Personally, I think people are overhyping the lack of commentary too much. I think they just don’t probably know the details, and aren’t sharing what they do know because it’s personal. I imagine Josh will be back soon, but until then, Moore can hold us down.
Edit: also, I’m not posting this because I think it’s our business what his private matter is. Quite the opposite, actually. I’m glad Andy isn’t answering many questions and isn’t holding Josh to a hard timeline.
Shouldn’t be commenting on a personal matter. We, the public, don’t need to know what’s going on.
“Personal matters” usually involve death, injury, or something ugly. Chiefs F.O. is doing the right thing by giving Josh Simmons his privacy. Let him spill out the details when he is ready. Let’s hope it’s nothing bad though.
He’ll be in the injury report if he does not practice and we’ll get a game designation. He’ll care a lot more about the time he spends with family then a Week 7 early game
If KC didnt have Moore id bet he’d be back already
Moore played very well against the Lions, so I’d be comfortable with playing him against the Raiders next week. Then it’s the bye week and after that it’ll be almost a month in between games for Simmons. It’s more than enough time for him to deal with whatever he has to deal with and to come back strong, both physically and mentally. Either way, I hope his family is alright and that he finds strength in what probably is a very difficult time for them all.
Take all the time you need Josh, family is more important than anything.
Maybe stop reporting on it? It’s a *personal* matter. Does that word mean anything anymore?
If Simmons wants to tell the world what it is he’ll do so when he’s asked about it in his presser upon his return.
If he doesn’t want to share any details then he’ll just politely decline the question and move on.
We don’t have a right to know and we don’t need to know.
Wishing Simmons the best with what ever it is.
Simmons can do whatever he needs to do with his family. Moore showed us last night that he’s worth his contract.
None of our business. These guys are all at the age when your parents and close older relatives start getting older, developing health problems, and unfortunately dying. A player having a personal family emergency shouldn’t be this surprising.
Not sure why they would if it’s personal. It’s his choice if he wants to tell people. I’m sure there will be some nosy reporters who will figure it out and eventually someone will make a statement.
90% of the time these things end up being medical in some way or another (a death, an illness, an injury or something).
The other 10% is usually something law enforcement related
Unless he’s not back by next week’s game this is not something anyone should be concerning themselves with. Let the man do what he needs to do.
I misread this as “unclear WHETHER he will be back with the club” and was like holy shit wtf did he do
He’s out until further notice. There is nothing to say because his absence isnt related to his on field work. We as fans don’t need any details Simmons doesnt want to share himself.
Why even post this?
I thought there were reports last night confirming a family illness? Not an injury or legal trouble or anything like that.
If that’s true, then that’s all we need to know. Let him be with him family – Moore can handle the Raiders.
It’s obviously something that needs to be handled within his family and only his family. The team will release the information when it’s given. It’s nothing to do with the general public.
With Chris Jone’s aunt, sounds like we got a black cloud hovering over the big guys.
Hope everything works out for him and his family. That’s what’s important!!
It’s a personal matter. Why should they be obligated to discuss a personal matter with the press or the public?

What the fuck is the point of this tweet and also this post? You don’t need to tell us when you don’t know anything.
