Do you guys think the Padres opening could entice Hundley over to San Diego? I know nothing is set in stone with him become the Giants manager but I would think this forces the Giants to become more aggressive pursuing Hundley if that’s their choice.

  1. I’m not exactly ecstatic about Hundley, they can have him. He has no experience coaching in MLB dugouts.

  2. Getting a manager into that situation of ownership would be a tall task for anyone who is considered other places.

  3. I’m sure Hundley would get a interview in San Diego especially since he spent most of his playing career there. but at the same time, I wonder, how many ties does Hundley have left in that organization? I feel like his Posey tie is fresher therefore stronger?

  4. Watch them circle back to Bochy. I believe he still lives in the area and that team probably has a 2ish year window of contention remaining. If Bochy had any plans to manage again this would be the perfect fit.

  5. I want to know what people think of Nick Hundley? I’ll admit he inspired no confidence or inspiration in me. However, hearing that posey has so much respect and admiration for him boosted it. Now I’m just worried it be a Hallberg signing in which he breaks a tie solely because he’s posey’s guy. And that I don’t want. I want that to be a + not a reason

  6. Anybody working under Preller is difficult and the complicated drama around the ownership makes managing the Padres a risky one. Best openings are still Braves and Giants.

  7. Where you all get Hundley to the Padres? This was all by design so Bochy can return back to the Padres where he first started.

  8. Hundley has more ties to SF than the Padres and I think the fact Buster is in the FO is high consideration for him. Also sounds like a lot of immediate drama he’d have to deal with for the Padres considering they don’t have a good track record of keeping their managers

  9. My guess is that Buster Posey is a #1 choice as PoBO for any of the candidates that he is interviewing. It’s very likely that the ball is in Posey’s court. He’s going to choose the candidate he feels is best for his vision of a Giants manager.
