  1. This was my biggest takeaway from the whole thing. The question was about McGonigle specifically

  2. That seems unwise. Expecting guys who did well in Double A to come up to the big and contribute right away is a tall order. The plan cant be to rely on them.

  3. This tells me they will likely not chase a 3B or 2B in free agency. They are going to let McGonigle, Anderson, Lee, etc fill that out. Clark is closely chasing CF soon. They need to find a long term solution at SS likely but Baez will again fill that out next year. Keith is a flex guy for 3B, 2B and 1B.

That means they need to spend money on the pitching. Please spend some money on pitching. The SP depth in the system is has a major gap. I think Keider Montero would be an awesome back end of the bullpen guy if we could add more SP depth.

  4. It’s time to accept that our ownership will make no big moves, and we probably aren’t even extending Skubal.

  5. I expect all guys everyone is thinking about will not make the opening day roster but will make the 40 man roster and be in AAA. See Melton as a recent example – started in AA was promoted quickly and was in the show by mid-season.

  6. So…not Max Clark or Josue Briceno.

Top OPS guys at Erie during the year:

    McGonigle, Anderson, Cruz, Holton, …

Max at 8th on final roster, Briceno 11th

  7. Trey Cruz is interesting, 26 years old switch hitter that hits RHP much better, has played SS/OF/3B. Eduardo Valencia has done nothing but hit hit hit for the first time in his career, C/1B/DH type according to his stats. Max Anderson was our best realistic trade piece imo, bat speed, kills LHP, more traditional, younger prospect. And of course McGonigle and eventually Clark.

Sweeney, Rogers, Ibanez, Perez, Meadows, McKinstry should all be feeling a little sweat from these guys.

  8. I expect our GM to actually make impactful trades next year and our owner to not be cheap af.

  9. If they were so happy with the progress why did they clean house with the minor league coaching staff?

I’m pretty disappointed with that move

  10. Why would AA guys be brought up but not AAA?

Should we be bringing up AAA guys if they are good enough?

If AA guys were so good, wouldn’t they be at AAA?

  11. I don’t think we should be relying on home grown talent and hoping they pan out. We really should get some proven big league bats to shore up the line up. Can do both.
