NHL Highlights | Kings vs. Wild – October 13, 2025

Keer in his career since leaving Minnesota 03 and one with an 88.9 save percentage back here in what was once his home building. We’re underway. Clinton Biffield back to pick it up for the Kings. Rossi in pursuit for Minnesota. Dowy sends it around behind the boards and the Kings start out with Dumalan. A deflected puck at the Minnesota line and a quick shot for Fiala knocked away. The puck comes back out to neutral ice. Capriov deflects. Deno plays it ahead for the Kings. Moore short-handed. Moore fires. Saved by Ballstead and Eisroza back for Minnesota. 22 left in the power play as Hennesa fights past Edmonson in the corner. Rossi there out to the line for Spurgeon. Spurgeon looks into the slot. Johansson shot blocked. Spurgeon got it back. He fires. Scores. [Music] [Applause] Spurs gets a chance. It gets a good look. It gets fired right back to him off the original block shot. It kind of turns into a little bit of a seeing eye puck, but you look at it in a stro in front of the net. may not be the biggest frame on the wild, but just taking away a little bit of that release as a goalie. If you can’t see the puck come off your stick, there’s a very low percentage of making the save on that initial shot. Now down to Bu in the circle to Capri. Capri circles back to the slot looking, fires, scores. [Music] [Applause] Well, you see it again how effective it is to have a goalie’s eyes take away. You walk Ericson act in front and Caprio so good at this. He just drifts up into the high slot. Finds a soft air where he can get rid of that shot. Darcy Keer’s got no chance cuz he’s got 14 standing right in front of his eyes. Never sees the release. All 97 needs to do is hit a spot. Hits the top right corner. No chance for a Kings goalender. Hasn’t seen both pucks that have entered seven power play goals already this year for Minnesota. Capri off for Ericson. He’s able to hold the line. Terasenko goes cross ice with it. Baldi moves down low. Baldi wants out front. He scores. [Music] [Applause] [Music] Wow. When you have all world skill like that, sometimes you don’t need guys in front of the net. And you saw the skill. Baldi goes under Doomland’s triangle, finds a hole off the post. You get Ker just leaning off, thinking maybe he’s going to pass it to the front, but guess what? He’s going to squeeze it through. And these guys are so good now at finding those little holes. And as a goalie, you go down lowy Fino in the corner for Minnesota. Five on five after the Wild Cash in twice on the man advantage. Bouncing Puck. They score. No, it’s waved off. Hartman scores for Minnesota, but it’s immediately waved off. There was a lot of commotion in the crease. The officials will discuss, but Hartman clearly pushed the puck into the net. Let’s wait for the explanation after the officials confer. Minnesota number 38 makes incidental contact with the goalender in the crease not allowing him to play his position. This is goalpender interference. No goal. Brian Hartman. There might be too many men on the Kings here. It was a very awkward change. Ogrren trying to center. Keer tries to cover and another whistle. You can feel the frustration. What an incredible start for the Minnesota power play this season. Here’s a redirect and a big stop by Ballstead. Wild’s favor and just for the bench to see how comfortable Ballstead looks. Calm, clean. It’s a clean crease. He’s square to it. Puck hits him in the chest. It’s not an easy play. Your own guy% 38% when it draws. It’s not going to you’re not going to have a ton of puck possession. You got to win the draw to have the puck. Wild had the edge on the faceoff circle in St. Louis on opening night into the circle. A shot blocked by Bgoan. Deno plays catch with Clark into the middle. Arvia and a pad stopped by Volstead into the corner. Malot played it to the line. It’s loose out front and a save by Molstead. He picked his eyes up and tried making a power move to the net and it it just shows the confidence where fault that is just sealed the bottom of the ice. That plays hard. You got your stick. You don’t know if they’re back door. He gets across, keeps the ice sealed. You see Turk tried for scoring the power play. Kill the penalties off when you take one and uh play strong defensive five on five hockey. Get out of the zone fast. [Applause] Middleton couldn’t get it by Clark. A centering pass. Fia denied by Ballstead. Rebound. They score. FIA on the second attempt able to sneak it by Valstead. And the Kings are on the board. Four minutes into the third. Draw. Kempe centers. Wanted a tip by Kuseno. He was tied up. Kopitar holds at the line. Tempe into the slot by field scores and the power play goal has Los Angeles within one. [Music] You couldn’t tell if Kemp wanted to shoot that puck. He came in and just given up a goal on that angle. You got to as a goalie, you got to stay you got to stay honest to that shooter and he’s a guy from that area that’s lethal who scores a lot of goals in this league. He’s coming in. He’s making it look like he wants to shoot. He’s deceptive. He’s deceptive the whole way. Rossi plays it back to the far wall. Faber with it. Faber to Broadin. A long shot. Hits some traffic in front. Rossi settles it down. A shot. Capri off. Then Baldi Keer on his back and the puck caught iron. Rodin fires and a save by Keer. Take a look here at the multiple chances and the puck’s hitting everything on the way in. Goes off Clark’s knee. Keer’s competing anywhere. Didn’t find it. Hits his butt and then it ends up back on the taperi who has half the net. But uh you got Brad Clark in there who’s playing butterfly. Baldi to Buham to Terasenko back for Buham. Long shot got through. Pad save. Ericson on the rebound. giving a few punches and receiving a few to the face and that’s a price he pay though getting to that area to Kopitar out to the line. Dowy back to Kopitar into the corner. Fiala Kopitar Dowy hammers one on goal. Save ballstead rebound they score. Kempe came up with a loose puck and the Kings with the extra attacker goal have tied it in the final minute and we will head to overtime. First extra session of the year for Minnesota. [Music] face off of the extra session. Kempe tried to go to skate to stick. FIA Kempe fires hit the side of the net and Minnesota avoids damage on the penalty kill in overtime. We head to a shootout. Here comes Capri. [Music] Save by Keer. Looked like maybe it rolled just off his heel and fanned on him. tried going high glove and it never ke in and a save by Volstead and a little fist bump. I love it. He’s feeling it. Came out with authority. I like his depth. He’s out on top. Stayed with him the whole way. Baldi works against Keer and a pad save by Keer. First move and just beat him along his heel of his stick. And as a lefty, you see a lot of lefties try to do that. Kapper beats him to the ice and makes the save. Moore comes in with some speed against Volstead and a save by Volstead. Ball again just confident, calm, not sure where it ends up, but keeps it out of the crease. Gets lost in his feet. Here comes FIA for Los Angeles. And a save by Volstead as he went back to the backand. Great job staying with y’all the whole way. He’s got, you know, makes five or six quick moves in tight. Gets a good punch. Looking to give Minnesota the lead. He scores. Might have been watch high glove on the they get an iPad a chance to look at breakaways that Keer’s given up in shootouts. against Kouseno. Save by Boston and a win for the Wild. [Music]

Kirill Kaprizov and Matt Boldy both scored a goal as the Minnesota Wild held on to beat the Los Angeles Kings 4-3 in a shootout.

  1. The only reason the Kings came back in this game and almost won is because the refs were calling even-up penalties because the Wild were dominating and had 5 legit power plays in the first half of the game. Kings were not good in this game at all. Wild could have had 10 power plays but the refs can't make it look like they are favoring a team. It's stupid. The better team should be rewarded, and the Wild are clearly the better team by far.
