  1. As much of a clown he is, it’s pretty accurate. I just don’t see Kyle Tucker, however. I see Bellinger + another offensive guy.

But yes, there is not one feasible upgrade at SS we can go after, which most of this fanbase does not realize.

  2. That’s a pretty massive overpay on tucker. He’s not anywhere close to judge or soto.

  3. No way can we have Jasson and Hays as our CF options, that’s asking for disaster.

  4. Someone on twitter brought up JP Crawford and that’s a move that sneakily makes sense since he’s a FA next offseason.

  5. Who do we sign to be our backup 1st basemen then? Or, what if Rice regresses or gets injured? I think Belli makes way more sense over Tucker

  6. I don’t see Tucker AND Hays. If we get Tucker, I imagine he and Judge will the corner OF, with the team acquiring a better defensive CF and trading Dominguez.

If Bellinger is the CF, I think we platoon Hays with Dominguez in LF.

  7. He’s right that there’s no feasible upgrade at short. People complain about Volpe’s defense at short, but he’s way better there than Bo Bichette. Obviously Bichette hits better, but the Yankees are probably better off using that money elsewhere while having Caballero play short (unless Volpe makes improvements in the offseason). It seems like an overpay for Tucker, though I assume he’s anticipating a bidding war. I really don’t want Hays though, he’s not that good, especially in center.

  8. The bullpen is a mess, and I’d rather keep Belli and sign a better defender for left/center. Bullpen needs strikeout pitchers who throw hard and if we continue to trot out Volpe with no real plan in sight then we do not deserve to win

  9. dare i say kyle tucker is not good enough to warrant being signed to age 40?

those contracts should be reserved for superstars. he’s a good player, he’s not a superstar

  10. no bullpen adds? Bullpen was probably one of the worst in the league. One of the big reasons team didn’t win the division and maybe about 10 more games.

  11. This would help, but the bigger issue as far as I’m concerned is that they need to fundamentally change their offensive approach and stop *exclusively* swinging for the fences. I’d honestly be fine running it back (not that I suggest they do so, mind you) if they genuinely made that adjustment, though of course I’d also like the roster to improve.

  12. Again (like with Soto) age is playing a huge factor in the contract. Tucker probably is going to get $40 million per year. With that the Yankees would still need to figure out CF and First Base…. maybe even shortstop and catcher….

  13. It’s a good plan but they would still need a backup catcher / 1B who bats right handed to compliment wells and rice. And they would also need some sort of depth SP b/c Gil is unreliable, cole off TJ no guarantees he’s back to his old self, fried and rodon just had a massive work load, Clarke no guarantee he even pitches next year so it’s a lot of pressure of schlittler, Warren and their prospect depth

  14. I’m tired of replacing one good player with another. Soto to Bellinger to Tucker doesn’t do a lot for us.

  15. If you can get Tucker for that (I think he gets $500 million), then you absolutely do it. I actually like the team as proposed. I’d love to get one more bat. It feels like there should be a Warren + Escarra + prospect starter for outfield bat trade out there. I think Escarra is the most likely to be traded this winter as teams love their Yankee catchers and he’s a bit redundant as yet another lefty catcher with great defense

Also, you can’t start Volpe. Cabby should be your mostly everyday starter
