49ers Fans Get MORE BAD NEWS After Loss To Buccaneers + 49ers Trade Rumors On Former Saleh Players
[Music] This is the San Francisco 49ers report. Chase Senior hanging out here with you and another loaded show coming your way as we talk all things Niners every single day year round right here on the program. And that’s why you hit that subscribe button to lock us in. Here are the two topics that I want to get into here. the Niners getting more bad news from this Buccaneers loss upon me going back and watching the tape and also racking my brain thinking about that defeat yesterday. Also, could Robert Salah bring back some of his guys who thrived under him with the New York Jets and they fulfilled two needs that the Niners currently have at edge rusher and at linebacker? Why would you go anywhere else? Continue to kick it here with us and let’s begin here with topic number one. The biggest issue with the San Francisco 49ers against the Buccaneers on Sunday was not the defense after the Fred Warner injury. And that’s really saying something because this Niners defense without Warner really struggled. Once he went out, the air was deflated from that Niner sideline. We all felt it, right? To see number 54 get carded off. It was shocking. It was emotional. He had missed one start in his entire NFL career. So, it was a rarity and it’s really saying something that the biggest issue on Sunday was not the defense because the Buccaneers offense did this. They put up 352 yards of total offense. They averaged seven yards per play against 7 and a half yards per play after Warner’s injury. Baker Mayfield was phenomenal. Threw a couple of touchdowns, 17 to 23. He was highly efficient and he made some money throws and money plays on money downs. The Buccaneers also had success running the football. 26 totes of the pill for 104 yards. They averaged four yards per carry. They didn’t turn it over at all. The Niners did multiple times. And obviously that can be pointed to M. Jones. Kendrick Bourne was to blame for the first pick. The second pick for Mack, that was on him. Bad throw. He had Marquez Valdis Scantling open underneath and Jake Tonous open underneath. He tried to go downfield to Jawan Jennings. Sometimes that’s what happens when your wide receiver is mouththing off and complaining on the sideline. You try to force feed him the ball like you did last year against Debo against the Rams and it results in bad plays and it results sometimes in losses. And so the Ner’s defense not the issue. And again that’s really saying something because there were some concerning things that happened in that game. They gave up explosive plays. I thought the tackling was awful. When you give up seven yards per play, you’re just not going to score many ball games because that’s not a sustainable way to play defense. And there were some bad plays in that game which directly impacted the end result. How does Baker Mayfield get out of this sack here? Travis Gibson and Bryce Huff seem to have him swallowed up. Pause. Right. I mean, he is coralled in the pocket. It looks as though he is going to go down. And what’s key about this, you look at the score, 20 to9 Buccaneers. You look at the down and distance, third and 14. Somehow Baker Mayfield escapes far beyond the line of scrimmage. Does not get sacked. Broke a couple more tackles and picked up a first down on this play. You get off the field here. You finish the play. You sack Baker Mayfield. You get the ball back and you’re only down one. 20 to 19. Plenty of clock left. You can take advantage of the momentum swing here. You could take the lead. You score a two-point conversion. You go up a touchdown. Game might be different. What happens a couple of plays later and just moments later, Baker really good pocket feel, pocket awareness, able to hang tough in the pocket as it starts to collapse around him and he finds Tz Johnson for the long ball. This was clearly a coverage breakdown as Tez Johnson gets behind the defense with his 47 speed and he beats Maris Seagull here. Now, the throw from Baker Mayfield was a little bit too long. Tez Johnson did a great job of being able to full extension, reach for that ball, reel it in, possess it as he fell to the ground, did the backflip, but this was a huge swing in the game where the Niners could have gotten the ball back down 20 to 19. Instead, Buccaneers score a touchdown. They go up by eight. Huge switch in turning the complexion of the game over. And then earlier in the game again, you look at the down and distance. It’s second and 10. You’re in the game. It’s 1413. And once again, there is a coverage breakdown for San Francisco here where there was that pre-nap motion from left to right where Johnson was able to get in motion. And this is a coverage breakdown for San Francisco where nobody accounted for him on kind of that wheel route and nobody covered him, nobody picked him up. And Cameron Johnson was able to score a touchdown here. There is nobody in the vicinity of Cameron Johnson. I mean, you see Malak Mustafa, he held up well in coverage. He didn’t give up a catch. He doesn’t get docked for this because this isn’t his assignment. But Tes Johnson gets behind the defense. Touchdown. Cameron Johnson gets wide open because of a coverage breakdown that probably doesn’t happen if Fred Warner is on the field and nobody is within what 8 to 10 yards of him. Walk-in touchdown doesn’t even get touched. So again, the defense despite their shortcomings, despite their mistakes, not the biggest issue with the 49ers on Sunday. The biggest issue with the 49ers on Sunday and that loss against the Bucks, the offensive line. And you can use a couple of different words to describe this Niners offensive line. Dog horrible, a joke. All of those words perfectly encapsulate what we saw from this Niners offense yesterday and what has been an Achilles heel for this whole Niners team all year long. And this is on John Lynch and Kyle Shanahan because since 2021 in the biggest of games against some of the top defenses and the best defensive coordinators, this Niners offensive line, which has never been a priority for San Francisco, has gotten exposed time and time and time and time and time and time again. This offensive line stinks and it’s killing this Niners offense right now. They cannot run it. They cannot pass protect and going up against Todd BS who is very blitz happy against a defensive line that’s very talented led by Vea along the interior. This Niners offense got bullied and embarrassed. Dominic Puny gave up six pressures. His regression from his rookie year to his sophomore campaign needs to be studied. What has happened? Is it the knee injury that he suffered in the second week of the preseason? Maybe. That happened a long time ago. But this year, he has not been the same player. He’s given up about the same pressures through six games this year as he did last year, but with the eye test, he’s not fairing well. He’s been one of the worst guards in football. Trent Williams age is catching up to him. Hasn’t been the same player this year. He’s getting beat pretty routinely. still very good, but you don’t see Trent Williams get beat to the clip that he’s getting beat at for arguably the best left tackle in football. Gave up four pressures and two sacks against the Buccaneers according to Pro Football Focus. Connor Colby at left guard, three pressures, surrendered one sack. Jake Brendle, one of the worst centers in football, gave up two pressures. And Colt McKivitz, he’s actually been a bright spot this year since getting that bag. And even before it against Seattle, he was pretty good. Only gave up one pressure. And in going back and looking at the tape, just a sad performance from this Niners offensive line, especially the interior going up against VA. What did I talk about all week in the leadup to this game? The concerns that I had with Vea going up against the likes of Dominic Puny, Jake Brendle, and Connor Kby, he owned and dominated that matchup. And he impacted the Ner’s run game. He impacted the Niners pass game. He sat Dominic Pony down here like a puppy. Put him right on his ass. How do you expect M. Jones to have success when he sees a guy who’s 350 lbs bulldozing his right guard and he’s right in his face. You think over the course of a ball game you get a little bit gunshy when that happens when you’re getting hit, pressured, and sacked six times. Yeah. How about Connor Colby here? Vea once again able to sit him down. Next slide. Vea against Jake Bindle. threw him to his left like a ragd doll. Jake Brindle holding up like he’s my size at 215 pounds and obviously he’s got some weight and strength on me and Vea made him look like a high school offensive lineman. Now, Vto is a great player, but this stems back to the issues that the Niners have had along the offensive line since 2021 when they go up against elite players, elite units, and or elite defensive minds, they get exposed. And the bad news here for the Niners from this point moving forward, not only on defense are you without Nick Bosa and Fred Warner making the defense’s job harder on the offensive line. I don’t see how this run game improves behind this offensive line because there are no other better options on the roster. Yay. Ben Bart is gonna play left guard. Fantastic. Always hurt. Average player. Is there a better replacement on the roster than Jake Brendle? You’re going to go with Matt Hennessy or Drake Nent? Nick Sel right guard Domick Poney used a third round pick on him. He was really good as a rookie. The sophomore slump has been real. He’s got to fight through it. And right now for him, you saw it yesterday with his frustrations. I think it’s a mental thing and it’s a physical thing. Now, I will add M. Jones has played awesome in his four starts. He’s done so well in resurrecting his career. His ability to throw from the pocket has looked elite under Kyle Shanahan. This is where you miss Brock Party’s mobility. And this is where Pertie’s ability to create with his feet, escape pressure, and bail out this offensive line can really help out this Niners offense. And in the modern NFL, it’s very valuable to have a quarterback who can move around because M. Jones, admittedly, he’d even say it is a statue back there. And so Pury can help a little bit, but I said this last year going into this year, Pertie has bailed out this offensive line and he’s put a band-aid on it. Now that you get a quarterback back there who doesn’t move all that well, we really see how bad this offensive line is. It’s a joke. Coming up next here on the show, could Robert Salah and Rant bring back some of his guys? We’ll get into that here in just a moment. But have you signed up with Prize Picks? Obviously, we know that trade buzz is developing around the Niners right now. Could Robert Salah reunite with two of his guys who thrived under him when he was the head coach for the New York Jets? I’ll say this about the Jets. They are a dysfunctional mess. Did you watch that game in London yesterday between the Broncos and the Jets? Have you watched the Jets all year? What do they do well? Nothing. They are a poorly coached team. And it’s not for a lack of talent. They have some talent on that roster. And I don’t say this often because I’m willing to give head coaches an opportunity. Aaron Glenn might be one and done because this Jets team stinks. They are winless going into week seven. And because of that, they could look to sell. They could look to get rid of some big contracts or tradeway players who could be up for contract extensions like a Germaine Johnson. And two players who I think could peique the interest of the ners in canvasing the Jets roster. Quincy Williams linebacker, Germaine Johnson, defensive and an edge rusher. And they could be available realistically for San Francisco. And I’m not sure they’d have to give up a ton. Although Germaine Johnson would require some draft capital being surrendered by the Ners. And as we know, you lose Nick Bosa for the year, you lose Fred Warner for the year. The Niners have needs at both linebacker and edge rusher. And Robert Salah has brought the best out of players like Johnson in maximizing him where he could continue to thrive under Salah with this Niners defense. Now, Johnson in 2024 did tear his Achilles early in the year, second week, second game of the season. But the year before that, he had really started to come into his own under Salah. Seven and a half sacks, 16 quarterback hits, 11 TFLs, seven pass breakups. A pretty impressive number for an edge rusher. This year, in only three games, you’ve seen some signs of life for him coming off that injury. one sack, one quarterback hit, one TFL, and a pass break up. Robert Salah has also maximized Quincy Williams. He’s had him playing really well. I mean, look at his tackle numbers the last three years. 106 under Salah in 2022 with a pass break up, 12 TFLs, he can play the run, six quarterback hits, you can use him as a blitzer, as a pass rusher. 2023, 139 tackles, 10 PBUS, 15 TFLs, four quarterback hits. In 2024, 116 tackles, four PBUs, 14 TFLs, two quarterback kits. Obviously, Salah got fired around this time last year. And then this year, in three games played, 15 tackles, two PBUs, two TFLs, three quarterback kits. What the Niners could really value with these two players is that both of those players are under team control through the 2026 season. They can help you this year survive without Nick Bosa and Fred Warner. They can help you next year in joining forces with Nick Bosa and Fred Warner. And I think that’s what the Niners really value here is continuing to build this young football team and having continuity on the roster with some young players. Don’t forget to hit that subscribe button. If the Niners make a big move, if they make a trade, you know I got you covered with some breaking news here on the program because the grind don’t stop and the content don’t stop. [Music]

What's the biggest issue with the 49ers right now?
This is what happens to quarterbacks, and running backs when you don't address the offensive of line. You build from the inside out, not from the outside in.
Defense stinks big time if the niners want to make rum they need players
BA needs to be traded he's too much Drama he needs to go away maybe trade him and get some Defensive Defensive help he's Drama
Chase you say it how it is bad Defensive plays but obviously BA is a cancer to a team that is already dealing with major losses to star players don't need him trade him away or Put him in PUP
so funny hearing this.. they spoke highly of the 9ers and the players they acquired, they praised saleh and were all pumped up. saleh is back!! saleh is back!!ššš now their changing their tune šš
chiefs, eagles, rams, lions, bills all dont have a stacked all star roster and they still are competitive.. u dont need huge super stars to be successful… 9ers should be a threat with what they have. they still have the core… QB, RB, TE and WR… everyone else just needs to be good not great … the only way the 9ers can even compete is to have an all star team… thats not good
Who will get injured next week?
i guarantee u, if u bring in spagnuolu and reid they will have this whole team running like a well tune machine. they have the talent just have dont have a great coaching staff
dang, trent williams is washed?
We find ourselves right back against the same injury wall. We were 1-2 plays from changing the game. Baker escaping the sack and blown coverage on two critical plays. I think the league penalizing QB hits on the lower torso makes tacklers look to grab and hold up top. Neither guy tried to get baker down, but both were on his upper body and maybe trying to "ball tackle" instead of get him down. And do not mention how the rookie Stout is balling this or that. he missed baker on t he scramble in an open field tackle that would have stopped the play. he bounced off a couple tackles during the game and was exploited across the middle. Liability.
Missed tackle on defense
What about will McDonald
Face it we are finished rams will win the division then lose in the playoffs
We are banged up and hurt and the bottom line with this is this will affect choke Shanahan, who after this year Iām sorry we gotta start looking around. I think heās on the hot seat now, regardless even though the injuries are not his fault.
Excellent points!!!
The O-line is a bigger issue than anything including all the injuries and Itās starting to be clear.
Purdy is a franchise guy from a pay perspective. The line as itās currently constructed is like having basic lability insurance on one of the highest costing luxury cars.. it just doesnāt make sense.. if you canāt get the insurance to match your purchase.. you donāt buy that car!
The only guy earning his bag is Colton!
Itās tuff to reshuffle the line mid season but do you risk career ending injuries to Purdy, CMC behind that line?
What fucking game were you watching? How can you say the defense wasn't the issue?
TW is done, love him, but he got paid, to banged up and needs to be done!
Vita is a BEAST THO!!
Not many can handle that dude!
They limit his snaps just for that reason! Keeping him fresh!
49er Defense line ,just bad and Offensive line not better they will get their ass kick by Colts, Kanas anytime
I dont get it. Why do they keep neglecting the OL?
Stupid click bait thumbnailā¦ā¦.
The 3rd and 17 that Baker rushed for a 1st down was terrible!!š® I don't remember who but someone on that play fell for a fake pump 8 yards past the line of scrimmage!! He should have been stopped for a loss and rushed for a 1st down on 3rd and 17!!!! That was not 49er football š!!!
They thrived like huff? Donāt want them then
My biggest concern is that Brock will come back and play horrible (at no fault of his own) and everyoneās going to want to crucify him or, worse yet get hurt for the rest of the year
WOW, Chase you gave me shit on your Livestream when I said why aren't the 49ers investing in the O-line?? I didn't mean today yesterday or tomorrow. I mean period!! Trent Williams is a shell of himself and we invested in him! You brought him up, and Brendal! This is what I'm talking about, we aren't using hi draft picks and we aren't going after big trades or signing decent ones in free agency!! Our 1st and 2nd picks need to go to the O-line and build future success!!
Jake Moody for the win!
Go Bears
I'm sorry, the Offense gave up 30 points?
Same blah blah blah 49ers. Injured blah blah blah
Really one
Thanks!
The game was lost because of the defense. Two touchdowns and that 3rd down conversion, those things can probably be fixed by coaching. But this game really exposed how horrible the interior line is.
I think Puni is still hurting from his injury, and they should sit him and put in Moss. Let Puni get his mind right and his body at full strength.
I STILL BELIEVE FAITHFUL!!! If John Lynch and Kyle shanahan make some quick moves, that will boost our team ………if they don't; ……..then that means that they have given up on themselves!
Do not forget the Bucs have the #8 Def. in sacks in the NFL, and their defense has been playing quite well. Also, we have Mac Jones in for Purdy who is hurt, has a brace on his leg, and needed banana's to compete, but did a good job considering. Yet he is not mobile like Purdy is that is for sure. So even though the Offensive Line did not do us any favors, they are not completely to blame for this game. Actually you pointed out that would-be sack of Mayfield on 3rd and 14 would have been what 4th & 20 or so, hear the 20, an absolute punt to the Niners, could have changed the game.
Great Show CHASE, 5-STAR BROTHER
We need TOs and getting to the QB
Iām sick of this BullShit
Baker should a been beat upā¦. Niners need to wake up
Chase you cant give the reasons why it was the defenses fault then say its the offensive line. The offensive line didn't give up 30 points or throw 2 ints
Time to get Drew Moss at Center or LG.
They got their asses handed to them
I'll settle for a winning season, maybe a playoff. Super Bowl bound? NO! Not this year!
Hopefully we'll have it together next week for the Falcons
Vita Vea is the reason we drafted Javon Kinlaw; because Vea is big human being and is strong as an Ox. The man who takes up a double team, and literally shoves them aside. The extra blockers coming to help he sheds those too. The double teams are good in theory but thatās a mismatch from hell in all honesty; as Iāve never seen a player that big, being able to play three downs and still have a high motor, and in that dominant fashion. Heās a true rarity.
Looking back I believe Javon Kinlaw was drafted with Vea in mind; as Lynch is on good terms with the Glazer family, and got the scoop on what Vea actually does thatās not seen on tape.
Lynch with that in mind, mightāve let Buckner be traded and take Kinlaw. Then what team did we trade on spot with The Bucs and they took Tristian Wirfs.
The Glazers I feel convinced John they were going to take Kinlaw, and pair him with Vea; to have the most impenetrable Defensive from the NFL had ever seen.
that he was going to be the next Vita Vea with Buck Buchanan type moves; pass rushing arsenal than unfortunately Javon Kinlaw was just always hurt and never worked out.
John pulled the trigger and the Glazers fooled John into taking Kinlaw and Bucs got the best RT in the game presently.
Just imagine a few years where Trent was still tops on the Left Tackle and Wirfs on the Right tackle side; the 49ers would have #7 by now.
Sad but true.
