This is actually indefensible.

This is one of those moments you’re going to be seeing on Sports Center top 10 list for a long time. Just unbelievable on both sides. Golden Knight fans in disbelief at the comeback and Sharks fans in disbelief with their goalie. I just can’t believe they found a way to oneup Stuart Skinner. And this one has shades of Patrick Stefen, which man, it’s been a while, but just watch. Vegas is the empty net down 3-2 with under two to go. Sharks are pressing but cannot get the empty netter. Ekkund trying to force it. He goes down as every Knight around defends the net, but they can’t ice it. The Knights get the puck back coming the other way. Jack Eel hits the blue line, chips it up in the air to try to force the zone entry and it’s in. No, I’m not kidding. Ned can’t handle it as he channels his inner Vesa Tosscula and whiffs on it as the puck bounces in. Tie game. We’re headed to OT. Just an ugly goal after a crazy sequence. And like I said, the crowd is in disbelief at the Sharks home opener and it didn’t get better in OT. Ned figures since channeling Tosscla didn’t help, maybe this time he’ll go for a Hall of Famer and do his best hashik impression, skating out of net to play the puck. Except he doesn’t stack the pads and teach Riley Smith how to fly. Instead, he gets the puck and freezes. You can’t do that. He sends him off into nowhere as Riley Smith sneaks behind Nettles. Shay Theodore hits him with the easy pass and he scores the easiest empty netter OT gamewinner this century. Like, what’s going on there? Better to get the puck and just rip a pot shot at the other side and maybe get an icing, but instead he ices the game the wrong way. Boy howdy. Just sad. I’ve been expecting a big step up for the Sharks this year. I mean, they’re still going to be bad. But they’re collecting those pieces and doing the rebuild properly. And for the first 58 minutes, they looked great, but Sharks are going to shark. And that’s what separates good from the bad and the young from the experience. Though Ned’s 30 in a couple months. He shouldn’t have double brain farts like that. But way she goes. What’ you think of this double senior moment? Which ones are worse? And has Steuart Skinner been oneuped or just both awful plays?

Just when I thought Stuart Skinner was going to be able to keep his title for worst goal of opening month but Nedeljkovic said hold my beer as he not only went for one but TWO Hall of Shame moments. That and more in today’s NHL hockey video!

  1. First one (the bad bounce) I can forgive. The second one was a real bad brain fart and pretty terrible. If he had just decisively played the puck it would have been a pretty good play. Unfortunately, he did what I would probably do in a high-stress competitive moment and… just kinda froze. He had the time and the space to at least do something better there. No bad bounce, no bad luck.

  2. I thought they were playing without their goalie in the OT clip but then I realized that doesn't make any sense 😭 Bro was so far from his position I didnt even see him

  3. You think Askarov slowed down because of the zebra in front of him?

But I can understand why he'd wanna do that: that was a 2-on-0 developing right then and there.

  4. As a goalie, granted not an NHL goalie, sometimes pucks catch weird bounces and things like that can be unpredictable. Stepping up to the blue line and turning it over however is 100% his fault

  5. Still horrible but you do realize that pass gets deflected and goes into the middle right? It’s not like Ned just thru it up the middle like you said… unlucky bounce, whatever… act like you’ve been here before.

  6. Awful, awful result and Ned hesitating was what cost it; however, the idea was probably correct since it was about to be a 2-on-0. Just wish he’d have committed to something. Kudos to him for facing the media after the game tho.
