Phillies Cartoon I Made (To Remember Happier Times)

  1. Philadelphia seems like such a terrifying and magical place. I want to go someday but part of me is scared to.

  2. I was bartending that night and a table of Mets fans walked in during the ninth. They were as insufferable as you’d imagine. I ignored them for a while, told them they had to come to the bar to order. They complained to my manager who told them to kick rocks. It was a good night.

  3. I was moved to this city in 2008 and felt absolutely miserable. As a child, nothing made me more upset than seeing a bunch of people I don’t know be happy and stand in solidarity with each other like family. I watched on as I yearned for the family I had to leave. The Phillies were probably the first team I ever actually hated in baseball.

Now? After being surrounded by Philly sports for a majority of my formative years, I’d die before cheering any other team. Love all Philly sports because the place that was once strange is now home.

Funny how life works out like that!
