Ravens fans are spiraling

  1. *”Does anyone have access to the original study?”*

It costs $18 to read it, and I guarantee no one is paying that just to get some confirmation bias.

Let them hate. Who gives a shit. I’m over trying to explain to morons why rigging the NFL for the Chiefs makes absolutely no sense.

  2. Part of the study’s “evidence” is a quote from Dave Portnoy, and it has no recorded methodology, which is a big no-no in real academic studies.

  3. Oh my God, we busted them and threw them in the garbage for the season and they’re still talking crap.

Least the Bengals have the dropped the “Who Dey?!?” crap already for the season

  4. Poor ravens fans their season is already over in week 6, wasting a season of Jackson’s prime. Now they don’t have anything else to do all year except cry about the chiefs

  5. That study bases its entire point off the assumption that if a game is reffed fairly then at the end of the game each team should have the same number of penalties, which obviously isn’t how it works.

  6. As a long-time fan from the years where we were mid at best, hearing other teams admit in defeat that the chiefs have a *dynasty* is something will always make me smile and I’ll never take for granted – how crazy is that y’all?

  7. I guess all you can do is hate when you’re sitting at 1-5 and you’re regular season MVP QB chokes every playoffs whether he’s playing the Chiefs or not. It’s gotta sting to see each iteration of the Chiefs ball out every year since Mahomes took over. Fuck’em.

  8. What’s funny to me about this whole study shit is I guarantee 90% of the people quoting it were apart of the “do your own research” crowd during covid.

  9. If the NFL was rigging the league for financial gain, it’d be the Cowboys and Steelers in the Superbowl every year

  10. It’s the fanbase located in the corn fields of bumfuck nowhere, not the goddamn Lakers! MAKE IT MAKE SENSE!!!

  11. You made it gentlemen, now Universities are doing fake studies on your team. A decade ago, no one cared one iota about you or your team.

Revel in your team’s accomplishments and let the hate commence.

  12. The study is so embarrassingly done the writers should be ashamed. But, like the writers themselves, the fans of other teams are just a hammer looking for a nail.

  13. Makes no sense, you want to have every fan base engaged to maximize profits, you want to give every team a equal chance to win a SB. This conspiracy theory is pure brainrot. When chiefs are losing the NFL is fair now its rigged again!?!?! Stupid as fuck.

  14. The study went all the way back to 3 years before Mahomes when we werent even making the playoffs or were first round exits like the ravens …….. the game the other night we had 0 Detroit had 4 penalties and one was delay of game. Flags weren’t the reason we beat the lions by what was it 17 points

  15. Brady was still ring chasing in New England ( winning another in 2016 and 2018 respectively) while Alex Smith was playing QB for Kansas City until 2018. Maybe some context undermines this “study” a bit huh?

Anyone buying into this crap really is desperate for another mug of copium to chug.

  16. Guy at a bar last night claimed that he had a friend who worked in “HR for the NFL” and she told him the first year Mahomes won the SB that everyone in her office heard that the higher ups were going to do whatever they could to walk the Chiefs across the finish line.

Social media has broken people’s brains and made us all so fucking stupid.

  17. Nick Wright paid the 18$ and said it boiled down to the chiefs have played more playoff games therefore there have been more penalties total in chiefs games

  18. Why tf would the nfl pick kc then? Taylor swift? She isnt making them as much money as a new york team being a dynasty would.

  19. Honestly, this PhD is brilliant.

It’s a nice fat pile of ragebait. He’s tapping into everybody who hates us cause they anus. Lots of those people will pay the $18.

And I’m sure this guy is going to milk his fifteen minutes to the max, going on every talk radio show in Baltimore, Buffalo, Cincinnati, Denver, and anywhere else that loves some Chiefs haterade.

I’m still working on my dissertation, Why The Los Angeles Dodgers Are Poopyheads, and when I’m done I’ll drop an $18 link for everyone. I will use every bit of academic rigor that this guy did. Source: Bro, et al.

  20. That “study” is as legitimate as all the ivermectin and hydroxychloroquine studies during covid.

  21. If the NFL wanted to rig it for financial gain, they wouldn’t pick a small market, midwestern team…

  22. Its just idiots being idiots wishing their team was good. I remember muttering to myself “cheater” anytime a Pats thing came out like deflategate or Spygate. In reality, they were the best coached team and knew what to do on almost every scenario, something most coaches lack when getting their teams ready (See 49ers superbowl gaffe where they received).

Everyone is gonna hate us because they ain’t us. The people who cant cope with that fact are gonna find any little thing they can to try and discredit us. Just let those salty tears keep coming as we rack up some more championships

  23. “Does anyone have access to the original study?”

Is actually the right question to be asking… But not for the purposes of pure confirmation bias. You look at the source material to better assess the methodology and potential for bias.

And this study is severely flawed at best. Pretty easy to make data say whatever you want it to if you’re coming into the “analysis” with a desired result in mind.

  24. I can’t wait to see the “evidence” that shows Chiefs get more defensive holds… almost like you had the fastest WR in the league constantly torching CBs and the only way to stop him, was to hold him.

    Probably too logical though.

  25. Yeah, it wasn’t a “study” in the classic sense. No methodology, no establishment of the parameters, and conclusions that do not objectively fit the data. It’s not just sloppy, it’s borderline academic malpractice.

The thing about the NFL “needing to establish a dynasty because of financial instability” was pure speculation without any relevant supporting data and the entirety of the publicly-released segments of the “study” read like they were written by a butthurt fan of a rival rather than someone who actually understands academic studies using empirical data.

Tl;dr, it pisses me off and it’s absurd how no one questions it because it feeds confirmation bias.

  26. How is one team dominating good for the league financially. I really don’t get that argument. I’d assume they want some parity, rotating sbs around the large markets if possible.

  27. Anyone know what journal this was published in? I’m almost positive it’s pay-to-play, based on others’ descriptions of the “methodology” but I don’t want to make claims without evidence (unlike oop)

  28. Soooo the NFL cereated a dynasty in (checks notes) in the country’s 34th-largest media market instead of, say, LA, NY, Miami, Chicago, DFW? Sure makes perfect sense.

Oh but wait. They can’t create a dynasty in a place with a shitty team. They need a good team to create a dynasty.

Logic is not the strong suit of these folks.

  29. KC’s such a big market, small markets like Baltimore just can’t compete anymore.

  30. The NFL needs KC to be champions pretty bad all the sudden considering the decades they didn’t need them to be champions before Pat.
