense, even with him being underwhelming on that end, but we need as much defensive help as possible.
I think he’ll be awesome for us on both ends and will be sensational value for money.
I’m not expecting him to be close to an all star level player, especially in the loaded west, but be a good starting caliber C.

I think it isnt lost to him how big of a legacy role this is for him. He is up next in a LONG line of Lakers bigs. All time greats, Pillars of the sport have played that spot, put on that jersey. I love that he is owning it and trying to put the league on notice. Good for the young man.
I love the DeAndre Ayton experience so far.
He’s playing great defense, his offense has been coming around. If he keeps playing this level of defense paired with the offense Luka creates for him he’s gonna be amazing.
If he’s putting up 16/11 with 2 blocks he can be the long term answer at C and I wouldn’t be mad at that
I like his positive attitude and mindset. I hope he continues to shut out the noise and focus on his game

I’m sitting here thinking that maybe it just took him longer than some to grow up and now he is ready. 😂 I get that basketball doesn’t work like this, but I am gonna believe.
He needs to not shy away from contact. He’s kinda soft on that end, and settling on jumpers and floaters even playing against people smaller than him.
Just wait until he plays with Luka.
