All right, away we go on a game five Saturday. The Milwaukee Brewers, the Chicago Cubs. It’s win or go home for each of these teams. Just down the street at American Family Feel. I’m nervous. I’m excited. I’m fired up. I’m scared. all the emotions that could possibly be running through my body or running through my body. So, I imagine you’re right there with me, though. Um as we are just less than 10 minutes away from first pitch um here in in game number five. We just did a about a two and a half hour long pregame show w with Gabe Knitel, myself, Josh Deagio, Domio as well joined us from the ballpark um for a little bit. And you know it’s the theme. takeaway I had the theme of that those conversations we had for two and a half hours is you just don’t really know what to expect tonight. You know who’s playing, you know who’s opening the game from a pitching position, but other than that, you don’t really know what what what we’re going to see and what to expect here tonight and uh in in game number five as Josh Deaggio trudges his way into the studio. First critique, only one TV. Can we not turn that other one on? It doesn’t work. It’s tough. The blank screen next to us feels feels rough, but How are you feeling? That’s the only critique so far. Regardless of your um the side you choose. I’m just so excited for a Trevor McIll one, two, three, first inning. Get out of here. Get to the get to the Brewers half without a without a run scored, without a home run. It’s unbelievable what it’s felt like these the roller coaster emotions just in the first inning so far this series. I’m really happy Pat Murphy went the direction he did. Um, I’ve patted myself on the back a few times for it, but if you’ve sort of followed along of how he’s approached this series, it’s it’s been big time, trust your guys. I think that’s part of the reason why Christian Yelich was moved to the leadup leadoff spot. I think that’s why we saw Freddy go when he did, despite people thinking maybe they should save him for game five or in the event they win possibly a game one of the NLCS. Yeah. Um, Migill to me made the absolute most sense. He was an all-star. He was the guy that they trusted probably the most on the pitching staff other than Freddy Peralta um through the vast majority of the season. And you desperately need those three outs because that’s when things have popped up for the Brewers. And they said, “Who better? Who else?” the power of friendship. The guy who started the whole mantra, who lived and died by that mantra, is the guy you’re going to send out there that you hope the moment isn’t too big from it. And I don’t think it will be. He’s pitched, he’s not a young guy. He’s pitched in big situations before. He’s faced amongst a ton of pressure, tons of ton of eyes. I’m just so excited to for that first pitch for that those first three batters to come up. Now, he doesn’t need to be he doesn’t need to go one, two, three. I just want no numbers on the board after it. I agree with you. I agree with you. Um, we also welcome those of you who were maybe watching the Wisconsin Badgers get their booties kicked. Um, it is 17 to zero in the at the end of the first quarter in Madison. So, that’s good. Um, well, you’ve got a you’ve got a team playing for uh for something much bigger than whatever trophy they play for in that Wisconsin Iowa game uh tonight here in Milwaukee as the Brewers and Cubs. We’ll get going in game five in just a couple of minutes. Uh Brandon Woodruff delivering the lineup card for Milwaukee tonight to the ump meeting. So, good to get him involved in some capacity. This this is very much a think into the future and not part of what we’re facing. But after Pat Murphy treated the first uh the Jackson Turio thing like he did and kind of said the same words he did, it makes me think Brandon Wood got a real chance to pitch if they manage to advance to an NLCS here uh at the end of tonight. Probably could do a a favor for updating the score every so often. We can do that. Um but yeah, playbyplay would get us taken off and our YouTube page suspended. How many how many points have the Iowa Hawkeyes scored all season? Like are we in the territory of we’re going to give the most points to Iowa all year? Uh I will double check on that. So, I feel like there’s still meat on the bone. So, it g I mean, again, given this start, I feel really good about where this game’s going. So far, so good. It was offensive to my senses to see the Badgers and a Cubs hat on one person. That was Ben Brust up until, you know, the past 10 years or so here. So, um, those those people in Illinois like to enjoy a fine university we have there in Madison, Wisconsin, and they say, “Hey, can’t beat them? Join them.” So, that’s where they’re at right now. Yeah, that’s true. I mean, even though now with all Illinois team can beat us. Yeah, that’s true. Even Northwestern, I think Northwestern at proving beating Penn State that could they could be chocked up to that, too. I’m currently watching a video of the jumpound and the only people that look like they’re having fun are the Iowa Hawks. Yeah, that’s not that’s not terribly surprising. I did see u Pablo Glacius from ESPN Madison tweet out that a let’s go Brewers chant broke out in the game which if there’s not much to root if there’s not much to root for on the field you just root for the next best thing I suppose. Truly, truly, truly remarkable. What a team. Uh this also marks their 100th win of the season, uh counting both the regular season and the postseason. Not that that matters, but it it is a cool mark. The Brewers have only reached, I think, for the third time in franchise history. Um 100th win of the year comes in this game five decisive game five victory. That series is a freaking roller coaster. That’s the beauty of sports. It’s the beauty of fandom. you get that 20- 0 lead um you know early in the series and you’re just thinking to yourself, all right, man, like this could this could go really well. And then you go to Wrigley, you drop two, which which leads us to a game five, but ultimately uh ultimately the Brewers pulled it off and they’re moving on. We’ll see them again Monday night at Amfam Field. Monday night against the Dodgers, all that payroll, all that talent swept them six games this year. Going to give them a run for the money. They’re as good as there there can be, but to be the best, you got to beat the best and I’m excited. It’s been a while since we’ve gotten to an NLCS. I’ve thought we should have been there probably multiple times before, but now it’s here. Yeah, now it’s here. And this is a team that I I think, you know, we we watched it all season, Joshy. is a team where we thought the championship expectations were justified and despite the highs and the lows that come come along with a62 game play or 162 game regular season and then the playoffs you never know what’ll happen but for months and months we said this is a championship level team and now they have the opportunity to prove that against the reigning champions against the LA Dodgers and that’s what makes this so damn fun obviously it’s the team you lost to in the CS the last time you were there but it was team that won the World Series a year ago. And you get an opportunity to, as Joshy just said, if you want to be the best, you got to beat the best. And that brings us to here. All right, we got one more caller.
