Derek Carr and Andy Dalton truly ruined this mans career and confidence. Rattler is giving him plenty of clean targets to be a top 5 WR and yet Olave is a shell of his rookie/OSU self. Sad to see.
JSN and Egbuka for example haul in hard catch after hard catch and their QBs get praised for it, despite plenty of their highlights being from a not so perfect throw.
Olave meanwhile drops a perfect pass to the pylon and we have guys saying we need a change at QB. Just bonkers.
tl;dr- watch more NFL games and you will see what real receivers should look like, or turn on some Michael Thomas highlights to see how when a wr has a real catch radius they don’t NEED the QB to put it right in the chest every time.

I’m in the minority but I always thought Olave was a little over rated. I’m sure I’ll get downvoted for it because they’ll say “But HiS QbS?!” Yeah I don’t care. Still need consistency between the injuries.
Honestly, the man is one bad hit from a career ender and is possibly, if not likely, going to suffer from some form of CTE later in life.
If I were him I’d be terrified. And I honestly can’t blame him for having some mental issues. And for those of you who may day he should just retire if that’s the case…
Well, he’s only got so much time to make guaranteed money. Probably will end up less than a person of his skill level.
It’s a tough situation, and I don’t feel much else than empathy for the dude.
Not everyone full lives up to their potential and turns into a generational talent and that’s okay. Olave is a talented receiver but he’s no chase or Jefferson and that’s fine.
Carr’s hospital balls also had an impact he may not notice or need to deal with until later in life too.
Carr ruined Olave
just another reason to hate that turncoat piece of shit
Or, he wasn’t that great to begin with. His most productive years came when there was a seemingly more threatening receiver on the other side of the field that garnered more attention.
At the end of the day, you either catch it or you don’t- and he isn’t catching the ones that are designed to win games. Kellen is pelting him with chances to earn that second contract, and he’s catching every non-critical pass only to drop every critical one.
You can blame that on whoever you want, it doesn’t really matter. He won’t be on this team much longer.
My biggest gripe about a Olave is he just plays soft. I have no confidence in him to catch a contested pass.
