Red Wings drop dud in homer opener loss to Canadiens #shorts #lgrw #nhl

The Detroit Red Wings lost their home opener 5 to1 to the Montreal Canadians in what should have been a very exciting and joyous occasion for the Detroit Red Wings. Uh it was their Centennial season home opener. Vibes were incredibly high with the debuts of Michael Bran Zaggard, Axel Sand Dean Pelica and EMTT Finny. They actually played the team played pretty well in the first five minutes bringing their fast-paced forch check heavy offense to the team to the game. Got out to a quick one- nothing lead before quickly unraveling. Defensive breakdown after breakdown led to multiple oddman rushes, ones that goender John Gibson could not elevate them past. And from there it was despite the stat sheet all Montreal as Detroit loses their home opener 5 to1.

  1. You can't just blame defensive breakdowns, every team has defensive breakdowns, and yes some were egregious, but most of the shots Gibson saw were savable. The same problem I noticed with him in the last preseason game. He is barely moving in the crease, and he's not even reacting to to a lot of these shots. He's not missing them, he's not even reacting to them. There is something seriously wrong there.
