Jake Middleton Lays a Big Open Ice Hit On Matt Duchene
Dallas trying to stay perfect to begin the season. They got two goals in the first, one in the second as well. And Minnesota playing in the second night of a backto back. The 11-year veteran Vinnie Henestro tosses one at Aer. He handles that. Robertson sends it out for Sean. Duchain gets leveled by Jake Middleton. And now they’re going to go Middleton against Petravic who steps in defense of Matt Duchain who heads off to the Dallas bench. [Applause] Middleton wrestles Petravic to the ice as Duchine goes down the tunnel after the big hit. [Applause] That was a big hit. Neutral ice. Matt Duch is Minnesota P number five, five minutes for fighting. Dallas number 28, two minutes for instigating, 5 minutes for fighting and a 10-minute misconduct. Interesting. You look at they got the instigator penalty, so they got the extra. Here comes here. We’re going to take a look at the hit that started all of this. Matt Duchain comes in with the puck and Middleton comes in my opinion clean hit. Takes him. He’s got the puck. Got to be aware of that. And it is a big hit at neutral ice though. And then here’s the instigator coming in and dropping their gloves right away to you know that is something that they want to see though. They these coaches they want to see that that defense of their teammates. We’ll bring in Dave Jackson. Jax, how do you see it? First the hit and then what was the test says to Petravic? Well, Mike, I love the hit. I think that’s it’s a clean body check. Main point of contact is right through the body, right through the center. Doesn’t elevate. He doesn’t pick the head. So, that’s a good body check. The reason they assessed an instigator penalty was because a player making a clean hit should not have to fight after the after making a hit like that. It wasn’t a classic instigator. He didn’t come in and hit him first, but he traveled the distance, dropped his gloves first, and they acknowledged the fact that he made a player fight who delivered a good body check. Jax, thank you. Another look here at Middleton’s hit on Matt Duchain who got crunched. Yeah, and and that’s you got to keep your head up. is the physical game,

Good 2 – 0.
Really don’t fw this hit, shoulder straight to the face
Lol petrovic looking like a rag doll.
Good hit and then won the fight (that really shouldn’t have happened ) good for him
Seguins pass set him up for that hit, nice play Seguin!
Coming from a stars fan that was a clean hit. Just unfortunate that he caught Duchene’s chin in the process. Hope he’s okay.
Why does this look so old ?
No place for fighting. Be tolerant and compassionate.
Get rid of female announcers
Cheap Hit! No Puck! Shoulder To The Chin! From A SCRUB!
Dude gets leveled so his teammate fights him just to get his ass beat 😭😭
Can you post the Curtis Douglas and Chychrun scrum from the caps vs lightning game earlier today, thanks
Petrovic should have let Bichsel fight Middleton, he would have done much better
Why are they fighting after clean hits? Especially today when about 6 guys in the whole league can fight respectably
Shame on the arena for playing such a terrible song during the stoppage after the fight.
Quiet in there. People from south not know hockey?
if you can't fight learn to hold on better to the other player so you don't get punched in the face
Duchene got up thinking he was an av again 🤣
A hit to the head does include the chin and half way up the face., not just the skull.. They are blind.
Chin is not part of the head anymore seems like
drops the gloves but doesn't strike once then just leave it alone Petrovic please
