Chills every time this replay pops up.

Thom Brenneman’s second best call ever
What was he doing there?
Amazing play
Credit to the ump for seeing that tag behind the calf.
If he would’ve chumped that call — sucks cus no replay existed
Wow I’ve only ever heard the Brenneman for this play. The As radio call is great
Heads up fucking play
Still blows my mind that goober didn’t slide 😂
Amazing play of course but I’m always impressed by the announcer’s call of it too. Absolutely recognized and met the moment
That look in Giambi’s face at the end. The brilliant Jeter coming out of nowhere, shockingly.
RIP to Jeremy Giambi
That’s my hometown hero!
Shouts to Posada for that tag too
DeREk JEteR waSN’t A GoOD dEFEnsIVe SHortStoP
The greatest play of my lifetime.
Shout out to Moose for pitching a gem that game
On the chalkboard the shortstop is nowhere near that cutoff. Jeter just somehow knew to be there. Incredible baseball instinct.
I’d trade almost any World Series to have won in 2001. What an incredible ride it was from going down 0-2 against the As, to wiping the floor with the 116 win Mariners and then those three World Series games at the Stadium, the win there would have been so sweet.
Unpopular take but Jorge was actually the one that made this play special.
If he was actually out, sure. I’m still not convinced that he was. I think Posada tagged the back of Giambi’s calf when his foot was already down. I also think the Jeter diving into the stands play was much more impressive. This play was more heads-up.
Was Michael Kay calling this game from a submarine?
It’s so crazy how different the perceptions are of this play between fanbases. Over here, we rave about how Jeter made a zillion IQ play, but A’s fans look at this and go “GIAMBI YOU IDIOT WHY DIDN’T YOU SLIDE”
Miss this type of heart, hustle , and determination.
Giambi, who would later not win a series with the Yankees
Very smart Sox fans will tell you Jeter was way out of position on that play
Spencer’s throw was really something.
