  1. Bibb must have watched the game yesterday and decided, “Nevermind we don’t want them anymore”.

  2. I’ve made peace that if I want to see enjoyable football this season from a scrappy team, I need to watch the Carolina Panthers.

  3. Going to be great to check out this new stadium after week 10 when we’re 1-9 and tickets are $5.

  4. You got two years to get the team respectable if not the new place will need free game season ticket specials

  5. This is a good deal for Cle considering. Making your lakefront desirable would be awesome.

  6. I understand the city going after what they could get, but I don’t really understand why the Haslams got public money if they could afford (and they can) $100M to tear down the current stadium.

At least there should be free street parking downtown on Sundays in the future, that’s a win.

  7. After 38 years this is it for me. In a dome outside of the city. That’s not Browns football. Lost my dad a few years ago. Buried him in browns gear. I wish I could change that bc he would have been so fucking done after the Watson trade. Some of my dad’s last words were go browns. Now I’ve hit my last straw. Goodbye browns

  8. I’m really interested in the fall out of the move on businesses that are still down town.

  9. Haslam has so much damn money he gave Bibb $100M to leave him alone. 😂 Remind me again why he needed $600M from taxpayers?

  10. Perfect. Now the city can pocket that $100m and leave the stadium to decay for the next 10 years, claiming there is no money to tear it down, and lakefront to continue to not be utilized in any way that entices people to go downtown.

  11. Nostalgia is the big reason most people want the team to stay on the lakefront. From a straight up logistics and fan experience perspective it is a no brainer to get out of the city.

Cleveland on a game day / concert day is an absolute joke to get in and out of.

Whether or not the actual Browns team that plays in this new stadium will actually be worth watching is a separate convo.

  12. We are something. I think we might be the fan base that would complain that gold bars are too heavy and we don’t want them. Not everyone has an owner who spends (right or wrong) and wants to build an amazing new modern complex.

Check Cleveland Guardians, and Oakland A’s. That’s bad ownership.

  13. So Haslem gets $600 million free from taxpayers and kicks back less than 20%.

Well played by the maestro of scams

  14. It’s official, Jimmy World coming to Brook Park in 2029. Let’s hope the Browns have figured out their QB and multitude of other issues by then. Yeah right…..Hahahahahah. Looking forward to watching more putrid Browns football in climate controlled comfort…while paying Jimmy 2-3 times more to do so.

  15. Maybe I’ll get to see a super bowl in my lifetime after all. The Browns won’t be playing in it but maybe we’ll have one in Northeast Ohio.

  16. What will be done with the existing stadium?

Edit: I just read the article—raze the stadium and ‘develop’ it.

  17. I guess this means I should try to go to my first ever Browns game at the stadium downtown while I can afford to. The problem is I’ve had no desire to in the last 20+ years and feel like I’m not missing anything by never going.

  18. Oh yippee. A crooked billionaire and government collude to rip us all off for a football team that has managed to be the laughing stock of professional sports for over a decade.

  19. So Daryl Ruiter was right about this since the initial lawsuit from Cleveland was placed. It was all just about how much the bribe needed to be for the city.

  20. This organization has become completely unrecognizable from the one I grew up watching in every single way except for results.

I feel so disconnected from whatever this franchise has become, and it’s all ownership’s fault.

  21. Smart move to put a dome on it, so no one can accidentally look inside and see the awful product on the field.

  22. If it wasn’t for the shitty Haslams the city of Cleveland saying it’s going to cost 30 million to demolish the stadium would be the biggest criminals here. I’m sure the other 70 mil will be well spent. Taxpayer Fucked in the mouth and ass like usual.

  23. So Haslam was asking for $1.2b to pay for his $2.4B Dome and instead he’s getting $700m? PSL prices just went up
