  1. Not good enough, simple as that. They look rattled and lost. Vlad and Barger going 0 for is awful. The Mariners look so much more comfortable in the box and pitching. It’s insane, we’ve just come out of our approach or something.. now we gotta somehow find a way to take 2 or 3 in Seattle when that place is gonna be nuts.. and we’re throwing Bieber and Scherzer, and they have Castillo and Woo.. looking pretty bleak I can’t lie..

If there’s a team that’s showed resilience it’s this team tho, 2-0 is tough but not 3-0, we could take 3 in Seattle and the whole situation changes.. gotta do better than this

  2. Yeah being down 0-2 at home really sucks, and it’s bad vibes right now…BUT, not gonna stop believing after having to wait 9 years for the team to get back to this point!

Maybe they make some magic in Seattle, maybe they don’t, the series ain’t over yet. See y’all on Wednesday!

  3. The Jays only have 3 hits over two games from players not named George Springer & Nathan Lukes.

  4. No way to sugarcoat it, two awful games at the dome. But..

Only 2 weeks ago the Jays needed to win the final four games of the season to secure the division. Many of us counted them out and yet they did it.

Now, they need to win atleast 2 of 3 in Seattle to keep their season alive and bring it back to Toronto. And again, many are counting them out.

Time to see if the comeback kids have another epic comeback in the tank.

  5. What the hell happens to the Blue Jays when they reach the ALCS man

3-10 so far in their last three appearances…

  6. I saw the Raps fall 0-2 to the Bucks in 2019 then come back and win 4 in a row. Toronto can do it I believe

  7. And this is why yesterday’s game was crucial to win. Game 1 slipped away and we needed that bad. Holding that Seattle offense to only 1 run through six was crucial, the bats just didn’t show up at all.

When adversity strikes, which this team is in right now, what will the leaders of the team do? How will they respond. How will they regroup and galvanize the troops?

Seems steep, but win 3 games in Seattle. You’ve shown already this season that you can do it, now with your season in peril, do it again.

WHAT DO YOU GOT FOR US BLUE JAYS, SHOW SOME FIGHT!

  8. Hits after the 2nd inning in game 1: 0

Hits after the 2nd inning in game 2: 1

    Just unfathomable

  9. Nathan Lukes had a very strong game tonight, glad he’s able to stand out so consistently.

  10. Talk about the pitching all you want. Or bitch about the pitching change. But 1 hit after the second inning in 2 games combined is not going to ever win a game.

  11. Well, almost 10 years ago to the day, the Blue Jays overcame a 2-0 deficit going on the road in the ALDS capped off by the Bautista bat flip. Blue Jays need to at least win the 3-game set in Seattle to stay alive. They swept the Mariners on the road in the regular season, so it’s still doable, but they really need to step things up offensively if they want to have a chance.

  12. That umpire was atrocious. He made up his strike zone the whole game. Strikes that were called balls. Balls that were called strikes on both sides. Even the batters knew they had strikes. The strike not called for Trey put a wrinkle in the game no doubt. Forces the pitcher to throw more inside which leads to home runs. On the flip side lots of strikes called on 2-0 that were clearly balls. Messes up the batter swinging. Chasing stuff they wouldn’t.

  13. The mariners are such a dangerous and well balanced team. Jays gotta work through some adversity and out on a show for the west coast fans

  14. Baseball is a turn-based RPG, it’s not a “try harder” kind of sport. You get your 27 outs and the other team gets theirs, Every team gets their chances at bat, and you try your best to hit while the other team is trying their best to not let you hit. You can’t take possession from the other team, you can’t fight for rebounds in the paint, fight in the corners for the puck, or fight through screens or rip the ball from the other team’s hands. You go up and you take your pitches and you swing at what you think you can hit, it’s not an effort or passion thing, And as much as we praise this team for their plate discipline, it’s not a patience thing either. You can take 3 pitches and those 3 pitches could be strikes and then you’re gone. Sometimes the best pitch you’ll ever see in an at bat is the first one. And the Mariners pitchers are very good and walk the third fewest batters in baseball, so the “work the count” mentality was always going to be harder with them.

Unfortunately, that’s the pain of baseball. Even the best hitters hit only 30-35% of the time. The greatest hitter of all time only hit 40%. It’s a turn-based RPG where your characters fail most of the time they get their turn up, and so the margins of success and failure are so small. I guarantee you the Jays performance has nothing to do with a lack of effort or partying too hard or that they stopped caring after the Yankees. Yes psychology and pressing at the plate are a thing, but for the most part, they’re going up and taking their hacks, the Mariners are just also really good.

  15. Varland, Fluharty and Fisher pitched 2.1 innings and gave up 5 hits + 4 earned runs.

Rodriguez came in and walked the bases loaded and got no outs.

This is not a playoff bullpen.

I don’t understand why Schneider is going to the pen early instead of letting his started pitch until their arms fall off…
