8 home opener for the Flyers as they take on the Florida Panthers. Fifth time they’ve played the Panthers in their home opener. One of those was the very first game played in this building. Power play goal against as yet. And now break fumbles the puck. It’s a two-on-one for the Panthers. Reinhardt with the puck. Reinarding, holding, centering. Matty across. Lar Rob Landell. Drop play here by Forester to Brink, but Reinhardt reads it. He knows that Forester is going back to Brink. Puts Brink in a tough spot and Vadar able to get across. Now that pass did not have a ton of zip on it and because it was jump on by the puck here. Jet Luchenko back in action. A right wing feed for it had back to Lenko. He was quickly checked. He recovers the puck. Centers it for making the shot and a save and the rebound knocked out of there by Terasoft. Goes back out to the pointers as much as he can. Play carries on. The power play is over in front. Roll it out. Another big save. This one on for HGY. And now the counter rush for the fly. Knocked down by Rodriguez. Beachov’s in there, but it’s Mika getting that puck ahead. And now the pass is the set of a strip there. Ba connect from the tip. And the save by Terasoft. Now Forester sends it in. Terasoft the former Columbus Blue Jacket as the Panthers had to change their backup situation. Forester nice steal the shot. He scores. The first goal on home ice this season belongs to Tyson Forester. One- nothing Philadelphia. This one here and again it’s the Kates line. Forester just does a good job. He’s in good position. Couturier is able to knock it down. But then look at the skill level by Forester. I mean stick handles around a couple of players to get to the middle of the ice. Not easy to do. And it did not go as he flipped at it. Parasop got that long leg over there and it went wide. Forester makes him go all the way back behind the net and gives to Samuskevich forward. Moves up with it. Skilled centers it in front for Hegy denied by Bolar. Savis sends it back through. Ezale has the guy without the stick working on him. So he should be able to get it through. Now here is Meechov playing it down low. Connecti across. Secret shot. Save. Teras off as he got across. Now it’s Dale to Connecti. Plays it to Tippet who fires. Save Terasaw. Although I know they’re not supposed to. No. No. It’s just funny how things even out in the end is what I’m saying. Good pass from Ziggress to Tippet. Tippet the shot. Save. Naros off. 25 seconds left. Forester dashing through center. Off in the left wing. Bring across. Couturier in front. Forester had it. Ricochet off of him wide. His hurt now. Very lots of room. Greg in across the line. Very dropping it back off the mark. Connectny. He’s got Couturier. the ring away for the captain. He scores. First of the year for Couturier and the Flyers lead two nothing. Create turnovers. Sanheim with a terrific stick here. Creates the turnover. Heads up play by Kknney to find Couturier who was late getting back and the perfect finish off the post and in. But that play doesn’t start if Sanheim doesn’t have the poke check there like he had and ended up being threeon three though and the Panthers win the battle. End up merging to center. Worling tried to make this a two-on-one. Mechov could not contain him. The shot save rebound and it’s not finished by Reinard. I’m not sure whether they’re going to do that. He got it again. Now he scores. Reinard just stayed with it. The Flyers could not contain him. A short-handed goal with a fire killer, Sam Reinhardt. And it’s a two-1 game. It’s hit the zone. Everything looked like it was going to be okay after this near miss by Reinhardt, but then the puck just seemed to follow Reinhardt as Brink tried to get it by him. It just kind of stuck to him like glue. watch as this goes right to Reinhardt and at that point Lar is in deep trouble. He’s on the other side of the net, not able to get across even with that large frame of his and Reinhardt is able to tuck it underneath the blocker, but he’s had to overcome a lot. Two back surgeries, had some challenging times over the last couple of years with his deployment. But you hang around him right now as that puck deflects out of plate just 5 seconds in. 26-year-old that meriter for the Panthers getting his first start for the club being acquired in the offseason. Couturier fighting off Reinhardt behind the Florida net. Centers it in front. The shot and Dale rang it off the crossbar. Forced by Aclad still able to chop it through, but there was Jones. Nice quick pass to Maria. He’s got a man cutting it on goal without the save on Bennett. Jou with Dale. The puck skips free to Landell. out to Jones and across to Mikola. He’ll take this shot. Missed everything. Mondell got to the car. He got a shot from the angle off the bard. Melts down halfway through the period. Here’s Jones. Big pick up at the deadline last year for the Panther. There’s Reinhardt. Gains the Philadelphia line all the way across. Got his man tip. Pass back out of Reinard. Larard’s down. They score. Bennett able to have found it home. Lar ended up on the seat of his pants. It’s a power play goal. Bennett’s first goal of the year ties the game at two. But a good job by the Panthers on the entry. They’re able to change sides a couple of times. And you can see Vari’s well out of position. Once it changes sides back the other way, he thinks that Reinhardt’s going to shoot that puck. So he’s down and in anticipation of that. But Ziggers holds around behind, waiting, looking. Gets to drive this way. Connectney back out. Drydale. Power play about to net. Zigris from the angle. Hits the outside of the net. The power play is over. Bennett’s out of the box. Here’s Couturier waiting. Bennett runs him over as he went a long way to get to him. Ziggress then crushed into by Ben. Got it in front. Coutur. He scores. What a set up from Ziggress. Couturier buries it. Three-point night for the captain. And they have the lead back with 410 to play. Two guys barrel down on him behind the net. I don’t know how he doesn’t get killed behind the net. He’s able to escape both and then make a play through a seam to the weak side to Couturi. I mean, just to avoid contact is amazing. And then to make a play on your backhand. That is it’s an sensational play by Trevor Zegris. Haven’t seen a play like that. Seer a chance again. He waits. He’s going to hoist one out to break and center. Break has a man. Forester reaching for it. He’ll get to it. Center it in front. Kates is there. Reinhardt kept it out. Oh my. Flyers that close to a twogoal lead. And right back at it here. Kates the shot. He missed the net. Rebound break. He hammers it home. Empty net. Goal. 42 Philadelphia. defensively and so conscientious here. The play that Forser just can’t catch up to. They just find a way to have an answer. Look at Brink work his way back. Allows Ad to stand up. Keeps it alive. Kates misses, but Brink does the rest. And with 217 to go, the Flyers makes the D, hold on, waits, passes it, and D’vorak was checked. He gets it back to Couturier. Out to Sani for the shot. They score. D’vorak was in front. I don’t know if he touched it. It’s an empty net goal though. The Flyers lead five to two. Shoot it earlier in the shift. He didn’t. Shows what kind of guy he is. D’vorax the one that’s going to get the goal as he redirects the Sanheim shot. It was again a quality performance here, but this time they get the W. 52 the final as Rick Tucket as his first victory as head coach of the Flyers. [Music]

Sean Couturier led the way with a pair of goals and assists, while Daniel Vladar stopped 24 of 26 shots to help the Philadelphia Flyers beat the Florida Panthers 5-2.
