LATEST Vikings Rumors On J.J. McCarthy, Justin Jefferson & Kwesi Adofo-Mensah

[Music] Yo, what’s going on Vikings fans? Welcome in the Vikings now by chat sports. My name is Patrick Seatman and coming up on today’s show, a good oldfashioned Minnesota Vikings mailbag where it’s me and you chopping it up about our favorite football team. It’s the bye-week. Not a whole lot to talk about. That’s why I wanted to get you guys multiple mailbags this week. And we’re going to start off with Uncle Paul. What’s going on, man? saying, “Hashtag Vikings, do you think we will stand a chance at winning the division this year after seeing all the injuries we had so far?” Um, you know, still have a chance. Uh, there’s no doubt about it. Now, also, Uncle Paul, and for all Vikings fans watching, unfortunately, I do believe that the Detroit Lions are not only the best team in the NFC, obviously the best team in the NFC North, but I think they’re the best team in football. You go back and look at um Brad Holmes past, I think, five draft class for the Lions. They have had an allp pro player in every single draft class. Like they got a Lee McNeel in the third round. Like you got Kirby Joseph I believe in the third round. Like he has found home run hits and that’s why this Lions roster top to bottom is absolutely loaded. So I think the division is going to be tough. But what is also so huge, Uncle Paul, why that Browns win was so massive is it kind of kept you, you know, afloat because now you’re three and two. Okay, let’s go beat the Eagles. You know what? If you somehow beat the Chargers, you’re 5-2 rolling into Detroit. What if they lose to the Chiefs this week? That could be 5-2 versus 5-2. A massive game. in the NFC North. So, yeah, it’s 100% still on the table, but Uncle Paul, you got to get healthy. You got to develop J.J. McCarthy. Those are two biggest uh factors in terms of the Vikings winning the NFC North. Noah Carl, do you like having two Monday Night Football games? Also, do you think there will be an international game for each team in the near future? Like Roger Goodell said, uh first one, I’m not the biggest fan of it. Now, I will say the two Monday night football games, the one biggest negative is you don’t have another football game on Sunday. The only way I like the two Monday night football games is it’s like the situation we had a couple weeks ago where it was two awful games where it was Jets, Dolphins, then it was Broncos, Bengals. Like then I like having two games because you’re just hoping one of them is a fun game to watch. But I like this weekend I think it’s Bills, Falcons, then it’s Commanders, Bears. Spread those up. Spread those around. Like I want all attention on Monday night. So I’m not the biggest fan of it. Now, about the international game for each team, 110%. I think that’s probably going to happen next season because obviously the NFL, they’re selling, you know, their TV rights left and right. And I guarantee you Roger Goodell is going to go to Netflix. He’s going to go to Peacock, Hulu, one of these streaming services and say, “Hey, here’s a 17 game package. You get one international game every single week. Give us whatever money you want.” And these streaming services, like the NFL, there really is no negotiating. like they can set whatever number they want. So yeah, I think 100% we will have something where each game or each team gets an international game one time during the season, which would also probably incorporate an 18th game in total of the year, which would probably make sure you have two by-weeks, but yeah, that’s coming eventually. No doubt in my mind. Jacob Pat, how do you think we’re going to attack the Eagles defense? Um, we’ll get a good look at them on Thursday night. We’re filming this uh right before that game, actually. Um, so get a good scout there. But you know, the Eagles defense, even though they haven’t been as dominant as it were in years past, especially this past season, they’re still very good. Um, but I think your biggest advantage against the Eagles are the guys on the perimeter. Like it’s Justin Jefferson against Cooper Deian. Cooper Deian’s a hell of a [ __ ] football player. But also Justin Jefferson’s the best in the game. Jordan Addison verse Quinnon Mitchell or even if they put Quinnon on Jefferson, I like that advantage every single week for the Vikings. That’s what’s also so nice about this football team. Every single week, the Vikings have the advantage on the perimeter. It doesn’t matter who it is. Even if you’re going, in my opinion, against the best secondary in the league in the Denver Broncos with Pat Certan, you know, they drafted the guy we wanted, uh, Jade Baron out of Texas, they got Riley Moss, even against some of the best quarterback rooms in the league, the Vikings still have a massive advantage. So, one, you’re going to need to run the ball as well against Philadelphia because you can’t get in the third and longs against those defensive linemen, even if the Vikings offensive line is healthy. So, you know, hopefully it’s just a typical situation. No real hard-hitting, you know, analysis here. Use the run to set with the pass. If you can run the ball well at Jordan Mason, that will allow Justin Jefferson, Jordan Addison to have those big time deep shots down the field. So, start off with running the ball right down the field. Hopefully, they’ll set up, you know, play after play after play for that offense against the Eagles defense. Zool saying, “With our cap space, do you see the Vikings holding on to it until the last minute or do you feel like they’re actively looking, wheeling, and dealing?” Um, I think they’re trying to roll it over, Zool. I don’t I don’t think the Vikings are planning on using this cap space. That’s why I think the NFL trade deadline will kind of be a snoozefest for us Vikings fans. Even though I will give the NFL credit, the NFL trade deadline honestly has more juice than the NBA trade deadline, which I never thought in my life I would say. But guys get traded all over the place. Um, you know, maybe they make a move for like another corner. Maybe they make a move for, you know, linebacker depth, but I can’t really see the Vikings making any big time big time moves. Now, obviously, if they were 5-0, or maybe if they if they beat the Eagles, beat the Chargers, you’re 5-2, maybe they decide to get a little more aggressive. But with the Vikings being really in the hole next year for free agency, I think they’re going to try to roll that cap space over, you know, restructure a couple of these contracts, just have more money than literally zero next year in free agency if you do need to get better on the margins. But Zool, good question. Um, but yeah, I just think they’re going to roll it over. JJ McDardy, if you could choose trade Justin Jefferson for Josh Allen, would you take it? Uh, yeah. Hopefully Jefferson’s not watching this video or anybody related to Jefferson, but yeah, absolut freakingutely. Jefferson’s my favorite player in the NFL. But if I was trying to see which guy gives a team a better chance to go win a Super Bowl, there is no doubt Josh Allen. I mean, come on. I think all of us would, you know, trade Justin Jefferson in multiple first round picks for Josh Allen. Like, I don’t think that’s that crazy to say. Um Allen I think is still the best quarterback in the league or you know if not undisputed top two with him and Patrick Mahomes. So yeah, I would 100% do it. Um it would kill me to ever, you know, see the Vikings trade Justin Jefferson. But I think you’re tripping if you say you wouldn’t take Josh Allen over, you know, Justin Jefferson. Um yeah, that’s a JJ McDardy. Messed up question. Messed up messed up question. But yeah, give me Josh Allen over uh Justin Jefferson. Hate to say it, but that’s just the truth. All right, Skull Nation, what’s going on? My guy saying, “Do you think the Viking should make a trade and for who? Big name or not?” Um, it’s probably actually uh one of the first years in a while I’m saying the Vikings shouldn’t make a move. Um, because of two things. One, I think you need to roll this cap space over like I was saying earlier to the next following season. But also, this Vikings team is set up where they pretty much need to hit on draft picks because over the next couple years, you’re not going to have a lot of money to spend in free agency, which requires you to hit on a lot of draft picks and also not only hit on draft picks, but also draft players are going to make immediate impacts for your football team. So, I honestly think the Vikings should stand pat. I think it’s going to be a boring NFL trade deadline for us Vikings fans. But again, who the hell knows? like Quzy, anytime you think he’s heading in one direction, he kind of always throws a curveball going in another direction. So, I’m going to say no. Um, I’m going to say, yeah, Viking shouldn’t make any big time moves. Dark EXP saying, “Why are there so many hates on JJ?” Um, so many haters on JJ. I think it’s a lot. Um, I think one because a lot of people didn’t believe in him coming out of the NFL draft because, you know, if you didn’t watch college football and you were just somebody who was just a diehard NFL fan, you’re like, why did that kid get taken top 10? Like Michigan barely used him. He barely threw the ball. You know, he was a handoff merchant at Michigan, but they didn’t really understand like one, he’s a super young prospect. He’s got all the intangibles. He’s got all the tangibles you would want. And also, I think just the Sam Darnold situation where people are saying like, “Oh, the Vikings, um, they won 14 games with Darnold. He just threw 35 touchdowns. Why would they just let him walk out the door?” So, I think that that causes them to kind of just have some natural hate to JJ. But, I’ll tell you this, JJ’s a very likable person. If he ever, you know, becomes like the main squeeze in the NFL, I think he’s going to have a lot of fans, not only just Vikings fans. Like, I think he’s going to have a lot of kids growing up that are like, “Yeah, I love what JJ McCarthy is about.” And also what I think is so funny, you know how JJ in the huddle had that quote, “Where else would you rather be?” I have seen so many other quarterbacks take that. Drake May said that before the Sunday night game against the Bills, the Jacksonville Jaguars tweeted that out themselves um of Trevor Lawrence uh before the game against the Chiefs saying, “Where else would you rather be?” So, he kind of has that movement. He’s got this gravitational pull. So, I don’t know why there’s so many haters. I just think it’s uh people didn’t like him out of the draft, so why would they like him now when they haven’t really seen anything out there on the real NFL football field? Reed Southern uh Southern saying, “Do you think that if we didn’t have the injury bug, we would have been better than the Indianapolis Colts and be on top of our division?” Well, we are better than Indianapolis Colts. There’s, you know, no doubt in my mind. I know Cam Binham said Colts have a more complete team than the Vikings team last year, but I think top to bottom we are better. Now, would we be on top of our division? Probably. At least I think we would have been tied with the Detroit Lions at 4- one. Uh yeah, 100%. Like again, I’ve been saying this a lot. We can’t sometimes underreact to injuries. Like when you lose your second and third best player defensively, that’s a massive blow. When you lose four of your five starting offensive linemen, that’s a massive blow. Addison was suspended three games. You had two international games. Like this Vikings team had to overcome so much adversity. But I still will say it, I think it’s good for the bigger picture of this football team. I honestly the way the season started I would have kept it the exact same way. It’s just JJ played all five games where he was still developing. That’s the only one thing that I think was a total negative about the start of this season. But I would have taken all the adversity they fought through. I think it’s just going to be better or make this team better when uh you know the real tough times of the football season are coming you know later in December. Jason Robinson saying hashtag Vikings do you think we would get hot at the right time? That buy and winning record going into the buy is a boom to build off of and we’re expected to get back key players against the Eagles. My man. Exactly. Um now I’ve also been a big component of I think potential is the worst word in sports because potential is not a real thing. Um potential is something out there in the air. It is not real. It is again like I said not a real thing. So do you think we’ll get hot? I hope we do. I mean, you are getting a lot of guys back, which would make me think the Vikings should get hot, but also the schedule’s very tough. Like, I could see the Vikings maybe winning two in a row here, losing one, winning two in a row, then losing three or something. It’s going to be an up and down finish this season. And, uh, real season starts week seven. This is when you’re starting to playoff teams. You start to play real Super Bowl contenders. You’re getting healthy. It’s like a perfect storm for this team to go on a run. Um, but yeah, you’re getting key players back against the Eagles. That should be massive in that game. And again, Ban Genko and Cashman, get those two back defensively. This defense will be uh, you know, top tier for the rest of the year. Minnesota Vikings fan saying, “What motivated you to start your channel?” Um, honestly, I was just uh talking about the Vikings way too much with my dad and he said, “Why don’t you just go do a podcast?” And I was like, “Yeah, that sounds fun.” And then I just started doing videos out of my uh, you know, basement when I was living at home. Then I went to uh, then I was at college, started doing those out of the corner of my room. And I just love talking about the Vikings and I wanted this to be a career and you know thankfully for here at chat sports they allowed me to do just that. But uh yeah motivated or what motivated me is just uh my love for this football team. I love talking about it. Um I just love being in sports media because you know people will cling on to you know your good takes, your bad takes and it’s just like a fun business to be a part of. So yeah just my love for the NFL and my love for the Minnesota Vikings. Let’s close it out with this. Who is the most important player on the Vikings? Is it Justin Jefferson or is it Christian Darth? I think those are the only two answers that are um pliable for this. You guys let me know who is the most important player on the Vikings, CD or JJ. All right, if you guys could also hit that subscribe button on your way out. Closing in here on 64 and a half thousand subs. If you guys haven’t already, hit that subscribe button today. 1. No Way I'm Trading Jefferson For Allen! I Love Allen But Not For The Price of Jefferson….Absolutely No Way! I Could beat Allen With Jefferson and Sam Darnold For Heavens Sake! We need to Get a Complimentary Back With Jordan Mason!

  2. The Hates on JJ McCarthy is We Thought he was Better And We Just Want to Win A SB Now For Hitman….Do You Not Get it!?!! We Would Have Been Better With Darnold This Year Not Sure About next Year! SKOL

  3. Jj has had ONE very good quarter and 7 crazy quarters . Pat how can you think he's going to help the team; against the schedule we have in just the next 4 games. Then it feels like you think he's even close to ( I can name at least 10 ) the best qb's. I hope your not betting on any games the vikings are going to be playing. Let's face it ; our free agents picks are not working.
