Yeah, he has certainly been playing his tail off and that’s the biggest thing that has stood out to all the teammates, but especially the veterans, you know, they they they notice all those little details, the rookies, both playing hard and also communicating, asking questions because they know if you play hard, good things will happen and then mistakes will be overlooked. Well, this is a great audition for Jordan and I thought he’s played well so far in the preseason and it’s going to be hard to look the other way when it comes to setting the roster with him around. There is Donic steps up and fires his first shot of the preeason. the very slim and fitlooking Luca Donic. And you talk about Jordan Goodwin, both he and Jared Butler, you got to figure, you know, the decisions likely to come down to one of those two guys making the opening day roster each. Yeah. But both getting a start here tonight. Exactly. And that’s what I always say is competition with the opponent, but also within your team in regards to those all valuable minutes. the leader inside and Luca able to draw the contact, get the finish and the foul. Yeah, with Luca you got to stay down. You know, you can probably allow him to jump and then jump after, but if you start really jumping around with him in that paint, he is going to draw the foul. JJ Reick talking about Luca first. had a successful summer playing for Sloveni in the Euro basket and that’s why they’ve given him the extended time off and kind of ramping himself up for preseason getting a little rest in there as well. But clearly the best shape that Luca has been in at least NBA wise and company out in transition. Labraia who got the start tonight LeBron James and that’s going to be a month or more before he is even re-evaluated. So, the Lakers also in a process of kind of seeing what their team’s going to look like without the likes of LeBron as Jared Butler who’s you mentioned played well preseason connects on that three. There is Fleming. Yeah. Did give up on the play and made Ree rush that shot. Clearly affected the shot attempt. Page Davis from the corner and we’ve seen it throughout to just as Jordan Sun’s new head coach told us as would be the case. Guys picking up almost immediately. Suns in transition is the veteran Hayes Davis. Nice little jump turnound there on Reeves. A little too strong. Kind of took his angle away. I’d like for him to maybe get a better angle to maybe turn and then put it off the glass. That’s a very difficult shot straight in. Reeves with the floater up and in. Re 21 points in his 22 minutes in their win Sunday against Golden State. This is a Laker team resting some of their own players as well. They’ve got four games in six nights backto back front end here this evening. They’re playing six preseason games to the Suns four of course as a result. is Butler gets a spin at contact inside, draws a foul and gives himself a trip to the free throw line. That’s a tough shot, especially the defender right behind you. You’re afraid that he’s going to block the shot. This is one of the most difficult shots you can make. You look at Butler, as we mentioned, you know, led Baylor to their first ever NCAA title at 21. [Music] He’s got all the skill set. He’s got the experience down his fifth season. Takes a pocket pass from Arabia. Too strong. Aiden had 14 points in his 26 minutes Sunday. His best game in the preseason. Yeah, he was asked last week what’s it been like to play with Luc LeBron. He said, “I don’t know. I’ll let you know when I do.” Again, that’s because of the injury to LeBron. And then, of course, Luca limited time in practice. So, it’s a Laker team that could take a while to kind of ramp up just based on their personnel, who’s available and who’s not. And like I said with LeBron, I mean, you should, you know, not going to worry that he’s out. Probably is a good thing in a sense when you’re plus years old still trying to play at the level he does. But it also gives Luca a good block there from Fleming. It also give Luca an opportunity to kind of gain control of the team without LeBron on the floor. So it it’s it’s some bad things obviously you want to start the season with both of those guys. But the good thing is that Luca is used to playing in these type of situations as well. JJ was talking about Luke, of course, that the body transformation has been the biggest thing that’s caught the attention of virtually everybody across the basketball world, but he said what what I’ve seen is the Luca that I saw when I played with Dallas four years ago. He said he’s he’s comfortable now. He is kind of that that smart Luca. Likes to joke around. Uh kind of comfortable now in his own skin being in that Laker organization. Not even a year yet after that, of course, jaw-dropping trade back in February. Good one shakes the defender, leaves that three-point effort short. There’s Good with a big bucket. On the other end of the floor, you see JJ Reick, who talked so much after that Suns victory against the Lakers in that preseason game 10 plus days ago, how impressed he was with what the Suns had done, especially on the defensive end.
